  1. I appreciate all the other numerous comments on health improvement methods, but being an insulin dependent Type 2 Diabetic, the most important for me is the sugar content in food/drinks which IMO should be approaching 0% - use "sweeteners" instead . During my 20 years in Thailand, I always had trouble finding non-Thai "low sugar" or "sugar free" products, for example mayonnaise, salad cream, fruit juices, jams and carbonated drinks etc. etc. (the Thai products were IMO disgustingly too sweet). The Thai Mitr Phol Sugar Corporation invariably "lobbied" politicians whenever there was any suggestion of sugar controls. Fortunately, here in Siem Reap there are many international brands of sugar free, no added sugar and reduced sugar products on offer in the larger supermarkets, many imported from the UK, EU and Australia. With respect, I know many of you find sweeteners disgusting and that I should stick to a strict "diabetic diet" but it is my choice.
  2. I wonder how long before we read about Chinese tourists in a Tour Bus or a Boat accident????
  3. How about recruiting the likes of Manuel??? (UK TV Comedy Fawlty Towers)
  4. For reference, also in Cambodia, should anyone decide to do a border run (28th January 2023): "Authorities cracked down on illegal ‘vape’ or ‘e-cig’ suppliers in Siem Reap.....................Anti-Drug Bureau forces implement the crackdown on businesses that distribute prohibited e-cigarettes" https://www.khmertimeskh.com/501228588/vaping-crackdown-in-siem-reap/
  5. Maybe the Thai postman/lady cannot read an address written in a foreign language??
  6. When I lived in Thailand, I always used the Thai Post EMS facility which I could track on my computer.
  7. I am in a similar situation, but with cards from my friends in the UK. Unfortunately, postal workers were on strike prior to Christmas and International mail was just stockpiled. Still waiting today - 30th January, maybe the cards have disappeared into a "Royal Mail Blackhole" ??
  8. "Nice One Cyril" (UK) The song title is a reference to Cyril Knowles, a left back who played for Tottenham Hotspur. It was released before the 1973 Football League Cup Final where Tottenham played Norwich City. (Wikipedia)
  9. Amazing! Yet again Safe & Trusted Thailand for tourists. With respect, anywhere near Hell Fire Pass on the Death Railway??
  10. Possible - I never go near the sea or deep fresh water.
  11. Sadly, no crash helmet?? RIP young pillion passenger.
  12. Well done lass. Keeping in with "spirit" of the occasion!!
  13. Are you commenting from personal experience? As a retired forensic expert with the UK Police Service and 20 years residence in the rural North of Thailand, I find your comments offensive if you are referring to Thailand in general, if just Pattaya then no further comment from me as I hated the resort - just 2 overnight visits in 20 years!
  14. Unfortunately "NO". I cannot swim and do not like the sea!
  15. Perhaps symbolizing they work as cashiers????
  16. I was quoting a reference from an article printed in a Thailand Tourism publication warning tourists about "Jet Ski Scams" I did not "buy into" what was stated.
  17. For reference:- The Thai jet ski scam is actually quite a simple one. A foreigner rents a jet ski in Pattaya or Phuket for an hour or two and goes off to have fun. When he returns the jet ski, the owner tells him it now has damage on it that it didn’t have before he rented it, and will often even produce photographs to prove it.............the photographs have been photoshopped while the poor unsuspecting tourist is off having fun on his jet ski but now the Thai owner wants 40,000 baht ($1,300) to pay for the cost of the damage.........this is often done in an intimidating manner and with a group of Thai men hanging around looking threatening................ simply pay up just to avoid being harassed or threatened........................ https://tastythailand.com/do-not-rent-jet-skis-in-thailand-its-famous-for-jet-ski-scams/#:~:text=The Thai jet ski scam, produce photographs to prove it.
