  1. page 1 is the application form.

page 2 appears to be information for the public about this card.

it states that: ( roughly, i'm no expert and there may be mistakes in the translation !!!)

    1.the purpose of the card.

to offer a separate channel for passport control/immigration procedures for cardholders entering or exiting the country through suwannaphum airport.

    2. priviledges and use of the card.

    (A) holders of the card and their spouses and children can use the special channels marked " suwannaphum premium and diplomatic" where they will have their passports processed quicker than if they were using the other channels, especially during busy times.

(B)immigration officers will swipe the cards of those entering or leaving the kingdom to record the information on them.

© immigration officers maintain the right to.??

only allow card holders to use the card , i.e. they must be travelling themselves and cannot allow others to use the card.

only allow the card holders to use the special channels, they must have their passports examined according to the laws and must follow all relevant procedures.

can cancel the card without prior warning if any of the conditions of use are broken or if a holder is found to be in breach of any of the immigration laws.

the card is valid for 3 years from the date of issue.

pages 3 to 5 are the official rules as written in law about who can have the card etc.

it seems that one of the conditions for a foreigner seems is that they must have invested 8 mill. in thailand.

i have only skimmed pages 3 to 5 so i may be wrong on that. its thai legalese and it gives me a headache.

    maybe tomorrow!!

  2. A POUND OF LARD SLOBBERING OVER HER BODY.?????

when dealing with an overweight partner, a proper lady would do the decent thing and climb on.

i know of 2 old guys here , one a rotund italian man in his late 60's who works his charm and sets the mood by buying his girlfriends plenty of ice cream, he says thai girls like nothing better than licking the nuts off a large neapolitan.

another guy, english, about 70, very active but quite grumpy when on the phone to his girlfriends, however he says thai girls have no trouble handling his testy calls.

  3. i think it may be illegal, if the electric and water are supplied direct to your house using equipment installed by the utility companies then you should only have to pay the normal rates as shown on the bill.

if the power and water are delivered via a transformer or water pumping set up provided by the landlord, (as is often the case with small rental developments where the landlord who built the development organises the distribution of the utilities to the properties he has built within the boundaries of his land) then he can charge extra.

  4. rolypie , putting snideness, abusiveness and flippancy aside for a moment , which i have to admit is hard to do after reading your initial post , do you really expect anyone to take seriously a poster who inquires about acquiring and using an illegal firearm in thailand to protect against the theft of a pickup (albeit a top of the range one) or a motorcycle.

as another poster suggested in a polite and helpful way , just let them take it , get out , walk away and inform your insurance company.

when your other brain cell resumes full functionality , i'm sure even you can see the sense in that.

  5. i am also wondering why , for just one missing tooth , you were advised to have a complicated expensive implant rather than a simple and relatively inexpensive bridge.

a bridge bonded by means of a thin metal plate to the back of a tooth adjacent to the gap would have been a much easier option , it would have been painless and in most cases aesthetically just as good.

tooth preparation for this kind of bridge is minimal , often not even requiring a local anaesthetic , and there would be no need for antibiotics and painkillers.

from the photos , although they are blurred , it looks like your left central incisor was replaced with the implant.

was there some clinical reason that meant that an implant was the only option?

  6. hatari hello card.

    0.85B/min to a UK. landline

call them , before they answer hang up , they immediately call back and then you input the UK number

register with them and there is no need to input the long pin number each time you call.

no charges to your mobile or land line as hatari are making the initial call to your number.

  7. i've used them for years , they are good , but they used to be better and cheaper.

its not as cheap to fly bkk-lhr-bkk these days with eva , especially premium economy , and the service and food is nothing special now.

singapore airlines often have better deals on bkk-sin-lhr , the service is impeccable and the planes nicer too (a-380).

the only downside is it's a slightly longer journey , but changi airport is an easy and relaxing place to spend a few hours.

i used singapore airlines for the first time last year , and found the experience much better than eva (or the british airways/qantas circus with their schoolmarmish stewardesses bossing you about and the lisping stewards mincing up and down the aisles) , and saved about 25000 baht for 2 over the trip with eva. got to watch out for the deals and grab them though.

  8. Sarah Oxley is now on bail, she is living in bangkok with her husbad Darren Oxley and their 3 children.

if , as you claim , you really do have accurate info. as to where darren oxley is living , then contact the uk police in sheffield who might make moves to have him extradited back to the uk for jumping bail etc.

a request for extradition from thailand may probably be dealt with by a different thai police department to the one involved with the hua hin case ( the one that is somehow unable to locate him ! ) and may be glad to have a reason to detain him , a reason that does not tread on the toes of the hua hin police and the toes of others who seem to be content to let this case fade away.

  9. this was on the thai news last night , an unnecessarily long report .. at least three or four minutes... considering it was a minor incident with lots of camera footage.

    those damm foreigners again.

wonder how the cameras got there so quickly.

it took 4 or 5 thais to restrain him and the police didnt do much to stop a thai (possibly the van driver) from punching and kicking him in the head whilst he was restrained and on the ground.

the man was big and covered in tatoos. he is a thai boxing student.

