The problem is that doesn't help me getting to and from my hotel from the ferry. Also i intend to drink at night so riding a motorbike pissed is not a good idea.
The ferry-hotel thing is not an issue as Lomprayah has a 150 THB mini van service to each point of the island. Same for going back if you book at a travel agent, they´ll pick you up. I´ve seen private people offering the same service on Songserm and I think Seatran does that too. If you stay in Lamai or Chaweng you can walk home or take a taxi bike in between as these are the only points with night life (or did I forget one ??)....ok maybe Fisherman´s village

It is also in Russia as it is in Usa interest, that Europe is destabilized.
Definitely not in Russia´s interest. Only the USA are interested. Espacially regarding relations with Germany (George Friedman/STRATFOR speech). In this context Ukraine also comes to mind (Victoria Nuland "**ck the EU").
IMO there is no good or evil side in wargames. It is only evil

Honda Dream is very good. I have one. Reliable, cheap to repair (if needed). Wave is also good. Yamaha, Suzuki (semi automatic) are ok, but Honda is much better if you want to sell it one day

You could try Stevia products. 100% natural. Tastes a little bit like liquorice though

Best go in a few days before and get an answer and the officers name to refer back to when another officer tells you what you have is "no good"
I did, but the same officer is changing mind

but to be on the safe side you'll want regular sized photo printouts on photo paper in color.
Wed. 22.04. Samui Immigration does not want printouts on photo paper (family photos and google earth)

My new passport is here to pick it up already. Have to go to Phuket though. I hope that everything works this time.
Generally I`m not so thin-skinned but the ever changing rules and the fact that some things (e.g. Photos) can´t be understood (reading the application form) and the resulting uncertainty, especially having a family, has attacked my nerves lately. Well.......
Thanks for the replies.

I´m a bit confused. I posted about this issue before but was wrong about one, maybe essential, fact. So, my application to change from retirement to marriage visa was denied because of a missing TM 30 + they didn´t like the fotos + validity of passport. I (wrongly) understood that they had put me on a 60 days tourist visa, but in fact it is a 60 days extension of probably the former RV. My question is if the extension is good for applying again at the local immigration or do I have to leave the country to start all over again from outside ?
Thanks

I would go for a generator. I´ve lived with solar energy quite a long time in Spain. Lights are no problem, but the fridge already is. A/C, no way, unless the dimension of the insallation is according to this. Biggest problem and cost: batteries.
The sun doesn´t shine when you need the electricity (rain, night)

I think you need a "Certificate of Residence". That´s something you get from Immigration. 500 Baht for as many copies you want. Take more than one because you will need it for registration of the bike and the drivers license

how often do you take something in your Pickup that wouldn't fit in an SUV?..
...often. And I will do so a little bit later today when it´s cooler. Neighbour has a stack of wood to give for free.
I´m not sure if I´d go for a Pickup living in Bangkok.....maybe??

I would ask this question the other way around. Why don´t you want a pick up truck?
For me there are not enough disadvantages compared to a "normal" car for not having a pick up.

The seller doesn't need affirmation of address, the buyer does
Not true, at least not where I live

Insurance is on the car and is sold with it (if still valid). You need the docs from DLT (or go there together with the buyer). Certificate of residence or work permit from you and if the buyer is falang, same for him.

Better options in Andalusia might include Seville, Cordoba and Granada. I can still remember the Alhambra, even though I went there years ago.
If you've got serious cash, check out Marbella and Puerto Banus.
You are absolutely right about this. Depending on your lifestyle. I lived there in a Natural Park, my house, sea and mountain views and lots of space around. I loved it. But I don´t go out too much. If you need more "life" then the places you mentioned (or nearby) are better choices.

Any thoughts ?
I have. Spent 14 years in Almeria province. Now I live in Thailand since 7 years. Andalucia (depending on where you stay) has a very bearable climate, also in winter. Lots of sun. Almeria 340 days a year. In the coldest months (Jan./Feb.) you still have an average of 18-20 degrees day and maybe 10-12 in the night. You would like to have some kind of heating device though. Or go to Thailand. The main factor for me was that even when it´s cool, the sun is shining. Very few grey days. Blue...
To tell you more I would need to know more about your requirements
If you like you can send me a message and I give you more information

There is an English guy here on Koh Phangan who started to make sausages as a hobby. Very good. Could be a Cumberland type of sausage?? I don´t know. The texture is more coarse than for example a Bratwurst and it comes in a natural casing. Apparently he sells them, as I ate it in a French restaurant close to where I live. I don´t know the Englishman but if you are interrested you could call the owner of "Nai Suan Restaurant" (google it). His name is Hans (German name, but he is French) and ask him. I also could ask him, in case
