Flood insurance is a problem. In North Carolina even hillsides were flooded. You aren't going to get insurance that covers it all. It can't be mandated because insurance companies will just leave the state. I mean NC was hit be a hurricane but flooding was the cause of most problems. That isn''t covered and most likely hurricanes aren't either. Nobody is going to cover wildfires going forward if they ever did. I recently bought a small piece of land near Crystal River and will build a very small place, hurricane proof and self insure. Nothing else makes sense.

I just bought some land on the Gulf of America side about 7 miles inland. I thought the drilling might bother me but I don't care. I came here in a truck hauling a camper to get started. There is also a nuclear power plant in the area. There are million dollar homes and trailers. I love Florida.
