  1. When will we see a Carpenters thread ?

The correct term is "tree product manipulators"... wouldn't want the carp to be offended !

    totster

I think the word "Carpenters" was also copyrighted and trademarked by that musical group from way back when.

While were on be careful who you call carp. Fishmongers of the world will unite never mind the fresh water tacklers association :o

  2. Hi Suiqinq,

Thank you so much the outlay of your house, look's stunning... I like the "fake" chimney, that's a cool add on... the bedroom must then be situated above the kitchen and maid's room right?? at least that's what I tried to figure out, 'cause both attachments were ground floor.. I will send PM for details on builder, looks like he know's what he is doing... I like the idea of hi ceiling above the living room...

Sorry, I forgot to show the upstairs. As the build progresses things naturally change. We have made the stairs to the upper floor open plan with a gallery ( looks much better ). Please speak to the builder, his English is first rate, you will not be disappointed.

( no spam, I just think if you find a true, honest craftsman, it's good to share )post-29794-1153531557.jpg

  3. That looks like one beautyfull house, I do hope you will give us some more pics further on in the building process.. :o what is your estimated building price incl. the pool?? looks like a chimney up there on the second floor?? what is that for?? oil heating... just kidding... but curius.. how many sq. meters are we talking here?? sorry for the many?? but am interested in building a house there soon(Thailand).. is it a free houseplan or did you draw yourself??

    Hi

The cost of the house is around 6.3 Million. That includes all bathrooms, pool etc but not the kitchen as my builder refuses to get between a woman and her choice of kitchen. I sat in my man,s office told him over coffee what I required, we made same sketches there and then which he took to BK to be formalized and made into plans. The builder is a star. Honest and sets very high standards. He has brought down to Pattaya just about all the materials as he was not happy with the standard ( or spec with the steel ) of the local stuff. The house inside is around 400sqm with 2000sqm of garden. The master bedroom (80sqm) is the only upstairs room, the rest is false giving high ( and I mean high) ceilings to keep the place cool and save on aircon ( whole house aircned Daiken in the price ). You can build cheaper, but yo get what you pay for. I am happy to pass on the builders details to anyone who sends a PM. Oh yes, fake chimney, just thought it looked unusual for the area.

  4. My mum came to HK after I'd been there for over twenty years. It was hot, so I offered to buy her an ice cream, she refused shouting ( yes shouting ) that you should never have one in a foreign country !! The shouting was because I'd bought the kids one. they were born there !!!

God knows what she'll eat or drink when she gets to the LOS at the end of the year.

  5. Roy also touches on Pattaya folk law. I have been told that when my gutters get clogged with twigs, grass and the like it is bad luck to remove them. Seems if you get a pair of Tits intent on breeding and depositing their bedding in your house, woe betide you if you turn them away !!!

You have to love this culture.

Ps: I have a sense of humour, but no sense of spelling......sorry.

  6. Roy, the first batch you showed us were pheasants.............well hung, game birds !!!!

Further to my last, these latest birds seem to be well plucked, basted, and seem to be geting a ###### good turn over. Good on you for bringing ornothology to the masses !!!!!

Perhaps next post, a magnificent pair of tits......................Blue, Coal, Great ?? :o

  7. My father-in-law was thrown on the street by his wife, where he died in a home for mendicants in HK. I have noticed over the years that ladies have long memories and abusive husbands, strong in their youth are often surpassed in both physical and mental toughness by their wives in their dotage. Moral of the story........be kind at all times to your charming Asian wife, or wake one day to find the boot is on the other foot and suffer for it.

  8. I thought all the "man-hole covers" were in Boyztown ? :o

This post has hit the nail on the head. i think it is important we go back to the original poster and clarify what he actually meant by "manhole covers". Did he mean shreddies, boxers, y-fronts, even thongs ? Or did he mean manhole covers ? Puts a whole new spin on the case if the body was found next to a pile of soiled undies !!!! :D

  9. That's a grate thing to say.......if his family take offence to your words, their lawyer may sewer you.

I trust that your wit is now drained of further comment.

Careful there mouse, your "holier than thou" attitude could get you capped !!!

  10. I,m with the above on Index. Good quality but at a price. In the new pile I'm throwing up in the beautiful Pong, wife and I loved a kitchen set up in Index. We were quoted a price which would even make Bill Gates wince, told my Thai builder who promptly went along forgot to mention he was representing Farang thus was given a 30% discount on the spot.

It tends to work that way just about everwhere here, get a Thai friend to do the biz after you and yours have made a choice, then nine times out of ten you will be in pocket.
