  1. Agree with about all you said here - particularly the relatively slow pace of development. But the last time I was there - ~ 5 years ago - the traffic had increased markedly, Wing 5 had become a pain to enter and the hill there had been closed, the interesting market at the border with Myanmar had been ruined, the public transport vans that once conveniently come into town were relegated to the outskirts, graffiti had started, Khlong Won had several new but apparently empty hotels, 'Golden Beach' was being developed ... Oh, there's no "surf" within a 100 miles of PKK. That hasn't changed in 20 years. surf Merriam Webster noun : the swell of the sea that breaks upon the shore : the foam, splash, and sound of breaking waves
  2. That's Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan? Hasn't changed in 20 years?
  3. How about eating a live monkey's brains from its sawed-open skull - while performing religious colonization.
  4. Avoid 'hypohydration'. Andrew Huberman fans can check out his YT comments on the benefits of adding more table salt to ones diet.
  5. Smart! This way you can get clunked over the head just for your fake gold.
  6. Precisely my recent experience as well. Agreed, if the date entered is correct. I understand yours was; I didn't enter mine. Same as my case. My newly recorded entry date is correct, as far as I understand it. Agreed. There's evidently something amiss again with the 90-day online service.
  7. Double espressos to get up those steps? YOLO
  8. There's that charming EV enthusiast personality again! You birds of a feather are fascinating. Nasty, defensive, childish .... but fascinating.
  9. Interesting (and includes a brief definition of an EVangelist):
  10. The interest for me is not in the many glories of EV ownership but rather in the almost unfathomable mentality of those who promote it.
  11. Our 6 hour EV charging disaster...how is it still this bad? Apologize if others have posted this previously. Good entertainment for EV skeptics. No, it's not in Thailand.
  12. Yes, let's just say that. A challenge to find any sane reason to have them in my life.
  13. You might find you do not even own that if you suddenly run afoul of some whim at Thai immigration
  14. People can figure things out for themselves. Unless they're desperately delusional & arrogant EVangelists.
  15. How clever! Just revealing your true character for all to see. Plenty of vids on YouTube showing EVs lined up to charge. Wake up, you're living in denial.
  16. Worrying about which anonymous user might be posting an unflattering reaction to one's posts? Really?
  17. Let's say we accept for the moment those (old) stats as accurate. Many/most "detached houses" are on tiny plots of land and/or are rented, occupied by poor people, or are otherwise unsuitable for solar installations. A new reason why EVangelists are so annoying has occurred to me: EVs are status symbols. "Look at me! How smart I am! AND that's not all ... I have home solar! You, plebs, cannot possibly understand how clever this is!" PS: Witnessed this evening yet another line up for the charging stations at a local PTT.
  18. Well aren't you clever! Home solar also an excellent choice for the millions in Thailand - billions globally - living in rented apartments and condos.
  19. Think we've all been there at some point. Firmly believing we have answers or insights that we later see to be ridiculous. I actually don't think KhunLA believes EVs are as convenient and free of downsides as he argues. Certainly they are not for most people - and he knows that.
  20. A sure sign of mental illness is when one begins believing one's own bullsh¡t.
