  1. "Happened to me ages ago". Try doing it now. Money laundering laws have really tightened since 2020. It definitely is to do with Brexit. That's why the entitled, monied elite lied through their teeth to get Brexit over the line before EU passed laws to reign in off shore tax avoidance.
  2. Not simple. To change address the bank now asks for proof of residence eg name on electoral roll, utility bill in bank customer's name etc. I've just been through this worrying procedure.
  3. Airport link train from BKK or Red Line from DMK to City Centre 44 bt and 33bt respectively. Ok, tourists with luggage want the convenience of a taxi so prominent notices at Immigration in many languages should inform tourists to insist on the use of meter. In decades of using Bangkok taxis I've had one bad experience and that was on my first visit. Bangkok taxis are among the best in the world.
  4. Jeez, bet you're a wow at parties!
  5. What's the view like from your high moral ground?
  6. You mean the disgraced former PM Johnson? The guy who spaffed £millions of taxpayer's money on vanity projects. The guy who oversaw police numbers plumett to an all time low. The guy who oversaw the closure of police stations and magistrates courts. You mean that guy!
  7. "Sea level rise is trivial"! Tell that to the islanders of archipelagos in the Solomon Sea and other areas in the South Western Pacific. Straight out of the Trump handbook on climate change denial.
  8. Last time I went there I was refused non o multi entry based on marriage because although I had copies of wife's house book and ID card, original marriage certificate I didn't have wife's Kor Ror 2 (change of name) paper. I understand this was only insisted on by a new officer at the Thai Consulate. This was just days before the border was closed cos of Covid. Have found other satisfactory paths in the meantime.
  9. The only people who use the "divisional woke narrative" are those on the blinkered right of politics. In UK they are known as Little Englanders and rightly mocked.
  10. You couldn't wait to shoehorn your ignorant nationalist post into the OP story of a convicted thug suspected of being in Thailand could you? <deleted> have boat people got to do with this?
  11. I also have no idea where Khaosan Rd is and what I've read about it seems I've missed nowt. Bangkok is however a vibrant exciting city to visit but the business and main tourist areas are not "filthy" Look at Silom, Lumpini, Sathorn areas.
  12. "They" do not think you're a pr*ck if you tip e.g. waiters, taxi drivers, cleaners. I agree with the rest of your post but the last paragraph is testicles.
  13. Brilliant summation quandow.
  14. The fact that US and UK have recently elected such outrageous liars as Trump and Blobby Johnson shows the absolute need to fact check.
  15. I've said it before. Bangkok taxis are among the best in the world.
  16. Dr Sima in Ubon city. I had one eye operated on in 2021. Cost 25,500 baht. Quick, painless operation. Check him out online.
  17. Just ban these anti social, dangerous toys that are not only a danger to marine life and the environment but swimmers also. I lost count of the times my head was nearly taken off by these motorised thugs while swimming off Hua Hin beach .
  18. Last week we met family at Swampy. 2 metered taxis to Silom. Both cost under 500 baht including tolls. Bangkok taxis are among the best in the world .
  19. UK never lost it's sovereignty in the first place. Jeez, it's like pulling teeth.
  20. Brilliant summation enoon. Trouble is, it's not just the idiot mob who are suffering. All Brits with the exception of Mugg's 1% are adversely affected.
  21. I know, it's like saying "Carribbean British passport holder".
  22. All the more reason to steer clear of a "legitimate visa agency" and DIY.
  23. Yeah right, life in Thailand has been so much improved since the latest illegal coup eh?
