Another shopping centre, just what Bangkok needs.
Indeed. Don't ever let it be said that Thais lack creativity.

They have a similar system in place in Singapore and other countries.

the child in the house if she is unvaccinated, because, according to many of this forum unvaccinated people are as bad a drunk drivers and are a danger to everyone else because they spread the virus, make mutations and harm at risk people....so should be segregated and denied their rights.
I agree. Unvaccinated people should be arrested and detained. Perhaps they should be executed. Shot. I haven't made up my mind yet.

We were always told, as kids growing up, to "man up" and accept responsibility for our mistakes and learn from them.
Thai people never never accept responsibility for anything that goes wrong. Just not Thai style. Always someone else's fault.

How sad! ????????
Now we must all scream and cry!
Pure BS! Everyone that lives in another country on bare minimum just have themselves to blame. We all know that exchange rates goes up and down. Not been much at all in the way of 'up' in the past decade.

When you see them discussing tourist projections it's always only in terms of anticipated income, anticipated amounts spent per head. They never seem to take into account that these tourists are human beings that should be treated kindly and given protection from the ever increasing local criminal elements, and given medical treatment when required without patting their hands together with glee and seeing an ill or injured foreigner as someone to be financially gutted.
It’s a numbers game for them. But then again hasn’t it always been. It’s just not Thai style to care about other people. Me first, that’s all.

It is 50k baht if married to a Thai. If not it is 80k baht.
Great to know. Thank you.
I am on my second year of 60k (and am married to a Thai).
I plan to apply for PR after third year of taxes.
Thanks

massage can also reopen - the latter being foot massage only.
Yes, there'll be lots of places to get some nice foot massages. Pulp Fiction like.

Lies from the Thais? Surely not. I refuse to believe it.

Thai police officers are nearly all Thai males. 'Nuff said.

Makes me so angry that 'officials' all urge people to get vaccinated. Have they any bloody idea how bloody hard it is to get a bloody vaccine. Idiots.

I have a digital WP. Got my AZ jab in June, no worries. 2nd supposed to be in Sept but no notifications at all.

Can confirm? Is it paying tax on 80K or 50K? I thought it was the latter?
Is it possible to apply for PR through paying tax on 50K or 60K per year? I hope so!!
Thank you.

I have worked for many years in Thailand for a foreign firm.
Use a PEO.
It's legal and easy. Pay tax, pay social security (and receive card and vaccine rights), and get work permit etc sorted by the PEO.
Couldn't be easier.

I’ve been here many years now and it never fails to amaze me the level of idiocy that some westerners display in relation to drugs. What a <deleted>.

It's a mistake to start sleeping in separate rooms. I know from experience. You've got to get that loving feeling back.
Tell your wife that, from now on, you will be sleeping back in your bedroom. Your boy can sleep on the floor or in his bedroom. Lay the law down.

The man was in the wrong of course. But typical Thai style to make a point about his skin colour.
Thailand: where racial profiling and discrimination is as strong as ever in the pandemic.

No, not at all.
Living in Bangkok my and my family can isolate - and have access to all we need at a couple of clicks of a button.
Living upcountry, where we have a property, it is a case of everyone - mainly her extended family - coming and going as they please, usually looking for something to eat or talking about something to eat. People popping about all day with no work to do.
At a time when there is no safer strategy that keeping yourself to yourself, I know where I would rather be.

16-year-old girl rescued from drowning in Pattaya swimming pool

Unfortunately in Thailand most parents don't bother. So sad to see on Thai news so many children drowning. It's a national problem - like driving - and like the latter doesn't receive any government priority.
