I was warned that I would not be allowed to re-enter Thailand, and that my only option was to leave through the Bangkok airport. Despite this warning, I insisted on leaving right there. However, when I attempted to re-enter Thailand through another Cambodian land border three days later, I was denied entry.
It's worth noting that my previous history includes a couple of years staying in Thailand on Covid visas.
Well.. its obvious you are denied because of visa abuse.
I think your best option is wait for 6 month and try again

Surprised at what? When one gets stamped out of Thailand, they're not into offering advice on options for returning and they certainly won't detain anyone. If the OP did visit another country beyond Cambodia and is returning via Cambodia is of no concern to Thai immigration. They probably saw another 'perpetual tourist' jumping in and out on visa exempt entries so nipped that in the bud by stamping the passprt that he was broke. Problem sorted.
Wrong
If thai IO knows you will come back and yes they can understand that just take a look at your passport, they dont let you leave the country.
Happened to me with my non-o multi visa. He told me he wont let me go because i will not able to come back. And yes cambodia border

cambodia is in asean... cannot do visa run?! all the cambodian and laotion do visa runs no problem.. tried that?

im kinda surprised about the comments.. most of them are like 'turks'... blah blah... i was wondering if you see news more about turks or brits or other nations? tbh im here in thailand for 17 years and most of the news im hearing is about brits.. also.. i know that sometimes labor office asks additional documents from brits that they are not criminals...
i think its not being a turk or else.. its being a stupid person

Turkish people are known to be hot headed type that resolves issues with their fists first, and that buffoon should have seen and know what is going on with the Songkran festivities and tradition he should have stayed at his hotel and not come out, now this idiot will pay dearly for his action in terms of compensation and jail time.
lol confusing Turks with Brits maybe? lol

It doesn't say he can't enter via land border. It just says that he was denied entry at the checkpoint on this occasion. I don't know whether that means that in practice he would be denied future entry at any land border.
I remember some past forum posts about the 'lack of funds' stamp being used whether the IOs actually asked for proof or not.im also surprised how come thai side let him go knowing he cannot come back. normally they dont let you leave the country. so this also makes me think he arrived cambodia from antoher place? and yes the stamp says he is denied via land border. so it means he cannot enter via land border.

after you use no visa entry for 3 times (30+30+30) its like you need to give a rest for 6 months.
i dont know how people say it but its like something about yearly entry. so if you want a clean new entry its always 6 moths. im sure someone will explain it better or
and will correct me if im wrong
also... i still think you are not telling the full story about this. your visa and so on we know you are israelian but no need to be so secretive if you want an answer lol

OP i know a lawyer who can make you thai citizen for 2mil baht.
for residency.. i dont know can or cannot. residency is very different thing than having immigrant visa and proper things.
so you dont have the immigrant visa or money?

well it would be better if you told the whole story in your very first post.
i think you were using visas which can help you to stay in thailand. I dont know your visas. and the IO noticed that you are abusing the visa system and refused you to enter thailand via land border.
the stamp says you cannot enter via land border anymore.
my opinion: the stamp will not help you how ever you enter thailand. there is date on it and so on. I would wait 6 moths and try again

