  1. 150k Bht may be next to nothing to you, but to some of us it certainly is. Where is The Big PX please?
  2. Yes, you can do a SWIFT transfer from your Thai bank account and specify where the exchange takes place, here or the receiving bank. I don't see where Revolut comes into it.
  3. I see Rimmer corrected the spelling of Darkside. But should it not say 'More food choices on Darkside? I am only trying to indicate bad English, which could make it easier for members who's first language is not English to understand.
  4. Did you read your headline before submitting it?
  5. I take it you mean from your Revolut THB balance. With Wise one can either send from either GBP account, or THB account. Either way, it costs about the same. You can keep your eye on the Exchange Rate GBP to THB, and convert to THB when it is good. Then send it to Thailand when you need to. Never done it with Revolut, but if you need it to show in your Thai bank as a Foreign Transfer for Immigration purposes or to buy a property, Wise has a box to tick for that reason, but takes 24 hours longer to get here.
  6. Can someone translate the headline into proper English please. I know 'Thailand recogniseD AS Popular Destination........'
  7. Of course the exempt amounts can be added together, what other way is there? And no, you cannot be cheeky and try to claim your wife's allowance if she has already claimed it.
  8. All these answers are off topic as the OP is asking about the last 8 days.
  9. The way I read it, someone over 65 gets a 190k allowance, plus 60k for himself, plus 60k if married, plus the first 150k @ 0%.
  10. Nah, dahn Landon it's samfink! Down there 'th' does not exist, it is usually substituted with V.
  11. This is written down by my local taxman , and agrees with the recent post from Charlie & Mike, which clarifies it perfectly.
  12. Thanks Mike & Charlie, the best explanation of it all.
  13. From my taxman, for an over 65 year old....first 190,000 is free, plus a 60k allowance, so there's 250k. After that 0 - 150k is at 0%, 150 - 300k is at 5%, 300 - 500k is at 10%, and so on. So in my case I can have 400k before I pay any tax, then I have 80k @ 5% = 4000 baht.
  14. I bring in Bht 40k per month totalling Bht 400k per year. With various allowances and the tax threshold, I shall have to pay around Bht 4000 at the end of the year even though there is an agreement with UK.. Confirmed by my local taxman.
  15. Can you imagine Ringo or Mick singing 'I want to be your man'
  16. That's what I meant. Sorry I should OF made it clearer 5555 Hahah
  17. should of, could of etc.
  18. I went on a Transcendental Meditation course for a 5 days back in 95, an hour a day with 20 other 'mugs'. We were given a 'mantra' and told to keep it secret, only for one person. Turns out we all had the same word to 'think about'....KIRIM! and all paid 500 quid for the priviledge. Did nothing for me, and never has done since.
  19. Thank you. I shall stay away from Apple ! 555
