Been looking at the HP 2133 netbook, all the reviews say it's nice design but overpriced because of the slow processor, I've seen it in Power Buy Bangkok for 17,000 baht but Fortune Town has it priced 9,900 baht + v.a.t. with Vista installed.

Anybody have any comments on it and if so is it a good buy at 10,000 baht.

I noticed a threat recently about credit seemingly disappearing from a 12-Call sim, but I cannot now find it, or even remember which forum it was in.

My account zeroed out last week despite making hardly any calls, on Friday I received in excess of 50 sms messages saying I had insufficient funds to complete the number dialled, and I had not dialed any numbers. 125 Baht of the top-up I made on Friday has gone, I have made no calls and received only one.

Perhaps I am being fined for being a billy no mates, but seriously can someone help me?

Had the same thing happen to me last year when I bought my Iphone I left my email account open on it and it slowly drained my credit about 100 baht in less than two days.

TAT looks to home market

Foreign tourist arrivals could fall 50% next year, so the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) will focus on the domestic market to compensate for the loss, says Juthaporn Rerngronasa, deputy governor for marketing communications.

"The TAT will miss its [foreign] tourist arrivals target of 14.5 million ... this year. But we can't calculate exact damages and losses caused by this political problem," she said yesterday."What we're sure of is the number of tourists will definitely fall next year but we can't set any tourist arrival and revenue targets for 2009."

For next year, TAT will clearly focus on market segmentation and new areas such as the elderly, with packages to match their demands. "Thai people must help each other. If Thais travel more inside the country, it will help to drive up the tourism business," she said.

That should take care of at least the first few thousand baht lost, I wonder how many Thais will come to stay in the big 5 star hotels. I particulary like the line "Thai people must help each other", anyone bother telling the PAD that.

Saw on the news that the airports were to begin normal operations on Friday, 5 December 2008. Just in time to honour the Kings birthday.........by exiting the country and many never to return as well as telling theor friends to stay clear of Thailand.

Maybe now they'll start to realise that they need foriegners in this country when businesses close down and people start loosing their jobs because the amount of tourists has halved next year.

Just came back yesterday, you need one copy of each but it doesn't hurt to take extra copies you also need to take your original marraige certificate and certified translation if needed.

The collection time has changed from 11.00 am to 2.30 pm.

Sorry didn't get the amount should've done but was so p****d off not getting the year, went last year they give me a three month and said if I got a letter from my wife saying we were together they'd give me a multi, so went back the next time with the missus and no problem, but no matter how much I tried this time they were not going to give me one.

All they asked for were bank statements I don't think it matters if their Thai or foriegn as long as you have the 400,000 in the bank.

In the UK the cheapest I've found is £103 on Amazon for the new version. Are they cheaper/more expensive in Thailand?

Around 5,500 baht for a 4g version, but the thing is the accesories are so much cheaper at the likes of MBK.

So you can select the file to attach with ease from the Explorer window that pops up when you choose File 1: ______ [browse] ?

And you can add multiple files then, with the total size of attached files being less than 10 Meg, press [Attach Files] you get the uploading/scanning bars (moving four squares), and then the page returns to the compose email screen?

So you do not get returned to the compose email screen?

Which Yahoo email server are you using, one based in Asia or America, Europe?

I get the impression that the connection is being lost while the files are being transfered from your PC to the mail server.

Can you send an email with a smaller attachment? A simple text.txt file that has the word "hello" inside.

Solved the problem (sort of) I went back to Classic Yahoo and they are now attaching, but it's a bit of a pain because I'm so used to the new version.

Bit loose on describing what happens when you try.

First line of attack when looking at browser related issues is to clear the browser's temporary internet files(cache).

Guide with pictures. Or this one.

If that does not help - provide some more info, what is the size and file type that you are attempting to attach?

What is the error message if there is one?

More questions - but let's see what happens first....

The downlaod bar shows they are downloading and then clicks off as if they've finished but it still has the message Scanning and ataaching.

Got a problem over the last week or so trying to add attachments to e mails sent by Yahoo on a TOT connection, previously I've never had a problem sending them and I haven't made any changes to them.

Is it a TOT thing or is there something I can do to rectify the problem, searched on Google but couldn't find an answer.

Thanks for the pointers, told her to stay well clear of it but still not sure about these [email protected] e mails she's been recieving since the scam, as everyone says best to ignore them and stick to the ones that that are not suspect.

My friend has a small hotel and a couple of days ago got the I'd like to book 6 rooms at your facility by my VISA CARD scam, not knowing any different she replied and recieved a response asking for to charge for the rooms and also take out 142,000 baht for the rooms and 300,000 baht and transfer it to a "logistics company" to pay for the travel.

When I found out I told her not to make any further contact, but since then she's had a couple of dodgy looking bookings coming from two seperate e mail addresses ([email protected]), when I googled it it comes up linked to scams.

Anyboby out there have any experience with this of thing.

You could restore to 2.1 again and this time not download the "updates". Or let the MBK ppl do it

I once installed the wrong thing with installer and the phone app stopped working - couldn't make calls. I upgraded to 2.1 - which is really a full software restore - and all was well again.

Upgraded my Iphone to 2.1 last week yesterday I opened the installer there were four items ready to download, after they downloaed I couldn't use the phone and the installed extra games wouldn't open although all the rest would, maps, calculator etc. I then went to installed apps and deleted them all apart from one named Mobile Enhancer v3.0 which I'm sure wasn't there before but it doesn't let me delete it.

With it being an unlocked phone could I use the "reset defaults" option or is it a trip back to MBK.

On the general subject of 1-2-Call accounts, how do you check your balance?

I am aware of the *121# code for regular 1-2-Call SIM cards. I have a "Net SIM" and there seems to be something about checking balance with *121*1# and I don't understand what that's all about. I'm told its something about "bonus" but I don't understand why.

And with a Net SIM, is there a way to check how much time is left on the Internet access capability? When I activated the SIM I was credited with 30 hours of network time, and don't expect to need more than that for my trip, but it would be nice to know exactly how much is left. The only means I have of that, presuming AIS is honest, is to use the connect time counter within the phone.

Just trying to put a lot of albums on my Iphone but I can't add the artwork, keeps telling me to go to the Itunes store, how can I use the artwork I've already got. There used to be an artwork tag on the info page for each track but now it's not there since I upgraded to the new Itunes.

Hi there. I am planning to go to Kuala Lumpur in October to apply for a 60 day Tourist Visa. Does anyone know how many days it takes the consulate? I know in Penang you pick it up the next day, but in other places you have to wait two days. Thanks!

I usually take the 7.00 am Air Asia flight gets in for 10.15 am, take a 700 baht taxi straight to the consulate and get my Non O back the next day.

Maybe you just need it unlocked again since the upgrade if so then MBK do it for 500 baht, I know it's a bit late but you should never upgrade your phone from Apple.
