A 'friend' of mine has been asked to lend a 50k to a Thai lady who he has known for 18 yrs, Her Falang 'husband' only a temple wedding, has just died, he was no friend of my friend, in fact he disliked the guy for various reasons. She wants the money to pay back the cost of his ceremony, until the insurance pay out, this bloke has not left any money for her, and the icing on top of the cake is that he was a VISA AGENT ! with a contact at an IO that I won't mention, so making a living illegally here, I have told my 'Friend' absolutely no way buddy, friend or not do not lend her any money. Do you agree with me ? what would you do ?

Couldn't agree more, with all those copies needed, what bugs me the most is once they have my 26+ copies I then see them scanning them into a computer, they could just scan them direct from the originals, at my IO I must take our witness along too, (and she must be present at home visit) which means I have to pay her a days lost wages + lunch, and drag her along for hours to gather all my KOR 2, Copies/bank cr@p , get our photos printed 6x2 , have a new one of me, must be dated the same day, we live on KC so the cost of 3 returns on the ferry+car, and then they take the desk photo, then back again to get the stamp. Then the cheeky IO says oh why not do retire 'visa' marriage to much work, I then point out, Politely "well don't blame me it's your rules not mine" "Don't get angry" she says,.....................

I'm guessing he 'Resigned' rather than being sacked, that way he can keep any pension due to him. ..........

Rubbish he rents many rooms out in his house, and I was living there for 3 months in an Old camper in his Garden, and I met him and his Thai wife here in Thailand. I have never claimed Housing benifit and That would have been fraud.

That's the whole point the unfair system of freezing pensions is the reason many don't tell them they are not living there. As for the NHS how do they know you have been living overseas ? I suppose you are going to shout Fraud now.

I had a very nice understanding guy at the bank who opens accounts, in fact on one site I visited someone said he was very good, and I even told him I was 'going' to live in Thailand, he just smiled and said don't worry about it, so I didn't and haven't.

I use BKB for sending money then transfer it to Krungsri, they take max 20min for my annual letter and statement, not days, my IO require everything to be dated same day.
