  1. you are aware that he got the wrong stamp at his entry point. so i was wondering how i can be incorrect when yo and me are saying the same thing?!
  2. well i think i understand what you are saying. but i just cannot understand how an embassy willingly help to someone not legally staying here. This is not about the other country immigration law. its like.. you are helping a criminal. in my opinion to get a service from embassy, you need to show or prove that you are here legally and have the rights to do things. joining what you are saying.. if i were the embassy stuff.. i would not accept the passport and tell him to go to the proper place to fix the issue then i can help. if he feels he cannot fix it, as my duty i would offer him what he can do in this situation. but when im aware hes not legally in thailand and i will do some official things with him.. nope, i would do anything. actually you know what i would call the immigration and send a car to the embassy because i just caught someone over staying. i think its part of my duty. i have seen on youtube that the UK embassy calling cops on people who are giving fake documents. so whats the difference here?!
  3. well you need to answer this question.. why your visa expired.....?! (thats the topic) then answer this.. you go to your embassy and ask for a new passport, it doesnt matter its expire or other reason. and now imagine they give you a new passport without checking... you have a valid visa or not.. they need to check you are here legally or not. thats so normal.. i dont know you but normal people gonna think.. ops something is wrong here. now another story you might mentioning. maybe you want to say your passport and visa expiring in the same time? well its totally your fault. you need to follow up this. arrange the timeline. i seriously dont want to believe that ANY embassy can issue a new passport without checking you are here legally or not?! thats that simple. and i also cannot understand how you are ok with this unless you are an illegal person LOL there is NO way you can stuck in a country.. lol
  4. with all respect, if any country embassy accepts to give you a new passport without checking your legal staying in thailand (via stamps or visa) doing the worst developed thing. then any illegal person can go to the these 10 most developed country embassy and get a new passport without any problem. wow... thats crazy. thanks god i can be safe and my embassy can lead me to the right way because they are checking my status if i want to do anything with my passport. non-developed countries 1 - 0 10 most developed countries..
  5. and i cannot believe why you so surprised when an IO doing his job. having a visa doesnt means you will granted to the country. which is very normal if there is a reason IO believes you are not welcome here for a reason. IO has the full power to reject you. here it comes... you answered all of your questions. there must be something IO noticed on your previous visits or something like that. so, i think you need to calm down and let it go. I dont think IO was wrong. seems you were not too. But he just wanted some info or maybe check few things which is so normal. I have friends cancelled their non-b and left the country to get a new tourist visa so they can find a work or do their paper work for another non-b.. thai embassy didnt give them TR visa and told them 'you stay long time already, go back to your country and get a visa from there' and believe me they deserved more than you to come back to thailand i think that explains why you need to calm down
  6. you have 2 options: 1) this is the best option and really waht you need to do: go to the immigration in your area and tell them you just noticed this. and ask them to fix it. they will. 2) stay for 7 months and exit from the same place you entered. i strongly suggest you go to the immigration office and fix it or do what they suggest. There is a very very little chance they wil ltell you to go to the IO where you entered and get them fix it. if this comes up ask immigration to write a note or something explaining the situation.
  7. they are checking the visa you are on and the dates. so a normal working IO will see the problem in 2 minutes. its really easy to see it. but if a lazy one and just checking the stamps, he may let it go.
