Because the 4 Embassies didn't have the balls to stand  up to Immigration and tell them that this is what you have accepted for years and if yo won't accept it any longer then you, Thai Immigration, release a statement to the citizens of these countries that you will no longer accept the Income Affidavits provided by them.  It would have never happened!

I didnt post "If you were correct , etc". But, what you say is rubbish, pure supposition, would never stand up in a court of law. Lets stick to the facts, just the facts.

What makes you think that funds seasoning is required when using an agent? It’s not required under the old rules, is it?

Sent from my iPad using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

There has been millions of posts that the old rules have changed. Funds seasoning is now law. Dont break the law in LOS, monkey house not too nice so ive been told.

Thats funny you should mention that LOL!  That was one of the first things I noticed when I first came to jomtien for a brief stay last year.  On my second visit I rented a AirBNB place in Pratumnak from a Russian (very nice guy).  I liked to eat at the night market nearby and it seemed that almost every food vendor was Russian, not Thai.  Walking down the beach, all I'd hear was Russian being spoken, not Thai, and certainly not English.  Very odd feeling for sure, but I love the Jomtien/Pratumnak area.  I'm guessing they are there for economic reasons.  My AirBNB landlord owns several condos in Pratumnak and has never even visited the Kingdom.

Ya might be getting quite a few thai expats in Canggu soon. Thats if they can learn how to pronounce the place, (Chan goo? )been there many times, probs with Bali is the traffic though.

  4. All the people   , who know everything, who have been saying for years that TI support Agents for a kickback have been proven wrong . Now having to keep money in the banks for 12, 6, 3, 2 or however many months prove this. Just a case of Thai bashing, And to quote a common saying, " if ya dont like it, etc etc". Aveagoodday and god bless. Im orrite Jack, I got the moolah.

It's just immigrations latest hurdle for one year visas.  Immigration leaders are trying to get expats to either leave or exploit those who stay.  You didn't miss anything. ????

How can they be exploited by following the rules that have been in place all along? The only expats that will leave are the ones that cant meet the financial requirements as laid down by law, many years ago.

I am alsways wondering about comments like those from Richard.

Do these posters really believe that the Central group doesn't know what it is doing and will not be making money out of their ventures?

    Why?

Thanks, but will be sending a top-up to my pensions mid month and will exceed what I need by some margin just to cover the exchange rate fluctuations.........did think about that.

When I first went to Singapore, I was getting 4 Sing dollars to 1 Oz dollar, now they are on par.Its heading that way here too. That is something to keep in mind. Its getting harder  and harder to get a good nights sleep.

Thanks all the same, but my two examples are enough as that's really all I worry about.........anyway automatic transfers take the '"remembering" out of the equation!

Keep your eye on the exchange rate. If it crashed overnight as your transfer is taking place and its at he end of the month, you will have to start all over again, another 12 months. Now that is something I will be worrying about a lot.

    Ah, were it so simple..................

If I send money from ASB bank to Bangkok bank here, I have to do it by a monthly manual transfer via Internet banking, as ASB will not automatically transfer funds to a foreign bank.

So every month I have to go into my Internet banking account and set up a new payment, which is something I don't want to do because if I were to fall ill and be taken to hospital, or be incapacitated in some other way, then I could miss a payment and I don't think immigration here are that lenient, and who knows what the ramifications might be??

I looked at a new option by Transferwise regarding "borderless accounts" and it seems as if they can set up an account in NZ, so that I can get an automatic payment made to this NZ entity, which ASB deems to be okay (transfer within NZ) and they in turn will transfer it to Bangkok bank here – – at least that's what I'm hoping it's all about as I have requested more information for clarification, which should be forthcoming in a couple of days.

"if I were to fall ill and be taken to hospital, or be incapacitated in some other way, ".  Thats  only a couple of things that could go wrong, I can think of dozens more, If you want to know  more, please feel tree to PM me.

I was thinking about Bali.  They have easy to get long visas but a lot of tourists there.

You have to have health ins, rent for 12 months, a ;maid, But, get on a forem there, there are ways around things, I have checked ;it out. Or border runs to Singas.

  11. Scattered all over TV there are answers, some right,  some wrong,  to my scenario, a Pinned thread by the TV visa expert I think would be good, the correct info , easy to find, so here goes.   Joe Blogs goes to get his retirement ext, for some reason, irrelevant, he cant renew. He needs to stay in the LOS for as long as possible to either put things right, or get out. Would TV consider this, and only TV can answer that question.

This area already has a natural road block through all tuk tuks and motorbike taxis, waitin in front of Junk Ceylon.

Not enough, now also Central comes tot he same place, fantastic planning, with roads like 20 years ago.

Instead of upgrading and modernizing Junk Ceylon and adding possibly parking space in the city, just another road block

It is possible that JC and Central are owned by different companies. Just possible mind. If that is the case, Central would not want to , couldn't, upgrade JC. Just a thought. There is only a fixed nr of people who shop. Because there is a new shopping precinct, the population ain't gunna increase. Therefore, traffic congestion cannot change, increase.

most of these will work for 300 Baht a day. Thais won't. At least not in Bangkok. Too lazy. So if thai police rounds up all these foreigners and sends them back home to Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia - who will do all the factory-/serving-/ construction-/ cleaning-work?

I believe the expats who cant meet the financial requirements to stay here should be hired to do those jobs under a new type of visa. Maby "Retire work Extension of stay".