hi
First of all you mentioned something about buying your condo using a law firm. If so i dont know what im going to comment is ok or not in your situation. Thats something first time i heard.
i will make my comment for a house not a condo. I dont know if its the same or not. I know many will say farang cannot have a house. I know that. But im talking about the mortgage for the houses. thats the point. Because you have the same thing.
First of all if you have a house and buy it with mortgage you can rent it without any problem. But there is no way you can sell to another one without closing the mortgage. The way you wrote i believe you bought the condo while still have mortgage to pay. Is this something like both sights sign a contract accepting that after the house payment finish the owner will change the name on you? and did you this with a law firm contract? If so did you choose this way because you cannot take mortgage from the bank because you are farang?
now at this point the condo is under the bank name and the mortgage is under the real owner name which means if the owner stop paying the bank will send some warnings to the owner. for 2-3 months. then they will put a government official warning letter to the condo door saying this house is on the sell. and the bank will put the house on sell on their website. Now this is something many house owners do. My old house owner did the same thing. If the bank put on sell, it goes cheaper. So the owner dont pay and wait for the bank to put on sell and buy again very cheaper. At this point you have nothing to do. legally the house is not yours even though you made a contract saying you will have the house after paying the bank. Here do you pay the bank or you pay via the law firm or you are paying directly to the owner? if you are paying to the bank via mobile app you may have a chance to sue. If you paying via law firm.. i dont know but i dont think the case will be a short one on the court.
did the owner notify or the law firm, about this situation? bank said ok? you have documents for this? Where are the original of condo document? I mean the contract between the owner and the bank, house book?
there are many issues i think. Also i know that no one can sell a condo or a house at least 3 years after bought. its about profit and tax. If its 3 years old you must pay 5% for the name change. if its more than 5 yrs its 3%. did you pay this also?
i would get another law office advice about this. i suggest siam law office. but there are many others.
now totally my opinion: at this point i dont think even you have a contract or so on you are still not the owner what bank sees. because mortgage name is under the owner not you. if they have no confirmation about this i would say you have no rights. if what you scare happens you will know that the bank is selling the house right after 4-5 months the owner stopped paying. and with all the law firm and so on i believe this is a dead end case on court.
i hope im wrong and im sure there are many people will make more and better comments and correct me if im wrong.
good luck

Does that opinion have any basis in fact?
If someone is eligible for visa exempt entry, such as the OP who is a German national, why do you think they can't re-enter visa exempt overland once the multi-entry visa has expired?
well like i said i had F before
F is very special visa. given to government employees or diplomats. OP mentioned he was a diplomat. Dont know for official work or not. If not official work yes no problem. But if it was for work no way he can come back like a tourist so fast. like 1 or 2 days after leaving thailand. its a government thing. dont know how to explain
happened to one of our employee. thats the basis of fact. BUT as i said.. i say again it was many years ago. If it changed i dont know.
-
hi
i had F too before now im using non-b instead of F. Im still working with Royal Thai Airforce.
yes, F has lot of great advantages but not always. I dont think you can come back via land border. Most likely you need to fly out and stay there for a week then can come back or apply for a TR visa there and come back.
What i did is left thailand and got a new TR visa. and had no problem entering BUT this was really many years ago. So its still can i cannot be sure.
good luck

I hope is just " one " unlucky day here in Thailand... You know... already try Philippines and I don't like so much ... But when I come here in Pattaya, post COVID, everything changed...
Chinese and Russian everywhere, cars everywhere... Not easy to find a good condo with a good price... And then immigration treath you like a s..... Noooo this is not fine...
Really I try to get this visa , maybe with a agent ...
But "if" cannot and I have MANY unlucky days... I quit ( I don't want to go back in my country)
If I'm not welcome in Thailand... .... Goodbye
well.. every one in this post said you can and it was some kind of unlucky day.
If i were you i would try again with some kind of different paper from the hotel? or new printed version of it?
i totally agree with Chinese and Russians thing. Thats why IO takes things seriously..
good luck

The OP seems to have entered on visa exempt or tourist visa and subsequently applying for non O retirement.
A TM30 should have been accepted.
Unfortunately he is dealing with mad hatter immigration office AKA Jomtien.
Read BritTim post above.
Your post is not helpful.
Hmm.. so why the IO didnt do then? Was it OP's unlucky day?
If a hotel tm30 is enough and have examples showing this then i think IO should quit and get a new one

Is not extension ... is first time application
so, do you think what i wrote will be difficult or the IO will think different even though its your first extension. Will it still make sense for IO that you will live in a hotel in your retirement?