  8. i really dont know how many years ago, i would say 10 yrs ago or something like that. i went to bangkok for some reason. went out for some drinks. i saw this farang on the street with a sign on his hand saying 'please give me a job, im doing logistics and marketing' he was sitting on the street.. nothing different then beggars. i mean it. some people put money in to the can next to him. his clothes were all damaged. cave man facial hair.. of course i cannot be sure of that but i dont think he has a visa or a passport. probably sold the passport for food. another thing is police was probably 100m away from him. there is no way they are not aware of him or not saw him. that night i saw how a ;person can be desperate. felt sorry for the guy i felt like well its what you did to yourself. but on the other hand i was like who knows what he had... i hope that man found a peaceful solution and an end. just wanted to share the story
  9. they will not renew it if you dont have a valid visa
  10. im also divorced. I used an agency to stay on my non-o marriage extension. My ex-wife and i didnt go to the immigration and cancelled my non-o. later i left the country after covid. I came back with a non-b visa because im working. went to the changwattana IO for my new non-b extension. Everything was ok TILL officer noticed my old non-o without cancelling it getting a new non-b. Immediately she asked me my wife's Id and our marriage certificate. I was s hitting myself. i thought game over. then i told her i dont have with them. she asked me if i have copy of them. luckily i had in my phone. went to copy shop. she took all the copies then i asked her if i need them again for my next extension she said no she wanted them to CONNECT and LINK my new visa. she also told me actually SHE should be with me here but she said its ok. i trully believe she let me go because i was talking to her in thai and very nicely because she said i look like a good man. simply she just let me go... i was lucky no question. so what ever you do from now on they will ask about your ex non-o marriage visa. because you didnt cancelled it visa immigration. i hope you will be lucky as i was. If you will marry again that will be a 100% problem for you. they will ask for your divorce papers.. and they will see the date on it and your date on non-o visa... that will be a problem. i suggest you to leave the country and come back with a TR visa. OR go to immigration and report. PS: your lawyer is right but he is dead wrong. yes, you can stay but like i said it will create more problems in the future and you might not be lucky as i was. dont listen to him about this
  11. it is as same in many countries. in any country immigration ahs the right to check.. dont panic.
  12. did savanakhet thai embassy non-o visa for 3-4 times. never gave my laos visa. never asked. rest of the list is correct
  13. i dont know what you mean... if your extension is based on retirement, it doesnt have anything with your marriage. so you can continue. But you need to go to immigration and let them know your divorced (just in case, nothing bad doing this) most probably they will say ok theres nothing to do because your on retirement visa not non-o marriage. you did your retirement extension based on your retirement payment (retirement pension) not with non-b marriage visa visa. tbh i dont think immigration even know or care your married. suggestions from experience: talk to your wife.. sign a contract. what you want to have, what she wants to have: house, car, kids, etc. go to a lawyer and both of you sign a contract before divorce. another info, this is thailand if one side doesnt want to divorce there will be no divorce and the court can take 2-3 years. dont think your wife is very nice.. very kind.. she will not do anything after you divorce. trust me. if shes that nice shie wont say anything you are making things safe for you. after divorce you have no rights in thailand. you bought the house,car.. doesnt matter. they will be gone. if need more advice message me im sorry for the bad news about divorce. i know what and how you are feeling.. sad but reality. good luck
  14. agree with OP. its getting that dark thailand... with all these farangs doing funny stuff around. also working at home was not that bad
  15. totally agree. just use this forum to have an idea and then go to a lawyer and see your options. though it seems he needs to talk to his wife before doing anything and make things clear.
  16. From what i read, it seems you dont trust your wife or wife family or the other way. maybe im wrong and hope im. and seems you kind of scare to be homeless. i strongly suggest you to talk with your wife while shes still alive. Agree on terms such as the letter i mentioned to you. your daughter will have the house but you will be guaranteed to be living in the house without any complications till you die. then go to a lawyer and make it legal. I strongly suggest you and your wife talk to a lawyer what you can do. best for all sites. a common contract. Dont trust you are/were married to her, it doesnt mean anything in thailand after she dies. after she dies you have no right about anything. no house, no car, no nothing. forget about them. Thats why you need to go to a lawyer and make things clear. There is another way you can do but im not sure if tis too late or not. When i was buying my home with my ex-wife (we were together at that time) the seller asked me if i want my name on the house book. i said well sure why not, then she said i must pay 70% cash. then i told her no, thanks. now if there is a such thing, maybe you can talk to a lawyer & a real estate agency to arrange something like that. For example you can try to sell the house in 2 parties. again as you can see all you really need to do is go to a lawyer. like it or not.
  17. what you can do is, ask them to write an invitation letter to you. you can join some english activities.
  18. first level parent (her mother or father) then siblings (brother, sister) will get the house. Government get the house only if there are no people left in family tree. in OP case most likely brother will take it.
