Can I mention a water bill scam? A few months ago the lady came round to read our water meter. I heard my partner querying it and sure enough it was 100+baht higher than it should have been. I looked at the bill and told my partner to wait . I went indoors and found the previous month's bill and meter reading and showed the collector this thereby proving that she had overcharged by 20+ units. I told partner to pay her the correct amount. The collector knew she'd been rumbled and gave wais and "kor tort". I made sure that all villagers were made aware of this theft. BTW I'm the only farang in the village so it would have been easy to assume that it was a "farang can afford it" scam but it turns out that she was scamming her own villagers.

That photo was actually "leaked" 2 years ago. Still, you and the rest of the hate mob scoffed up the red meat as usual. Yawn ....

Pad Thai street food....60bt. Rent 1 bed apartment 1month...6 to 8k bt. There: all the above are prices I observed in Bangkok last week. Now give Madrid rough equivalents please.

Ok, I read the first page of comments and with only 2 exceptions they were all negative towards Thai life, culture, police, taxi drivers. These comments came from posters who've been here for decades (as they continually boast) yet they never miss an opportunity to put Thailand down. My question is: WTF are you still here? Yes the Farang Connection was in Surin near bus station. Last time I was there it had a rival opposite called Green Mango. Both were nice places.

Lots of the usual cabbie bashing on here today. I've never had a problem in Bangkok or wherever I've lived in LOS. That maybe because I was a taxi driver in UK a lifetime ago and know from experience that many customers are rude and ignorant so I always treat the driver with the respect they deserve. Yes, I've had drivers refuse to use the meter. No problem, no hissy fit, no tok tik. Just walked away and got the next one.
