Banning it for grown men, could, just about, maybe, possibly, be considered religious intolerance in the crazy world we now live in . Banning it for babies is completely different and totally right. Allowing it to continue is just plain wrong, they are not allowed to do it to girls anymore, and nobody argues about that, So in these days of equality why are they still allowed to do this to boys. Times are changing , jesus we are living in a world where rightly or wrongly there are now, many, what used to be everyday words that if spoken aloud could either put you in prison or start a riot some cartoons have provoked extreme responses. people get offended over nothing, and others lose their jobs and careers sometimes just for telling the truth. Many things are getting "banned" day in day out because a minority feels "offence" Why on earth is this male genital mutilation allowed on babies of any faith , colour, or creed , ? Why have these children not been identified as "Vulnerable" (god I hate that word) everybody else seems to have been. Is no one looking out for them, In years to come they will look back in shame on this, Discussions like this are how it starts

The generation of Americans you refer to were also snipped due to religious reasons in many cases , It was alleged to discourage masturbation, that obviously has its roots in religion, Quakers, Puritans etc it wasn't only a cleanliness issue that was just another excuse the god botherers came up with to validate their real reason

Very well put, and lets not forget that the arrogance of some of these unelected civil servants leads them to follow their own woke agendas and not necessarily follow the official narrative of the governments they are supposed to represent. That happened with some UK civil servants recently and when they were called out they started crying and said they were being bullied forcing the resignation of a government minister. Thankfully the UK appears not to have been involved in this unwarranted intrusion into the affairs of an independent sovereign nation. The Eu was mentioned extensively in the OP , are the diplomats representing their elected leaders and their electorates or as I suspect the unelected bureaucrats in Brussels?

You are probably right, but its not the cocks its the unconsented mutilation of them that is winding me up. However enough is enough I've got stuff to do, ....after I've washed my filthy foreskin of course, and offered my apologies to the missis and any other women who I've made to feel nauseous over the past 40+ years
-
The truth?? Look, if I had ever experienced any such anti foreskin sentiment or indeed found the possession of my foreskin in anyway a hindrance to sexual encounters with women I would have had it removed years ago But that has never been the case and I have never heard of anybody else ever who has felt the need to do so. If you are happy with being "less than complete" and it works for you that's fine but it does not give you the right to advocate the "procedure" being inflicted on non consenting children Am I right or wrong ?

No I am not. Neither are the "nongprue officials" who instigated this abomination, but what has that got to do with anything ? Do you think that most surgeons are circumcised due to there inherent knowledge,? I don't even think they use real surgeons to carry out the procedure, certainly not for the females.

I hardly think people need brainwashing to accept their natural unmutilated bodies although religious brainwashing is the fundamental reason for this (and many other atrocities), You certainly seem to have been brainwashed regarding your views on personal hygiene I think its called body dysmorphia and treatment (psychological) is available if you didn't know Ask yourself this, Why is any religion forced on all people from a very young age? could it possibly be that young minds are more easily corrupted ? Would it not be much more difficult to get a fully grown adult to believe any of these fairy stories ? "Backed by women" WTF ! I have NEVER encountered a woman who endorsed this practice "Safer as a baby" is that because they don't struggle in resistance as they don't know what about to happen? do they even allow the use of anaesthesia ? " Backed by science" if that was the case it would be highly recommended, or even compulsory for all, the matter would not be up for constructive debate, a bit like Covid vaccines and global warming "highly emotional" ? really? I think any right minded person would consider the surgical disfigurement of childrens genitals to be a somewhat emotive subject, at least they should do

"In order to bolster support and grant the practice its due respect and legitimacy, Nongprue officials have highlighted the various benefits of circumcision, particularly in terms of personal hygiene and cleanliness. By labelling the procedure as a contributing factor to overall health, they have effectively established a scientific and moral foundation for the cause." Way above both their pay grade and their level of competence in my opinion and that of any right minded person And from the linked article... Through providing access to essential religious practices such as circumcision, communities like Pattaya demonstrate the value of living in harmony with others from various cultures and faiths. As a result, this programme can serve as an inspiring example for other municipalities seeking to show their support for religious diversity and for fostering a sense of unity within their towns and cities. So presumably ,in line with the above, the enlightened officials will be leading by example??