  10. Everyone I know has their funds spread across multiple bank accounts, some in different countries. The funds that can be accessed via an ATM card from the streets of Thailand are only a drop in the bucket of their complete portfolio. I just don't understand how someone can put themeselves in such a position.

everyone i know , multiple bank accounts in different countries , a drop in the bucket of their complete portfolios.

you sound madder than the german.

  11. Another point that has not been mentioned here is that the new condominium law guarantees that anyone whose name is on the chanot is eligible to be a kammagan.

    correct.

    from the 2008 condominium act.

it might be that the canadian was acting as a proxy manager , in which case due to the nature of a managers duties , work permit laws could be seen as being broken......especially if he has stepped on the wrong toes.

Foreign Currency Exchange Report 25 March 2009 Date: 25 March 2009

After navigating icebergs for the last couple of weeks, the pound seems to have steered into open waters and taken with it that sinking feeling away.

The Pound exchange rate has recovered an eye-watering 2.5% against the Euro and Dollar in the past 48hrs alone, a saving on every £100,000 property of £2,500, money much better in your pocket than in the hands of those fat-cat bankers. Unfortunately unless you have an account open or are in constant contact with a currency broker you would be none the wiser, don't expect your bank account manager or the snotty nosed bank clerk behind the counter to know what is going on. Just to give you some perspective and background to how quickly the markets move, the Pound slumped 23 percent versus the Euro and 26 percent against the Dollar last year as the U.K. economy slipped into its first recession since 1991 amid record losses at the nation's banks, prompting the Bank of England to cut the main interest rate to a record low of 0.5 percent in 2009.

    Sterling

A firm rebuke from Mervyn King over the lack of confidence in the Pound and with Inflation on the rise again Sterling has started to rebound against all currencies. The governor of the Bank of England, Mervyn King, has said people should have confidence in Sterling despite recent falls. Answering questions at a hearing held by MPs on the Treasury Committee, King said 'I see no reason why Sterling should go lower or why there should be a loss of faith in Sterling.' Although he did voice his concerns, that in the short term the outlook was 'not bright' for the UK, with first quarter GDP likely to show 'more of a decline' than the fourth quarter of 2008. He said monetary policy could still be used to help the economy in the near term, stating it should 'bear the brunt' of any need for additional stimulus.

    Euro

The Eurozone seems to be next in the cycle for a marked downturn. Industrial output plunged by 3.5% in January compared with the previous month, the biggest decline since records began in 1990. The drop came as factories cut output in light of a drop in demand for Eurozone goods around the world. Output from the 27 countries of the EU fell by 2.9% and 16.3% for the year. Analysts were taken aback at the scale of the drop. "The Eurozone industrial production data for January is breathtakingly awful, adding to the evidence that manufacturing activity has fallen off a mountain rather than a mere cliff," said Howard Archer at Global Insight. "January's appalling Eurozone industrial production suggests that the economy continued to contract very sharply in the first quarter," said Ben May at Capital Economics. Analysts said the disappointing figures will increase pressure on the European Central Bank to cut interest rates, which currently stand at 1.5%. With the European Central Bank not opting for similar money-injection programs to the UK, US and with Interest Rates set to move lower expect the Euro to weaken off for now.

    US Dollar

On Monday, the government thrashed out a plan that would combine public and private money to scoop out up to $1 trillion worth of soured assets from banks' balance sheets. The "Public-Private Investment Programme" will purchase the troubled mortgages and securities that have been at the root of the credit crunch. The Treasury has committed $75bn to $100bn to the programme and said the private sector would also contribute. The government's plan to buy up to $300 billion worth of long-term Treasuries and $1.25 trillion in mortgage-backed securities could trigger inflation, devaluing the Dollar. With continued positive data in the UK and a different monetary stance we could expect the GBP/USD exchange rate to breach the Interbank level of 1.50 in the coming weeks.

    News from further afield

The Monetary Policy Committee in South Africa, decided against the background of a slowing global and domestic economy and an improved medium-term outlook for inflation to reduce the repurchase rate by 100 basis points to 9,5 per cent per annum with effect from today, 25 March 2009.

  13. What the aggrieved management company has done is say F you to the owners and most likely set out charging fees that cannot be challenged. With reports like this, I can't believe people still insist on buying condo units.

the management company are contracted by the condo to look after the condo.

the condo committee decide things ( including maintenance fees) in consultation with the management company , the management company dont decide anything without agreement from the committee first.

it sounds like the owner of the condo ( the person who actually owned the land and built the condo) is in some way involved in the management , which could be illegal in itself depending on how it has been set up , according to the latest updates to the condominium act , and the committee are challenging his authority to set fees , resulting in this retaliation by the owner on the committees weakest link , i.e. the foreigner.

i know of some condos that are not run according to the latest condominium act and when the owners are challenged by the committees all h3ll can break lose as the owner stands to lose control of the running , especially when the accounts are closely scrutinized.

there is an awful lot of politicking and ego flouting on these committees.

  14. he should have been given life , sounds a nasty ba5tard , and alcoholism is no excuse.

As he asked to see the cousin's breasts his wife scolded him for his request.

he obviously had the idea of a threesome on his mind when he made this request , the delicious fantasy had probably been floating around in his alcohol fuelled mind for a few days prior to this , and when the request was turned down he went primeval and threw her out of the window.

should be no shortage of threesome sex for him over the next 25 months though.
