  1. I also married a Pattaya girl. 21 years ago. Still very happily married.
  2. Depends what bank you send it to. In my experience, SCB is by far the easiest and quickest. Bangkok Bank used to be good but now experiences delays. Kasikorn, in my experience, useless. Endless delays with K-Bank when using Wise transfers.
  3. Hello. I broke my coccyx three years ago at Pattaya water park on a slide. In the years since it has improved through lots of lots of specific exercises and physical therapy. But I know it won't ever heal. Flying in planes can be especially difficult. Does anyone know where I can purchase Lidocaine or Lidocaine patches in Bangkok? Thank you!
  4. Xiaomi very good. I have three, all excellent, very durable
  5. Ermmm, the legal basis was introduced in 1972 but it was completely ignored by everyone until Thaksin's first term as PM.
  6. Hello all. I have searched on the forum and can't find a specific situation related to my situation. I would appreciate any advice. We are preparing documents for our planned trip soon. I live and work in Bangkok and hold a work permit. But I have a question on the flight tickets. Do I need to pay for the flight tickets (for me and wife and kids) before I apply for the UK visa for my wife? Or better to wait until after visa process? Any ideas? Thank you
  7. Not true. I regularly transfer amounts of about GBP2,300 to Thai bank account. Takes a couple of mins
  8. All of these tax services companies are all doing the same. It's called stoking fear to drive up business. They think we're stupid.
  9. A couple of Leos does the trick for me.
  10. Horrific. Deeply distressing. And what angers me is that the Thai authorities won't do anything meaningful and effective to prevent these terrible events to happen again and again.
  11. Hahahaha. Man you gotta wake up.
  12. Customer service in AirAsia is non-existent. They are the worst. Their whole system is designed to ensure that customers lose money on any changes of schedule or cancellations. I have stopped flying with this company because of this. I work in India quite frequently and now only use Indigo. Who are excellent by comparison.
  13. Yeah the DWP is great. Very flexible and easy. But the Thai authorities, I'm afraid, are not really up to date. They are wholly confused with anything digital and ask to see a book all the time, despite the DWP being issued by the Dept of Labour. You just have to do print outs from your phone and hand them the paper.
  14. DWP is, erm, a digital work permit. They no longer issue work permit 'books' - at least not for BOI-issued work permits
  15. I have worked for four years now with a digital work permit that has no fixed address. I am legally allowed to work from anywhere in Thailand.
  16. Yeah me too. CBD Oil does nothing for my sleep.
  17. There is a war in Burma. Civil war.
  18. I just completed this quiz. My Score 30/100 My Time 94 seconds
  19. Please, when will this forum shift away from these 'Thailand-sex' posts and queries. It's so boring.
  20. Years ago I knew an English guy who was in exactly the same situation as you. The 'brother' was actually the Thai 'husband' (and had been for years and years). In this specific situation (about 16 years ago) everbody knew apart from this poor English guy. They also had a small child. The relationship ended badly, as things things tend to, and he went back to the UK. The child is still here.
