  1. Just been to Korat Immigration and they gave me my 60 day extension no problem ( Non O runs out 15th Feb).

The office is next to the petrol station and Toyota garage just after the intersection for Korat if your coming from Buriram on the 24. The staff are excellent went in the girl at reception checked all my paperwork she then filled in the form and gave me everything back with a number to wait. Theres also a coffee/juice stand outside a cafe next door with a photocopier

A real pleasure to go there it's a pity they don't send them to train immigration staff at the airport.

  2. Don't need it, just turn on tethering. Check the internets to find how, it's very simple.

PDANet sucks anyway, my iPhone got so hot I thought it would melt when I tried it once. Since tethering superseeds PDANet, I don't think it will ever get any updates either. Don't buy!

Thanks you've made my mind up, think I'll spend my 29 dollars on stocking the fridge with some nice cold beer Chang instead.

  3. Got PDANet on my Iphone but it's now limited can't open emails and such, it cost 29 dollars to purchase a fully working version has anyone actually paid up and registered as I'm a little unsure about using my credit card on line with them.

    Thanks,

  4. I'm sorry but a free 1,900 baht tourist visa wouldn't sway me to spend my 100,000 baht holiday money in Thailand, I would also think the big spenders are the people on the two week holidays (lot of money to spend in a short time) and they get a visa on arrival.

Whats stopping people coming is the uncertainty as to whether it will still be safe to come three months after they've booked their flight and hotel.

  5. Was there last year with my wife, same as you had never been there for 16years but still found my way around ok. We stayed at The Largos Hotel one minutes walk from Jordan MTR all newly refurbished hotel even the carpets in the corridors were immaculate 2,000 baht per night approx.

Just across Nathan Roads Temple St great food from the cafe on the corner about 200 baht per dish and beer big bottle 90 baht, The Peaks an amazing place now with Madame Tussauds there but be prepared for a long wait for the tram not like before when you could just jump straight on for a couple of dollars.

The light show at the harbour starts 8.30 pm not to be missed, Wong Tai Sin Temple really nice place to visit right outside the MTR station and totally free.

Take the shuttle train into the city from the airport takes you into Kowloon Station and easy to get a taxi from there, it's nice not to have to fight to get the meter switched HK taxis won't take a set fee but they might charge you a couple of dollars for baggage.

I'm sure after 18 years away you'll still find all the familiar places Star Ferries still the best buy in the world although the terminal frontage on Hong Kong sides changed a lot, not as easy to find the bus station now.

  6. I want to update to 3.1 but I've got a video app "cycorder" that has a lot of video footage on, anybody know if it's possable to transfer this app to my computer so I don't loose the videos.

I tried asking at MBK but no help they could only save the photos.

    Thanks,

  7. Usually extra holidays are announced at the last minute so this time the government wanted people to be able to plan their holidays ahead and of course boost tourism.

What a miserable bunch some farangs are on this thread. Thais get few holidays, most certainly can't take 2 weeks in a row.

Well said, totally agree with you.

  8. [Kev C how long did it take you to think of that one? You live in another country obviously everything is perfect . Is it wrong to say what is not right? Or have you become as brainwashed as the Thais? Talk to them and see how much of the constant propoganda they actually believe.....perhaps all of it! Glad to see a Farang also cant think outside of the box, soon you will be drinking LowCow have 3 gigs have stopped working and knock your Mrs around then you will really blend in!

Whats all that about, wheres the propaganda fit in with extending the biggest holiday of the Thai year, should it all come to a stop because you don't like it. When you came to live here (I take it you do live here) you must known what to expect and if "thinking outside the box" turns me into a grumbling know better than everyone else expat like a lot of people on here I think I'll stay inside my nice'n'cosy box thankyou. By the way whats 3 gigs?.

  9. >province declared disaster zone

    >300,000 provincial residents are lacking sufficient warm clothing

Why just not go and BUY some for themselves? Why they awaiting something which is very normal in their normal life, but they waiting that from someone and for free?? What kind of f.ing "cold disaster zone" can be found within of an area of the Tropic of Cancer???

These news always being a nonsense (me myself came from the place where -30'C is a very common day, and winter is for 9 months/year - and NOONE call it "disaster" as far as I remember).

Once again - Welcome to Thailand: the frozen land of hubs and crackdowns. :)

Your right this is a sh*te place to live why don't we all just go home.....................what?.