A barbaric, medieval mutilation that should never be conducted on anybody without their consent. unless for emergency medical reasons ( if there actually are any ) For god's sake in the UK its illegal to tattoo somebody if they are drunk, as they are not considered capable of giving consent. How can a newborn baby possibly give consent? If a grown adult requests the procedure, fair enough, Up to them but they should receive some science based counselling beforehand to inform them of the consequences, in the same way that those requesting gender reassignment surgery do ( or should do) They should also pay for it themselves. why should the rest of society foot the bill? That is just wrong The reasons for doing it have nothing to do with "cleanliness" or any other medical reason, that is nothing but a smokescreen. One could argue that routine removal of the prostate would have positive effect , ie in preventing a common and often deadly form of cancer but I don't know of any society that advocates that Many non muslim or jewish Americans were circumcised in the mistaken belief by religious zealots that it would reduce masturbation something they obsess about (the same reason that cornflakes were invented lol) and before anybody asks here's a link https://www.mentalfloss.com/article/32042/corn-flakes-were-invented-part-anti-masturbation-crusade Almost unbelievable in my opinion ! I have yet to hear of any of these "muslim councils" officially explain the reasons for female circumcision or indeed denounce the practice. and don't try telling me it has anything to do with cleanliness. In most civilised countries it is forbidden, in the UK for example there are severe penalties for it but prosecutions are virtually non existent, one reason being a pathetic fear of upsetting "racial sensitivities" another being that is almost impossible to actually catch the hideous old crones ( it's always old women)who are flown in from places like Saudi Arabia, armed with their razor blades, specifically to commit this heinous crime Is their one adult male who who has undergone this "procedure" later in life who honestly "hand on heart" would extoll its virtue and benefits ? I very much doubt it, and they are conspicuously absent here! On the other hand its only to be expected that those who had it forced upon them as a baby would try to justify it, mainly due to brainwashing from their twisted parents who forced it on them and also as away of convincing themselves that they are not missing out on anything

For the sake of expats originating from the countries mentioned its probably better that they don't resort to economic sanctions. Regulations regarding Visas etc can easily be tightened up. Why would you wish for that? It would also have a negative effect on the Thai economy as a whole which would not be beneficial for anybody Personally I think they should keep their nose out of the business of a sovereign state its got nothing to do with them. How would they feel if representatives from ASEAN nations poked their noses into their countries affairs? Nothing but interfering busybodies

In my experience that is not always the case. I had a close friend from belgium who died last year from prostate cancer. he died in his house, he was cremated 3 days later in his local temple, I can assure you his body went straight from his house to the temple and no autopsy was carried out Another close friend, this time from Germany died around 5 years ago from a brain tumour, again he died at home and went directly to the temple, however his cremation was interrupted literally at the last minute, they were actually carrying him up the steps to the oven when a police pick up pulled into the temple grounds, one of the officers after a respectful wai, halted the proceedings, the coffin lid was removed, and they took his fingerprints then they all waid again and drove off, it was a little surreall to say the least. but again definitely no autopsy Neither of those guys died in what could be considered suspicious circumstances, that is probably why no autopsy was required A bit off topic but there was another guy I knew well who was killed on his motorcycle, not sure if they autopsied him or not but I'm pretty sure he was not taken to Bangkok, however there was some problem with paperwork and his next of kin in Germany were difficult to find, causing him to be kept in the mortuary for about two weeks. His funeral was proceeding normally until it was time to put him in the oven, then one of the funeral officials noticed he was still frozen solid , and as such would have been impossible to burn, the solution was to leave him in his coffin at the oven doors overnight, and we were told to return at am 8 the next morning if anybody wanted to say a last goodbye, I didn't bother going the next day but those who did were a bit disappointed as they had already fired him up at 6am
