  1. Just watched the clip again a few times and from what i can see and hear it's a real shame that tuk tuk driver didn't get more of a hiding or the farangs didn't get away with it. Not condoning using violence to settle disputes but when dealing with that trash who like to dish it out then.......
  2. Call it circumstantial evidence if you like, a bit like you are using in assuming the farang did in fact even hit his tuk tuk or cause it any damage at all. Or did you see the alleged collision?
  3. You have been here long enough to know or you should know that there is a strong likelihood that that''s what happened and that is why things got heated between them. I will concede that nobody knows for sure that extortion was on the tuk tuk drivers mind but that is in my opinion is what most of those guys are about. Dishing out beatings is another. Yes he was entitled to fair compensation for any damage that was caused but again i doubt that fair was or would ever be on that tuk tuk drivers mind. Opportunity to make money was.
  4. Agree. The Brit needed to think where he was before he started hitting the extorter but make no mistake about it, the tuk tuk driver thought it was his birthday when the farang hit his tuk tuk. Now his prize will be even bigger. I have no sympathy for the tuk tuk driver or his cronies who instantly appeared on the scene for the chance to beatdown some farangs. Shame the Brits didn't get away with it, then it would have been a case of som nam na for all the others you have ripped off.
  5. I'm guessing alot of TM30's don't get submitted because of the absolute pain in the backside in going to immigration these days
  6. Saw this piece of poop farang stood in the middle of soi Watboon last night waiting to attack motorcyclists with his bucket of water. Very tempted to run him over as i drive past
  7. Don't be fooled by all this road safety spouting. It's all about lining their pockets and even now there is blatant favouritism and targeting at the many checkpoints. If you need to get anything done using a motorbike then i suggest going out before about 9:30 am or run the risk of being pulled at one of these stops and fined for anything they can find
  8. And much too hot at this time of year for any traffic cops to be out doing their duty in helping with traffic flow. Instead we have a free for all that includes running red lights while tight behind the car in front.
  9. Horrendous driving all over Pattaya at the moment.
  10. And if sex starved guys pay it then they will continue charging it.
  11. In the Pattaya area i don't think it's been particularly hot yet this year, however lets hope for a storm to clear this horrible, lingering air that we have had for a while now
  12. There would be alot of interest in your older photos. The area now is nothing like it was for naughty boys and fun then. I too have been around for 30 plus years but can't really remember the time i first stayed around that area. Probably late nineties
  13. I'de be amazed if she has a legitimate motorbike license and at 20 years old definitely not much experience riding bikes. Too easy to rent bikes here.
  14. So if you buy a used car or bike, you might then be in for an expensive tax renewal if the previous owner has accumulated several fines?
  15. Are you just commenting for the sake of it again?
  16. Easy solution to that would be to go after the rental shops who rent bikes to people who don't produce a valid license. The cops use checkpoints as an income stream and not for road safety purposes and with the increase in fines there has been an increase in checkpoints
  17. They forgot to mention how much fun it is if you need to go to immigration
  18. It would be quite intimidating just being stopped and searched at one of their checkpoints. <deleted> that is not an experience most tourists want on holiday
  19. Stiffer penalties means higher bribes needed to escape justice. Most farang in the Pattaya area know that 200000 gets you off there and then under most circumstances. And take note. I did not say i agree with this state of affairs
  20. These clowns look for money rather than being concerned with road safety.
  21. I agree. If you can be happy staying there then go for it. It's how i bought my first condo 17 years ago. It can be your base/storage facility ect.
  22. I just wish they had been taught basic manners and how their kids should behave. Apart from that they are welcome
  23. He can try a Thai prison first and then off to spend the rest of his life in an even worse place. Not much of a future for him.
  24. I expect they were helped by some of the low life farang police lickers, the very same people who originally came to Thailand to visit temples
