  1. Have been on non immigrant o for thai child which expired on 25 march 2020.

I followed the news of border closures (laos in particular) and due to a need to get a visa from the laos consulate on the 19th march as well as doctors letter claiming I was asymptomatic, I was unable to make it across the border in time to submit in the morning of Friday the 20th for pick up the following Monday the 23rd march.

I did manage with great difficulty to cross into laos at mukdahan on sunday the 22nd march, border closure had been announced and many laos were rushing across the border home.

Closure of the thai consulate had also been announced, and while thailand did not want to let me out as they said it was closed to foreigners, I managed to talk my way across and I was told I was the only foreigner to be allowed out of thailand into laos that day.

As I was trying to cross in and out of laos, foreigners awaiting pick up of their non immigrant o visas were contacted on the sunday and told to collect same day and get out as borders were to shut Monday.

I obviously did get in and out, but was forced to come back in on a 30 day exempt status.

That visa exempt issued on the 22nd march, expires this coming monday 20 April.

So it is my understanding I am ineligible for an automatic extension, but need to apply for an extension to my 30 day visa exempt.

    Is this correct?

If I had made it out on the friday I would have had a multi non o, but due to the need to get fit to travel cert and a laos visa at the consulate, Im pretty happy I managed to renew at all.

    Sigh.

better to spend 400 baht a year for the convenience

I have never found a corded shaver inconvenient, but yeah, I suppose for some

Smart. Also get a ceramic blade.  I've bought many trimmers.

    Dont buy rechargeable.

You are just begging for an otherwise perfectly fine device that wont hold a charge in a year.

Would you mind ordering a hair cutter on Lazada, the most sold that all Thais buy, and then put in on number 1 cutting your sides and back, and then on number 2 on top, it is the army hair cut and the old classic since ancient Roman times and does require less time then going to the hairdresser. The gadget a mere 700 Baht.

Sorry for the hairdressers, but at this time now I prefer this homemade.

You can get a good kemei for 400. Thats as much as I pay a barber here in bangkok anyways, though admittedly they do a much better job.

Sure... All of a sudden he couldn't breath and fell over dead after his only symptom was a cough.

I'll go with a heart attack or stroke, but as Tropicalevo said, we'll probably never know.

it would seem the nuances of quoted text are far less obvious than I would have hoped.

Then he will have two tanks.

Well it may well be what he needs to keep enough water on hand to satisfy demand.

Harvesring rain water is a good option, but he also needs to check consumption, low flow toilets and showers etc.

Ultimately if there isnt enough water coming in he will need to import.

Sucking water straight out of the mains could lead to a world of hurt for both him and his neighbors.

  7. Install a tank and a pump.

Every house I have lived in in thailand has had this set up.

Have the tank filled once and have mains feed keep tank full with a ball valve.

Of course the people who can "think ahead" will have stocked up and have supply, but it is precisely the people who can't think ahead that we should be worried about and hinder. I suggest that the ban also is psychological, it puts people on notice that this is all serious and they need to pay attention. It's ok with me (and I'm stocked up).

Personally, I dont think ahead when it comes to alcohol because it is low in my list of priorities.

I cant imagine feeling the need to stock up on booze for 10 days.

I cant believe everyone is just falling in line.  Even if you believe the official narrative (and i dont), how is staying in doors from 10pm - 4am help?

More and more kids are growing up not to question anything that comes out of the corporate media or government.   Orwell was a bit early using "1984" but im afraid he wasnt wrong.

What do you supppse is to actually be acheived by heading out after curfew.

Everything is closed, being interrogated or detained  is the best you could hope for.

What good would civil disobededience do.

If a barrier was placed on the road keeping me from accessing my home?  I'd dismantle it too.

Notice.  The local Thais create a barrier that keeps the farangs out.  Then complain to 'the authorities' who then bring down the authority of Immigration to deal with the 'ai' farang who are so cheeky that they dismantled barriers erected to keep them from accessing their own homes.

What should be "investigated" is the Covid-19 inspired racism of the Thai locals who (illegally) erected a barrier across a public road in the first place meant to keep foreign resident for reaching their own homes.

But where has it been determined that is the case?

The op is very thun on specifics, where are you getting your info?

Seems to me the raciam and paranoia cut in many directions.

Anti thai, anti foregener, anti chinese, take your pick.

It makes their little willy's feel bigger!

Personally i think any foreigner who feels the need to trot out small penis jokes deserves any ill attention that may come their way.

There may come a time when the hysteria and entitlement of many who post here will become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Keep telling your host government they are idiots, keep calling the thai people monkeys, play don Quixote over wearing a face mask with local business owners, lets just see where that course of action gets us.

After all, thailand would never follow australias humanitarian lead would they?