  19. not 100% sure but, both of you can go to a lawyer and she can sign a document saying she is the real owner and let you stay and live in the house until you die (you and she can put other conditions here). this is what we did with my ex-wife after we divorced. im pretty sure similar thing can apply in your question. OR again with a lawyer she can make the owner of the house her brother UNTIL the daughter comes to age and also give permission to you staying and living in the house without any complications till the daughter comes to age. Then the house will pass to the daughter. Meanwhile the brother has no right to do anything to or with the house. only keep the house till she comes to the age. i would go with the second option. But let the lawyer understand that till the daughter comes to the age no one can do anything to the house. this will secure you. BUT keep in mind that this will limit things, maybe cannot sell the house and likewise things. PS: if you dont take any action, the brother will get the house (most likely) good luck
  20. what was your overstay reason? medical, health issues? i mean 2 weeks and you are trying to do a border run, and most likely you were expecting come back to thailand because you were doing border cross. i just cannot understand how some people can be this relax and comfortable. why didnt go to mukdahan-savanakhet border? they are the most friendly border. you said you will leave thailand for good, i truly dont believe that. so next time dont to overstay and dont try to blame or criticize IO. he probably refused you to leave because he knows you will come back and most likely rejected. actually he helped you.
  21. probably they will let you enter this for last time. its obvious you didnt re-educate yourself with 2 new degrees because you like to study but to stay in thailand. Immigration may ask some questions about this.
  22. yes, its better if you give them 3 month notice if you want to play safe. normally its 1 or 2 months. If an emergency case you can do 2 weeks notice. if you are ok with the school and you think it wont be a problem, just tell them you must leave at the end of the month. Do it with a written letter on the 1st day and ending day will be 30th. keep a copy of the letter for yourself. OR just tell them a lie; maybe your mom is in hospital back in the country, some relatives pass away, etc. if they say we will wait for you just tell them you dont want to be selfish and not sure when to come back, they will get the message. or if you are not in some kind of urgent situation, just wait till the semester ends. i believe another 2-3 months left. PS: i have seen some people quit from work in 1 month. notify them 1st of the month and ending date is 30th of the month. seems fair for both sides. PS2: be very careful with the termination letter. Sometimes they write the date you notify them! that means you will be overstay most likely. make it clear about this. PS3: they like to give the letter on your last day at work. If possible try to get it at least few days before just in case if there are some problems with the letter. safety first. good luck
  23. normally you should notify the school and labor office. many years ago one of my friend wanted to leave Thailand. Border immigration didnt let him leave the country without seeing termination letter. But again my other friend did leave without showing the letter. They were both leaving from land border. They stopped him because they want to be sure you are not running away for some reason and also if you paid your tax or not. Also he didnt cancelled his non-b at immigration too. As mentioned if you can leave without any problems, there might be some problems if you come back and want to work again. First of if no one cancelled your work permit it will be in the system. most likely they will ask for termination letter. Here you can try a risky solution, just find an official thai government paper. Can be printed from many websites. Ask your wife to write the letter on computer and let her sign. it worked for one of my friends. They will just check the date on it if you are overstay or not. you can write a power of attorney, termination letter and have your wife return the work permit. For the immigration she cannot do anything. you need to be there in person. when you leave the country your visa will be cancelled if you dont get a re-entry which you will not get one. Im not sure about the work permit though. I believe it still stays. a friendly reminder: if you not notify the school your working, and just leave like that you will break the contract and doing something illegal. Most likely nothing gonna happen BUT if you have some enemies there they may sue you and trust me you will lose. It can even end up banning you from working in thailand. Again most likely nothing gonna happen but just bare in mind. good luck
  24. Well i worked as a marketing & logistics teacher at one of the universities at Khon kaen university. Many years ago. My first years in thailand (now 17 yrs). They paid me 28k + 8k. No salary raise and nothin, not even my workpermit. Then i moved to another school in khon kaen. Very famous and big. 35k. And again no raise or else... This is where i learned how thai people threat farangs working for them. Then with a help of a friend finally i started a job what im really trained for. Royal thai airforce. Hired by thai government. Starting salary was 100k and raise every month. I was lucky and thnx to my friend. Teaching in thailand is not a good idea. Thats all i can say
