Bourbon Street did a good christmas lunch, stayed there on one occasion, no problems.
"Not to mention Purple Flying Machine and Kangaroo Bar !!! Lorettas on Soi Cowboy"
Lorretta first bar in BKK I went into, recommended by the Scandahooligans who owned Mermaids Rest. As for the Kangaroo well I'll leave that to others.
Happy Days.

As you say
Whatever suits the individual, a Visa Agent suits me and B12K, cum on.

Now a friend is telling me of a new agent setting up who will collect at your place and do everything, just leaving the actual visit for the 12 month Visa.
Oh the New agent is a well known person of high repute.

As one gets older one loses one's Power of memory.
My Visa Agent has just reminded me when my Retirement visa is due and to make sure that the money in the account I use is correct.
This caused me to check when my next 90 day is due. 3 weeks and I know at at the 2 week point they will send me a reminder to take my Passport down to them.
They take the strain, I suffer the pain, B city.
Mind you back in the days when I did my own 12 month visa I forgets just what time I had to be up by so I could quew up for a Number and then spend a hour or two waiting to be summoned to see first an Intern, first check on all documents, then a Police Sgt for his check and finally The Major who actually signed off your visa.
Now I cough up and I deliver my Passport then collect, a couple of days later, for the 90 day and I produce one live body at immigration, meet their man, (apologies for not being correct in your modern manner ), from the agency and then see the Thai Official who signs my Visa.
5 mins last year in Immigration.
I wish all the best to the young pups who have so much time on their hands.
For me 5 mins is more than enough.

Years ago an agent was a worthwhile expense for persons in your situation. Nowadays it's a waste of money as CM Immi is so much more streamlined, friendly, and with fewer clients - For the duration of Covid travel restrictions anyway.
No Sorry wrong.
Very Happy spending my tinny income having a Pro do the heavy work for little old me, yous young Pups can keep CM immigration, the 5 mins I spent there last year where more that enough for me.

My sympathy to folks having problems with Thai Immigration. They drove me round the Twist (Old British saying ) years ago.
For many years now I have used the services of a Professional Visa Agent here in Chiang Mai.
Not expensive but takes the hassle off my shoulders, at my advanced years I do not need *&^*ing about and prefer to let a Pro do the business for me.

Saturday night we had heavy rain in CM.
My Set Top box would not work, no downloads from Net.
I Called Si net and they sent 2 tech on Monday morning. After a hour they told me my Internet card in my iMac was defective and would need replacing.
I called Magic and the owner agreed to come around my place that night. He spent an hour checking and told me problem was my Norton security was interfering with my Download. O aked him to deactivate Norton, Now back to normal service. Very good people to deal with.
2 Speedtest before and after.

Small thread hijacking ???? but do you think they can hard reset a Ipad, after being completely locked out without ID or Password remembered (Kids Ipad, nothing inside).
No one can hard reset an iPad without the correct information, up to the owner to provide.
Why on earth did you post.

The iCare center in Chiang Mai is now on 3rd floor of the mall at Airport Plaza.
Very helpful, put me on a call on their system to an Expert in Singapore who talked me through the problem I had, he knew the answers before I finish giving problem.

Long term viewers on CM forum should remember the post by a Moderator on a write up by someone applying for his PHD at CM uni, about 5 years back.
Ethanol and its production is what has caused the massive increase in smog.
The Gov wanted E fuels to reduce the high cost of importing OIl for gasoline/diesel. Farmers were encouraged to grow Corn and Sugar cane from which Ethanol is extracted..
Farmers were burning off waste from Rice before Buddha, to put nutrients in the ground, it is and always has been the cheapest way they can do that.
There is far most plant waste from Corn/Sugar Cane hence massive rise in pollutants in the air. Government created problem, requires Gov solution.
CM is in a Bowl not a valley, two ranges of hills East and West, Khun Tan to the south and go north and you soon come across another range of hills, add to that that we have an Anticline above CM you understand why the smog is trapped above CM.

Rather mild this year. That very heavy rainstorm a week back and the shower later cleared a lot of the air.
I drove down for my seaside get away and much less burning didn't notice any untill after Lampang.
Nothing will happen until the Gov gets rid of the E fuels which have resulted in massive amounts of waste being burned off compared with the old style rice that's gone on since before Buddha.

Northerner, Thank you for your reply.
In the time since I first posted I have found that the route via Nakhon Pathom allows me to bypass the RED infected area around Samut Songkhram.
I want to go down past Hua Hin to Prachuap Khiri Khan.
Chiang Mai is not nice during the Smog/Burning season.