With all respect to your life and living style it very makes sense that IO didnt accept your immigrant extension. For the IO it doesnt make sense that an immigrant is/can live in a hotel for the rest of his retirement life instead of can rent a house or condo with more cheaper rent or else.

if its under consideration doesnt it mean that you already gave them all the documents and they already checked them?
if so, i dont think you need to give or show them anything. Just go there and get your extension..
but if you want to play safe just prepare all the same documents you alredy gave them. I would take my wife with me for sure.

This is why they want me to cancel NOW. Hold up.........OK, let's say my school gives me a termination letter in a timely fashion (it is vacation for everyone now, all I can do is message them and then go to school tomorrow to see if anyone is around). If they put a date of say the 28th of April I can do the paperwork in another province? I still thought I had to go to my current immigration office, cancel my extension first, etc......but are you saying with this termination letter I can simply drop off my work permit and leave?
I gotta be honest, I plan on doing it all like before and not take any chances, but I am curious to see what my options are. Maybe they can send me this termination letter next week (say they are on vacation) to my new school. This is LOS, nothing will go smooth; however, it does always work out in the end.
You need to get your termination letter, then go to labor office with a copy of the letter and give the letter + work permit. Then go to immigration and cancel your visa showing the termination letter. I dont think you can do this at any IO. You must cancel it where you extended.
But like i said if you arrange your new school to get ready all documents, the same day at the IO you can get a new extension or continue. So no need to leave the country. I have 2 friends did like that. They said its so easy.
Now.. for another province. My friend was working in udon thani and started work in bangkok. Now he didnt want to leave the country. Like i tried to explain you. Same day all done thing. So at the udon thani immigration they wrote a document for bangkok immigration. Saying he has all the doucments ready and he will do all paper work in the same day. He showed this document to bangkok IO with his new documents.. IO called udon thai IO and confirmed the story. 10 min later he had his new visa and so on. So you probably need to do something like this.
If i were you i would make it clear with your IO now. Tell them the situation like my friend did.
If you dont want stress.. do the proper slow way: go to labor office cancel work permit, same day go to IO cancel visa get 1 week for 1900 baht. Leave the country get your new non b and welcome back
I strongly suggest dont just leave!
Good luck

Interesting.
I was made redundant late 2017 (work permit and extension good till mid 2018) which was perfect as I was going to quit anyway as I was needed at home (family matters), collecting that 10 month redundancy payout was a welcome bonus !!
HR cancelled my work permit but not my extension as I needed stay for a few weeks.
I flew home December 2017, left the country with "valid extension and multi re-entry" in my passport, was duly stamped out without issue.
With family matters sorted I reached out to some Thai companies looking for work and was offered one to start after Songkran 2019 so I came back to Thailand on a B-Visa, no issues at all converting to a new extension.
Not saying your lying because each individual will have a different experience with Thai bureaucracy or maybe things have changed in the past 10 years.
Maybe because you left with 'multi entry' ?
Well like i said i wrote what happened to me and my friends.

Thank you for the replies. As the Nakhon Phanom Imm. Off. has never exactly bent over backwards to make things easy - or even less than insanely difficult - I think a trip to pick up their own forms is advisable. (*heavy sigh*)
im also victim of online form download. Sometimes forums are not same. some follow old type some follow new versions. Its always best to fill them at the IO. you will lose only 5 min to do so. safety first

I have other questions about changing province and hope you don't mind me asking on your thread.
Are there other things that need to be considered besides immigration?
Will I need to change my address for my driver license?
Will I need to get the plates changed on my motorbike?
Any other things that need to be changed?
2) yes you have to because the address on your driving license will be your old address.
3) many people do that. because you moved there. My friend bought a car from another province and the changed the number plate first thing.
1 & 4) after TM30 i dont think you need to get a new extension immediately from your new IO. i think you can wait till it exoire and time to do new extension. Better ask this to your new local IO.
good luck

When you arrived to thailand you need to report where you are staying in thailand to IO
this is called TM30
you can do this via mobile app or going to IO by yourself.
you need: house owner ID copy / your passport copy / rental contract copy
Extension for Cambodian nationals
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
