  1. Why no ask the Admin. folks or layer who handles work permits/renewals for your company, or personally call the office at the Labour Dept., at Din Daeng which answers curly questions (sometimes called the complaints department but they do more than just handle complaints). Many officer's in that office speak advanced English, they're good listeners and you'll get good cooperation and clear answers. And they give equal care and attention to all foreigners, same as to Thai folks who contact them.
  2. The gap for 1st to 2nd Astra Zenica jab is changing by the minute here in Australia, right down to 7 days.
  3. But there's also the possibility that he had revealed for all to see, the inner commission workings which are often masked.
  4. Well it's also fact that people who test positive for Covid 19 face the possibility of quickly developing very serious complications with breathing and need help from a ventilator and there's the proven possibility of death. A bit different to typical influenza prognosis.
  5. Or perhaps it was 'here's 3million, next bus leaves in 1 second, be on it, bye'.
  6. But would it not be possible that the person/group/nasties/pressure from the boy's family decided to offer 3,000,000Baht to hopefully ensure there was no counter offer, and to get this activity over as quickly as possible? And not forgetting that to the boy's family 3,000,000Baht is a tiny amount of money. Back to my earlier comment, I don't believe this negotiation was conducted by the office girl, seems to me it would have been conducted by 'experienced negotiators' who were working to orders from above and part of that order would have been 'offer enough to get this done now, and with an instruction to not let anything get in the way of fast closure of the payout to the policeman's family'. After all, the longer it takes the more chance others try to push into the activity, and more chance of gossip/facts of what's happening spreads quickly and widely.
  7. Perhaps it's not that easy to describe. I recall that the unfortunately deceased policeman's family were basic suburban folks (not suggesting any disrespect to them). I simply don't believe they weren't quickly persuaded/intimidated into accepting the 3Million offer. Does the RTP have senior (and junior) cops who delight in and are experts at persuasion and have no morals? (Not the point here but such cops exist in every police force.)
  8. They have the guns; they've used them before. Many times. I doubt they're shy to use them again if the public turns against them. True, around 20 years ago (modern history) the army ordered soldiers to shoot down unarmed mostly young protestors in the Soi Aree area of Bkk, some 200 killed, their bodies quickly thrown on army trucks and never seen again. Three powerful ruthless generals lead this action. The son of one of these generals just retired as the army chief, he had no hesitation to make political statements and obviously in love with the glory of the army.
  9. Unfortunately it doesn't have a USB port. But I'm confident the advice already received today is what I need. With thanks to all, much appreciated. On the other hand I've read that at some departure airports and on arrival in Bkk the officials have readily accepted seeing the PCR negative report on the owners smartphone. Others have indicated that it must be printed. I'm sure overall I will survive. Further when I fly I will have received 2 jabs of the Astra Zenica vaccine and at least 1 jab, and probably 2 jabs of the Pfizer vaccine. Hopefully that helps. Further, I'll be flying Sydney to S'pore, then 2 hr layover in totally sealed special room at Changi not connected to the main air-con system, then S'pore to Bkk. On arrival in S'pore passengers can't leave the aircraft until they've passed a 99% accurate 10 minute rapid test. And pass a rapid test on arrival in Bangkok. Buddy of my Thai son (buddy works in health ministry) says theirs some discussion that by December there will very likely be new rules about quarantine: maybe 3, 7, 10, 14 days, and shorter periods maybe self-isolation at home for Thai residents, PR holders etc. Buddy says all of this is driven by the urgency of getting mass numbers of tourists in and recognizing nobody will come if quarantine remains 14 days, even for sandbox locations because the sandbox novelty will wear off. And because many other countries are opening up to tourists. We wait and see. Thanks again for all the information and ideas, very much appreciated.
  10. Thanks. - My notebook is an ACER Android. - My home printer is connected to my notebook by cable. - I think wi-fi connection is possible but cable connection is enough for my needs.
  11. Thanks. Yes I'm hoping I can easily e.mail the file to my g.mail inbox, then printing will be very easy. My googling found many apps but I'm very hesitant that they bring 'side issues', 'invasion', 'change other settings' in my notebook'. Thanks again.
  12. Thanks. I've just made a PCR test booking at a lab here near Sydney, I need to get a negative report to be able to fly Sydney to Bangkok. The lab has an automatic process to send the result report by SMS 24 hrs after the swab is taken. I asked whether report by e.mail etc., was possible. Abrupt answer was NO, on a PDF by SMS only. Call ended. Thanks again, seems I need to find the two pronged 'share' symbol which shouldn't be that difficult, and send the report to my e.mail inbox. From there printing super easy. Thanks again.
  13. Thanks, but let me be honest, I'm coming up to 77 years old and I'm not that tech savvy, never used bluetooth for anything. Can the same thing be achieved by using the two pronged 'share' symbol to send the PDF file from my smartphone to my own e.mail inbox? From there I can cope and easily print. Thanks again.
  14. Thanks. My home printer is connected by cable to my notebook. I'm guessing that you're meaning to use the two pronged 'share' symbol to e.mail the file to my own e.mail. Is this correct. (Actually I often receive family photos on the LINE application, I activate the two pronged 'share' symbol and e.mail the photo to my e.mail account, printing from there is super easy. But is the two pronged 'share' symbol available on SMS items received by 'normal' telephone service?)
  15. Thanks, I have a printer and I'm familiar with printing once any file is in my notebook files. I often take a smartphone photo of a document of an object etc., then open the photo and use the 2 pronged 'share' icon to send the photo to my e.mail address. Printing from e.mail is of course quite easy. But I'm guessing that a PDF file on my SMS is a different ballgame? Bottom line, I'm lost on how to get the PDF file from my Samsung smartphone into my notebook, can you please explain more on this point (also I'm not really familiar with 'drag n drop). Thanks again.
  16. Can a member please share how to print PDF file received on smartphone SMS. Or can I use the two pronged 'share' symbol and send the file to my own e.mail and then print? (Just a guess, I haven't yet received the file on my smartphone, coming in a couple of days.) Thanks.
  17. If the termites are eating the wood it's also possible they are eating cement. Needs a very thorough investigation.
  18. Soon I will have chance to travel from Sydney back to Bangkok to see my Family. I'm aware that I'll need a COE and a negative test report to show at Sydney and Bangkok airports. Have any members done the swab test/received the negative report in the Northern Beaches area just Nth. of Sydney? Would you please share details of the test location etc. Thanks.
  19. Well we had a lady in our condo who had 4 small very yappy dogs. At 6:00 am every morning she opened her door and left it open and her dogs ran continuously the whole length of the corridor, yapping continuously. Luckily we were 2 levels above. Many complaints direct to the dog owner and to the office didn't help. Then one afternoon she was getting them inside her condo and one was missing. And on the corridor wall near her door there was a graphic in rows: Line 1 - 5 dog outlines. Line 2 - 4 dog outlines. Line 3 - 3 dog outlines. Line 4 - 2 dog outlines. Line 5 - 1 dog outline. Line 6 - no dog outlines. She called the police who came an went to the office and spoke to the juristic person then went to the now 3 dog condo. The police told her it was illegal to keep dogs in a condo (not sure that's true) and to remove all her dogs from the building permanently, and within 48 hours. She got the message and never let her dogs out again, but within 3 or 4 days she moved out with her 3 dogs.
