    Yes should have used a fluent German speaking Thai tour guide, there must be a lot around .............. on Koh Kha Ngan. By the way do these 'Legal' Thai guides have to pass any tests at all in language proficiency ?, and who would be able to test them ? how do they register? Or is it just a matter of buying a red flag with no local knowledge at all.

    I disagree as I have said I have been asked using the money in the bank method, they can ask either way if they want to. What you tell them is up to you.

    Years ago, They got my wife to ask me how much my pension was, I said you tell him it's none of his business, I have never been asked since. Edit That was money in the bank method.

    Lucky you had an app for making video calls then, on your phone with internet connection, did she hold phone at arms length to see her cutting rubber trees ? Did you use your UK sim or did the officer call her from his phone ? Personally I would expect a long term GF to meet me at the Airport.

    Utter nonsense they do not 'Burn your brains out' if dried and mixed with tea, maybe if you eat them raw. Wales is the place in the UK, the cows look very relaxed as do the sheep, that munch on them all day, got to go early morning though to find them.

    Any company affiliated with Pickfords would do that. 'Allied' is one. Pickfords have been going for 400 yrs apparently. Hopefully they have upgraded their transport since then.

    So you bent to their wishes, to save them so much work, no way would I lock up so much money just so they don't have to work so hard, I'm self funded for medical expenses, and may need to withdraw my money straight away, or even for house/car repairs etc.
