When Einstein gave lectures at U.S. universities, the recurring question that students asked him most was:

    - Do you believe in God?

    And he always answered:

    - I believe in the God of Spinoza.

Baruch de Spinoza was a Dutch philosopher considered one of the great rationalists of 17th century philosophy, along with Descartes.

    (Spinoza) : God would say:

    Stop praying.

What I want you to do is go out into the world and enjoy your life. I want you to sing, have fun and enjoy everything I've made for you.

Stop going into those dark, cold temples that you built yourself and saying they are my house. My house is in the mountains, in the woods, rivers, lakes, beaches. That's where I live and there I express my love for you.

Stop blaming me for your miserable life; I never told you there was anything wrong with you or that you were a sinner, or that your sexuality was a bad thing. Sex is a gift I have given you and with which you can express your love, your ecstasy, your joy. So don't blame me for everything they made you believe.

Stop reading alleged sacred scriptures that have nothing to do with me. If you can't read me in a sunrise, in a landscape, in the look of your friends, in your son's eyes... you will find me in no book!

Stop asking me "will you tell me how to do my job?" Stop being so scared of me. I do not judge you or criticize you, nor get angry, or bothered. I am pure love.

Stop asking for forgiveness, there's nothing to forgive. If I made you... I filled you with passions, limitations, pleasures, feelings, needs, inconsistencies... free will. How can I blame you if you respond to something I put in you? How can I punish you for being the way you are, if I'm the one who made you? Do you think I could create a place to burn all my children who behave badly for the rest of eternity? What kind of god would do that?

Respect your peers and don't do what you don't want for yourself. All I ask is that you pay attention in your life, that alertness is your guide.

My beloved, this life is not a test, not a step on the way, not a rehearsal, nor a prelude to paradise. This life is the only thing here and now and it is all you need.

I have set you absolutely free, no prizes or punishments, no sins or virtues, no one carries a marker, no one keeps a record.

You are absolutely free to create in your life. Heaven or hell.

I can't tell you if there's anything after this life but I can give you a tip. Live as if there is not. As if this is your only chance to enjoy, to love, to exist.

So, if there's nothing after, then you will have enjoyed the opportunity I gave you. And if there is, rest assured that I won't ask if you behaved right or wrong, I'll ask. Did you like it? Did you have fun? What did you enjoy the most? What did you learn?...

Stop believing in me; believing is assuming, guessing, imagining. I don't want you to believe in me, I want you to believe in you. I want you to feel me in you when you kiss your beloved, when you tuck in your little girl, when you caress your dog, when you bathe in the sea.

Stop praising me, what kind of egomaniac God do you think I am?

I'm bored being praised. I'm tired of being thanked. Feeling grateful? Prove it by taking care of yourself, your health, your relationships, the world. Express your joy! That's the way to praise me.

Stop complicating things and repeating as a parakeet what you've been taught about me.

What do you need more miracles for? So many explanations?

The only thing for sure is that you are here, that you are alive, that this world is full of wonders.

    - Spinoza

Spinoza was a enlightenend man of respect! Amen

I know one teacher, 3 students and 1 parent who all ended up in a field hospital (all foreign, uk mostly). This was from an outbreak at an international school in Phuket. They all went to a government hospital first to evaluate their condition, one had mild (fever) the others all no symptoms, so after 2 days all were sent to the field hospital.

They are all out now. I'm going to call one of the parents tomorrow and see if there was any cost.

It could be a good lead, but still this is Thailand and there is not a norm that equal all places.

Not a problem if you have coverage..

That was the point of the last sentence.. You are not just lying around on an enforced "vacation"..

I do not have covid covered in my insurerance, but called https://www.dhipaya.co.th now, and they will call me back now. I have a social security that cover a surten amount pr day from my home country, but not sure this will be covered at all if no symptoms.

Dhipaya said they normaly only give to those with workpermit, but have to wait and see. They asked my visa status, if married, and as said we have to wait and see.

We know this fora is a mix about the members own experiences, what they see and hear, and then add a bit colour to it. Some have more positives experiences than others because of different reasons.

What I have seen and experienced so far, the only thing I can say, is that falangs mostly come here and put on their pink glasses handed out at the gate at airport, and do not take them off before its to late.

After series of defeats, and still do not relaize what they do wrong, some ends up bitter and depressed, some try to supress it with constantly claiming short time renting is better than long time.

