    It is never best practice to fit regrooved tyre to the front axle but in this case it appeared to be sidewall damage which caused the tyre to fail, . As a foot note a front tyre rapid deflation is well contained if the driver is paying attention and not on his phone or picking his nose.

    Looking at the rim I would suggest the wheel has been kerb'd many times, with the side walk damage causing the blow out, I am interested for the reporters to ask the driver did he take a stroll around the vehicle prior to driving it and if so was there a big bulge in this tyre.
