'Tis an aggregation of idiocy nonpareil. Enough to assuage any concerns one may have about the potential extinction of the human race ...

A wise choice. Pointless to argue with Early Adopters.

Thailand’s struggle with informal debt likened to modern-day slavery

Government acknowledges a serious problem yet debt repayment using the 10,000 baht handout is expressly prohibited. -
Insight: Scratched EV battery? Your insurer may have to junk the whole car LONDON/DETROIT, March 20 (Reuters) - For many electric vehicles, there is no way to repair or assess even slightly damaged battery packs after accidents, forcing insurance companies to write off cars with few miles - leading to higher premiums and undercutting gains from going electric ... $60,000 to replace battery. The battery costs more than a brand new car! This is a Motormouth couple car video discussing the cost to replace the battery in 2022 Hyundai IONIQ 5. After finding out that his battery protection cover was scratched ...

Those were not "what ifs". Different systems.

Maybe you're an "EV skeptic". Be careful though: slippery slope to "anti-EV", "EV-hater", "idiot", "stupid", and "infantile". And next thing you know you're on these genii' coveted ignore lists, banished from the cozy circle jerk company of the rational adults.

One thing I've found: EV drivers are the most charming people!

Pay by just swiping a card! Or with, God forbid, cash? You some kind of freedom/privacy nut? Got something to hide? Maybe you think you have better things to spend your time and focus on? Why just swipe a card when you can genuflect before these requirements: - the aforementioned phone signal - a data plan - an up-to-date smart phone, charged, turned on - the app that matches the charging station, linked to payment schemes - and so on and so forth It's all part of the EV dream! Brother, you're displaying a dangerous level of common sense and that does not go down well with Believers. -

I actually like this post. Would have been happy to let the EV-believers be ... until they began insulting the non-believers and arrogantly dismissing their comments.

No pain required to rubbish EVs. Thousands of actual, real-life EV problems at your fingertips on the internet - including serious problems after slightly damaging the battery pack.

Could it be the distinction between "expat" and "tourist" - both "foreigners" - is important here? Medical services are generally subsidized by taxpayers. Yes, I know this was ostensibly a private clinic. Long-stay expats do generally pay considerable taxes via the Thai VAT. Tourists not so much. I think charging foreign tourists more for subsidized medical services is understandable. But there is less of a case - if any at all - for dual-pricing for long-stay expats.

There's you bragging about your huge Ignore List again! Seriously though, it's not really the obvious downside issues vis-à-vis EVs that interests most. It's the mentality of Early Adopters - a strange bunch to many of us who aren't in that group. You have the blinders of the religious, and a sad, grasping, desperation to believe. This necessitates your efforts to block out competing information. A common tactic is to insult non-believers. Non-believers must be idiots, so we're safe ignoring them. Seems the level of vitriol is commensurate with the threat level perceived by the believer. Go ahead Early Adopters: be the guinea pigs for the rest of us. Don't be surprised to learn we're not all looking on in admiration.

Dangerous blue-ringed octopus found in seafood in Thailand

The Thaiger. Not worth reading, even if your life may depend on it. -
And by dismissing opposing views as the rantings of deranged or lesser humans unable to appreciate the divine complexity of the good news about EVs. I mean can you turn on your vehicle's air conditioner from inside 7-11 (where you've been waiting 30 minutes again while your EV charges)?

Wrong. He's not impartial. He doesn't like EVs. Now if you want "impartial", try Bandersnatch or KhunLA.

Actually, your slip is showing yet again: I didn't say anything about "Evidence". Nice try though. Not really. Keep telling yourself how great the time bombs EVs next to your house are. Will keep your mind off these images. I recommend you not click on that link.

Hang on a minute. If it was "humour" then it was not serious and therefore not so bad. And were it a serious comment, then it would not be humour. Can't have it both ways! Hint: it was intended as a reflection of the ridiculous attitudes by so many about the utility of masks and about those who don't want to wear them. At least two people understood, god bless 'em.
