Close Bangkok bank account?
I just had my BK bank account frozen a few days ago. It is a secondary account that I use to pay bills with <25k THB in it. Opened a few years ago with a Non O visa based on retirement. I haven't had a chance to go to the bank to find out what is going on yet but having one's bank account frozen definitely makes me want to close this account once I am able to get to the bank.

Will the baht continue to get stronger?
In the orange man's first term the USD was as low as 29.6948 THB in 2019. It seems we could get down to 30 THB per USD again in the orange one's second term. https://www.exchangerates.org.uk/USD-THB-spot-exchange-rates-history-2019.html Best exchange rate: 32.335 THB on 01 Jan 2019. Average exchange rate in 2019: 31.035 THB. Worst exchange rate: 29.6948 THB on 31 Dec 2019.

The U.S dollar index is now under 100
The dollar index has plummeted from 109 the day that Trump took office to 99 today. This will translate to lower exchange rates for the U.S Dollar. Are American expats here concerned?

Thailand Holds Off on 30-Day Visa-Free Change Decision
I see the pathetic and hopeless Thai bureaucratic state is at it again. The constant flip flop by the clowns in the banana republic. They don't seem to understand that people are tired of putting up with their nonsense and many will move on from Thailand.

Thai tax tangle: Expats warned of new rules on overseas income
They will want you to pay taxes on the value of the card you sent to the minister. That will be 30 Baht tax, please remit to the TRD. 😆

Thai tax tangle: Expats warned of new rules on overseas income
Now, watch them change their mind yet again in about a month. The Thai bureaucratic state is full of incompetent baboons. They've done a lot of damage with this whole tax situation and caused a great deal of stress and grief to Resident Expats in Thailand.

Thailand Introduces Online TM6 as Tourism Fee Faces Delays
I was referring to Resident Expats, their numbers will be decreasing over time due to the nonsense the Thai Bureaucratic state subjects them to.

Thailand Introduces Online TM6 as Tourism Fee Faces Delays
Yet another example of the Thai Bureaucratic State trying to prove their worth or value added to their government heads. Other examples: TM30, 90 day reports, fees already built into airfare departure tax, arrival tax (to come within the year). ETA system (to come within the year), proposed revised/reinterpreted income tax rules., foreigner pricing in national parks, dual pricing in hospitals. These pathetic Thai bureaucrats just can't help themselves. Their actions will continue to drive people away in drips and drabs over time.

Its Happening - Law to Tax Overseas Income Now in Progress
I'm planning to close my Thai bank account this year also as I will only be staying in Thailand between 60-150 days going forward. If it comes to fruition, the worldwide income tax on resident expats was the last straw for me on top of Dual Pricing at hospitals and national parks, past TM30 debacles, departure taxes built into airfare and also the new proposed arrival tax. Thailand seems to think they are the center of the universe but they are not! It makes one wonder what new scheme will they come up with next?

Baht becoming ridiculously strong

-
What's behind the current THB strength?
USD now down to 32.89 THB, Will it dip below 32 when peak tourist season arrives in December?
-
What's behind the current THB strength?
USD down to 33.16 THB just now and the Fed hasn't even lowered rates yet. I can see the USD at 32 THB by the end of November.

Its Happening - Law to Tax Overseas Income Now in Progress
If they get away with the worldwide taxes and then the farang only property taxes, one will have to wonder what other taxes or fees they will feel empowered to levy next. That's why I won't feed the bad behavior and only stay 179 days or less.

Its Happening - Law to Tax Overseas Income Now in Progress
If they want to tax Resident expats, then they should also let us in on the 30 Baht health scheme as well.
