IT has effected it.  Look at the global news.  Tourism is tanking.  Chinese new year OFF, the USA is hit with new cases this is exploding.

It's the same scam condo developers use: guaranteed X% rental return over X time.  NOT!  Developers hook you to believe they are giving free money; instead developers are jacking up the price then they give back your inflated purchase price portion calling it guaranteed rental income.  Uh huh! Look, at the end of the day, it's your life, it does NOT matter to me what you believe in.  Live your life as you see fit.  You have to be accept it, it's your choice.  Stand by what you believe. 

As I said before...if thailand cared they would do something, but they DO NOT CARE.

I have had many expats friends already pack up and leave, the rest are wrapping things up either they die here on their last leg, or leave soon, but almost every single one is moving on.  Sadly, Thailand has changed, but we all admit we wish it didn't we would like to stay here...not worth the hassle or fight anymore.

Who cares!  Heading to Skyfall to see my thai honeys and buy a couple rounds for them.  Unless Australia cuts me a check and buys a beer for me I don't care anymore than they care about me.
