  1. Slight of topic, but there is an empty closed bank, near me, They have re-opened the currency outside exchange 'booth', have never seen anyone using it, he sits inside an empty closed bank all day.....................🙄
  2. Yippee do da day, 10k worth of Lao Kho, and a bucket full of Yabba tabs, what could possibly go wrong ?
  3. Was it your Idea to involve a solicitor ? Probate is normally carried out by the provincial family court (at a nominal fee if any) and normally takes 3 months max, using a solicitor could have made it drag on. Just saying no offence intended.
  4. You just said the judge, so it did go to probate. Wills mean naff all, all deaths go to Probate mate if seeking funds. No IF about it. but I guess you don't wont to know that.
  5. I gave practical advice, he asked if it was a good idea, I said No, relationships can go sour even after many years. Why the OP bothered with his post is beyond me, he has already made up his mind to 'give' it to his wife, so whatever any members tell him, he will obviously ignore. Pointless OP. imo
  6. Yes it would be easier for her, but in reality when you do die, it would take maybe 3 months, to get the letter from probate court, then everything here you have, is hers anyway. I made a mistake some 20yrs ago by putting a car in my GF name, 1 yr later she 'stole' it and sold it the same day ! to pay her mothers gambling debts, so I was left without a car as you would be. Once bitten and all that, but your OP asked the question, so why did you bother posting it, if your willing to just walk away ? My answer remains the same, It is NOT a good Idea.
  7. My friend was once asked what is the English for P-ass-a-port ? 🙄🤣
  8. Please register any vehicle in your name, no matter how much you trust her, her family will Always come before you. I presume you live in Issan, Anyway there are some good driving schools here, but some are better than others, I can thoroughly recommend the one in Chanthaburi ( I think it is called 'advance driving school' or something like that). My wife took her test there, it is 20hours over about 3-4 days, not consecutive. it was less than 6k a few years ago, you use their duel controlled cars, they actually take you out on the road !, when they think you are ready, and you can keep trying over and over all day, not only on the computer questions, but on their track, it even has a roundabout, they take you for the medical, 150b, and to the Government office to get the License issued. The staff were very helpful, they even took/showed us to the nearest Motel 500b a night. I asked my wife what happens if you fail ? (nobody does), "just go back and try again" The highway code is given to you, to swat up, I have never been so impressed by a Thai business, no extra hidden charges, + they show the 'students' how to check oil and the date on the Tires, they have vending machines for snacks hot drinks etc.. 10 out of 10 from me. You could always go there and have a week or two, visit Koh Chang etc.
  9. Change that from Phuket to THAILAND please.
  10. Oh I wonder how he got the name Sergeant Punch ? did he like fruity drinks ?
  11. As soon as I read your headline I came here to recommend an E-Visa......oh well you know now. But next time just make sure you go to the Cambodian Govt official site, I had a friend who got one but payed about $10 more as it was an agent in Vietnam, their site looked very similar.
  12. Pick a new one ? Service exchange ?......................
  13. Right at first glance I thought it was a dress..................
  14. Never had that problem with a government hospital, first visit is normally a bag full of pills, then told to go back on the day the specialist is there, normally around a week later. I guess you work in a Private Hospital.
  15. I have had a hot toasted sandwich put in the same bag as a yogurt, a milk drink and a bar of chocolate
  16. Only sometimes ?...................
  17. Also worn by Teachers for 'special occasions'
  18. Thanks for all your replies, I was talking my wife today again today about this, and she has already told her, I will not lend her the money as I may get sick and need the money myself to pay hospital bills(I'm 73 now and not in the best of health) and the lady has accepted that reasoning, I also asked her how did she pay for cremation anyway " her friend lent her the money" 🙄 and she will get the insurance in 3 weeks, so I said "good her friend can wait for the money then" . 👍🏻 🍻
  19. I knew of an 'agent' who was on KC you had to go with him to Jomtian, but could do 90 day reports on KC. Of course all agents "pay off IO".
  20. So you don't have money in the bank ?? what new province ??
  21. My wife organized his ceremony It was a 3 day event as most are, first day coffin arrived from BKK forensics am, everything set up, some chanting, food eaten, next day more chanting and taken to the oven, next day after the ashes had cooled down over night, removed from oven and bones smashed up, and sieved, put in the cloth, with some marigolds similar to this, and taken out to sea with 2 monks on board. (that could cause problems to boat engines and props.) but afaik they are all taken out like this from 'our' temple.
  22. I have no idea what he did before or a pension, and I don't really care, what I do know he was working here illegally as a visa agent and paying/bribing a Thai immigration officer he had known for a long time. He should have been arrested for that alone but TIT.
  23. They don't 'bury' them at sea, they are put it a white cloth that is floated on the water, what are you on about the 'remainder' the Temple is on a river, but you have to take them out of the estuary, otherwise they will come and go with the tide, my friend was a falang not Thai...............................................................................................
