Ceiling Insulation
You can buy rolls of double sided silver, and lots and lots of contact adessive. OP I suggest a trip to Global House to see the options, I think I also saw one with interrogated wire.

Non-O retirement Visa renewal
As said you need the money in the bank one full year, since your last extension, so IMO next year should not be a problem.

PM to discuss possible cabinet shakeup with coalition parties

weed killer
I don't have that problem with that as I don't use it if rain is predicted. It doesn't kill anything near where I spray, it takes up to ten days to work, once it had dried on whatever it's sprayed on it doesn't dilute again easily, even if it does rain. I use this one posted by sirin

What breed of dog is best security to protect ones house in Thailand?
Almost any old mut will alert you to 'visitors' but a street dog will not want to be closed in, unless you get a young one you can train, where will it poo & pee.

What happens if old Farang dies in Thailand having made zero preparations? (Better?)
Well that would depend on where you live, bearing in mind I live on Koh Chang, and they have to make 2 trips (first one to your local Amphur to register the death) it was 43k but it would have cost me maybe 25k+ with fuel, ferry, hotels, getting to the embassy, back to police forensic, coffin ...I thought it was reasonable.

What happens if old Farang dies in Thailand having made zero preparations? (Better?)
From memory I payed it into their Bank Account via an ATM. But you could contact them all the contact details are on their form.

Nor is my wife but I wouldn't want to put her through all that is involved, from where I live, at least 2 trips to BKK and even then would have to arrange to get my body back to KC. She would still have to deal with the OZ embassy. (The Cremation, Family court, wait for probate, then the banks would still have to be sorted by her.) Until one has had to deal with, then they wouldn't understand the stress. Much much easier to pay a funeral director to deal with the bureaucracy.

Where have all the doggies gone?
Maybe they will all be back after the water throwing has ceased.

Renew a passport.
The PP you have your visa/extension is the only one that counts, yes you can have another countries PP but without your extension in it Immigration would not give a fig if you had 10 PP. Your Nationality is whatever PP your extension is in. You would have to re-apply if you wanted to change that.

A simple cremation in a country Wat with no attendees is around 5k, no food.

What happens if old Farang dies in Thailand having made zero preparations? (Better?)
It's almost the same here, your death must be recorded at your local Amphur, before the body is released, and probate is carried out at your Province family court

Rather a selfish argument IMO.

Depending where you live, and whether the local cops send you for autopsy, ours insist even if you die from natural causes in hospital, the cost just to deliver the body to your wat of choice, could exceed the actual cremation costs, it all becomes rather complicated, with all the paperwork involved, I strongly recommend using a funeral director company to do all the leg work, to your Embassy, going to your local Amphur to register your death, then back to get the body released, dress the body, put in coffin then delivered to your Wat of choice. This one was recommended to me buy the OZ embassy 20 people attended my mates 3 day ceremony my wife organized the cremation, with food came to 20k so I think that's a good ballpark figure. A nice simple form. where it says 'other' just put the name of the Wat.

This subject has been posted so many times. Yes we all get a post mortem. That could be handy for a motorbike stand or brake lever.

After autopsy you will be buried in a paupers grave, unless they have changed it to cremation by then.