Women wants something from us, no matter where in the world you are, and they never lower they expectations no matter how wrong they are, and they are not so far from us as men. We also want somthing, and some of us also have to high expectations. Jeezzz christ we are both people with pros and cons, and for some couples it will never be, or never ment to be.

Im happy Im on the side that can choose, many of those women do not have a choice. It is clear to me, everyone have to take their time, and not rush it.

And it is not only the families expectations, it is the whole neighboorhood. I know my family here get questions quite often how much do the falang give pr month?

And it is not only falang who get screwed around, the thais also getting the same threathment if not worse.

That God is inside the believer as a concept, thought, experience, idea, is obviously true. FMRI scans of the brains of believers can confirm that. However, the assumption that the same concept or idea of God is also outside the believer has no scientific basis. Believing that god is as much outside you as inside you would be confusing fiction with non-fiction.

It is more of a concept where you put nature in the middle, or the universe as you. We know how nature is working as one, and every littel thing depends on each other, and only that way we, the humans have become, and therefor one. The same is proved for the galaxy, that there would not have been life on planet earth if the moon, was not there, or the other planets in tha exact same positions working with us around the sun. Still alot we do not know, but so far science have proved that we are in the sweet spot among our neighbours. Then how we work with the other galaxies, on our universe, and maybe how our universe works together as well. I will stop here but I guess you get it. And every little chemical reaction, and every little bacteria we have adopted working with us in our own little universe for how many "creatures"? It is so many tiny little mechanical things happening inside us on another leve and another scale that is quite exceptional.

Sorry, did not bother spell check

It looks like you nearly only eat <deleted> food. None of the food you listed is good for a diet.

You could of course still lose weight if you eat less calories than you consume, but that you don't lose weight does quite likely mean that you eat too much. (Two weeks is not very long though, some weight fluctuation could potentially hide some fat loss)

There are many ways to diet, there isn't the one truth, you have to figure out what works for you. In general increasing protein, and lowering carbs (especially sugar) and fat helps.

Get a food scale, weigh everything that you eat and write down the calories.

When I lost 15 kg on 3 months, I ate fish, banana, vegetables bacon, oat, beef, rye crackers, and more, but stayed away from bread, potato, rice, sugar (in food as well) and such. If you eat alot outside, you have to know what they putting in your food, and if you ask for no sugar, you have to make sure they understand. Some thai restaurants I went to, did not add sugar, but did not balance the meal with the rest of ingridents to match up with no sugar, so it tasted aweful. And they blamed me for not wanting sugar.

I was 179cm 96 kg, and I kept strictly 1750k for 6 days a week 3 months, and one eating day useally saturday.

Walked 5 km every morning and evening, and went to the gym 4 days a week. It doesnt matter what you really do, walking running, swimming, but you have to get to the gym and start lifting some weights. The most important things for men passing 50!

And as others says, there is nothing wrong with your weight, except if you have skinny arms, chest and legs, and a big belly!

what most people who is not sick need, is dicipline. Get up in the morning and start moving, eat your breakfest that should be oat pudding and a bananan and a tiny spoon of jam.

Cut alchohol and no meal or after 17:00

They don't.  On vehicles in countries with wet & cold weather rust may form which gradually causes the friction material to delaminate (part company) from the metal part) if they're not used. A quick visual check will confirm this. I doubt there will be any problem with a bike that's lived in Thailand but any sign of rust on the metal part of the pads - fling 'em.

All rubber, hoses, seals, gaskets, gas tank, gasolin gels up, basically you need to check up the whole bike, but do not take my word for it, and a new battery. But if you just going fra your appartment and down the road to 7/11 and back, it might worth it.

I wouldnt bought an old bike that had been sitting for 10 years.

The strongest men wouldn't have 'bet' more than they could afford to lose.

Being left with nothing is a clear sign of weakness.

Well. Considering your personal story you have shared with us, then I have no further comments.

    ????

I aggree do not risk more than you can walk away from. It is not they who kick you out, but, but you have the choice to stay in hell, or leave. Thats not the point with my first post considering choosing the family and not only the girl. The girl (thai) will always put her family higher than you, no matter how strong you are.

(Disclaimer:  Pick the family wisely.  We now have 3 of her siblings and their 3 kids here, courtesy of our sponsorship.  Ouch.  Actually they are nice and work hard.  Mow my yard, fix my cars and all.  Several are now U.S. citizens.)

That is the best advise anyone can give.  Choose the family, and not only the girl.

it doesnt matter you bring her back to your country, live in any of the tourist cities far away from the family, they will be with here no matter where she is, and influence her life on daily basis.
