The English language articles are not intended to do anything other than employ a couple Thais who can barely put together English sentences. 

Thailand does not care about informing non-Thais unless there is some obvious benefit. 

The Thai language media articles are the ones that count, and then Thais hardly read, so.... 

This hazing is heavy in Asia where it is used to reinforce the most important sociocultural concept - hierarchy. It will not stop. They are predisposed to it.

This is one of those times.

I've come to the conclusion that there is no logic here. Neither is there any ability to plan, foresee obstacles, introspect after issues or generally improve in any serious way.

The entirety of Thai national characteristic is a lightly guided free-for-all.

It is why Thailand is simultaneously so fun to live in and so dangerous to rely on for anything important.

Exactly this. Disgusting, really. No diff than their cousins in China. 

I see their strategy here. Strong likelihood they will simply lie and start pushing propaganda that certain areas of Thailand are highly or fully vaccinated and that it somehow should be reassuring -- which is absurd as populations mix in the country.

Once again, Thais being devious instead of doing the right thing and focusing on getting the job done well.

This is a deeply idiotic movement, started by the western liberal progressives in the EU, US and WHO and others. We should shut down this nonsense at the source.

The biggest and most obvious problem with this idea is that pharma companies will never again come the world's aid  -- when China releases the next wave of viruses on the world -- because it will not be commercially feasible. 

Of course the Asians (Thais, included) will push for freebies because they are experts at exploiting western economic openess.

Knowing Thailand, they will get the vaccines free from Pfizer and Moderna and AZ and STILL charge Farang in Thailand triple what they charge Thais.

New big outbreaks all over the country, but no doubt that magic 2.5K reported cases will remain stable.

One factor nobody seems brave enough to talk about is that there could very well be more of these viruses leaking (deliberately or not) from certain countries (or one in particular) with increasing frequency. 

China has at least tens of thousands of dangerous pathogens... And a military that is actively experimenting with them. This is not disputed.

I know where to find them already... But, not as convenient as if they were on obvious display. Unis work, but you'll pay quite a but more. Going daily penalty can be as high as a the cost of an iPhone... Worth it, though. ????
