  1. I've used a funnel of say 3 sheets of newspaper, lit, burning well, then slowly at first then quickly set under wasps nests so the flames engulf the nest. I've used it on insane sized and cunning hornets, Euro wasp nest, in the USA, Australia wasps, LOS, Europe and its a foolproof method. One huge nest of massive hornets in the loft bunkhouse of a cabin in Pennsylvania once which all the Yank when they saw it ran for their lives ... they said these hornets were incredibly fierce in their sting and super aggressive. I dealt with the lot in a few minutes ... they didn't know what hit them! Yes, yes I know I am regular Steve Irwin lol ???????? No need to buy, expensive, and very toxic chemicals to deal with them. Wasps and hornets are smart and can see really well, and unlike bees they can sting indefinitely. Yet to the flame method they seem to not react. If they see you (and believe me they can see you perfectly with their compound eyes) spraying them with either a foam or a insecticide and you miss one or more with the aerosol they will attack and sting you over and over again and NOT stop. The flame method destroys the 'guards' around the nest wings instantly so they simply can't sting and emit their warning signal to the other wasps to emerge when they detect a threat (if that happens then you are in real trouble!). If the outside guards are buzzing further away from the nest they can be dealt with by simply placing the flames under them then you attend immediately to the whole nest. If one of the outside guards does come at you you simply wave the burning funnel at them (they don't fly very fast). They drop straight to the ground often burnt to death or at the very least wingless. I've never been attacked doing this (and I've been asked to deal with dozens of nests in my days). Their wings get burnt of them instantly as they buzz around outside the next (guard wasps). Those inside the nest when they try to emerge have their wings burnt off instantly also. First observe from a safe distance (and move slowly when you do this) watch the activity around the nest before planning your incineration. You simply hold the burning funnel under the nest for maybe 30 second to a minute and they'll be burnt then you can sweep away the nest and toss it in the garbage bin. Works perfectly every time. If its high up then attach the funnel with tape to a pole, light it, get it burning nicely then simply and with a positive (not hesitant !!) action place it underneath the nest. It's a good rule of thumb to walk around the house, inspect regularly for new nests, and simply use a broom or something the sweep them entirely away as the new nests are being built and uninhabited because.
  2. D@mn straight ???? Vintage Bol, vintage P-Heidesieck, Vintage Perrier or similar. My love is so spoilt she'd leave me if I ever bought her a bottle of That <deleted> hahahaha????????????

  4. I hail from a nation with arguably some of the worlds toughest Customs regulations ... for both citizens as well as visitors, and I have never seen or heard of anyone in all the years of my frequent international travel being coat-hangered by Customs for singular personal luxury items (except those that contravened regulations e.g. animal products, too many ciggies, too much booze) as happens at Swampy airport. Another BS action by LOS ning-nong's 'shoot-nation-in-the-foot'.
  5. Yo 'Big Joke' now go and clean out and prosecute the I.O.'s extorting folks on ED and other visas's.
  6. Oh yeah a real peachy guy huh?! A total poster-boy for the, rotten to the core, GOP.
  7. Lets start with the procurement of body-cams for every BiB in LOS as a starting point.
  8. There are some truly appalling singers and bands in LOS that's for sure hahahaha ????????????????
  9. If ya are entering the country with a non-suspect, and maybe shady visa history they never bat an eyelid. The solution is not to try to 'work the system' and this wont happen to you, or anyone else.
  10. Of course! Being kind and generous deserves ridicule ??????????
  11. It it was a circuit overload with insufficient, none, or faulty circuit breaker then its an advertisement to NOT buy pre-built homes here but build your own Having a non-Thai build manager who knows whats what with electric fit-outs of homes ala European/ Aussie standards oversee all installation. My home was wiring designed and fitted to Aussie standards, and it was really strictly adhered to and signed off on by an onsite British engineer. Thai's appear to have poor understanding of safe and decent regulation electrical fit-outs.
  12. Yeah he's a poster-boy for getting in the gym and working more diligently, smarter, and harder as you get older.

  18. Its a 5 hour drive (or it used to be) from Patt's but over in the east in Trat (near Koh Chang) theres literally hundreds of rattan shops and rattan manufacturing set-ups.
  19. A good rule of thumb as a gardener working in the garden ... if there are venomous creatures about (I hail from Oz, there we have the most venomous and deadly snakes on the planet x 4!) Always move slowly, never dive your arms into the garden beds, plants. When you go to work in an area or prune a tree observe from a few feet back, brush shrubs with your rake or broom or other tools first. If pruning trees bump the branches a few times with your extension pruner or loppers. Use rakes when bringing leaf fall out of beds not your hands. Seeing as you have lots of venomous snakes in your area then get yourself a good snake-bite kit and keep it in prominent place. Learn what to do if bitten. The pool scoop is a good idea. Non venomous snakes are good to have around, and quite timid, they remove cockroaches, mice n rats, and some other snakes too lickety-split. In Oz black and yellow & red belly black snakes kill the very deadly brown snakes n' eat em' so while venomous to us too they serve a purpose in the animal world. I wasn't a fan of the walled villas and houses I saw when I first began coming here but when building our home I realised that fairly smooth rendered 8 foot high walls all around, no vines or trees close to the walls on the outside for them to slither into the garden was a good thing. A front door & gate with tight tolerances in the frame and a carefully attached skirt. Tight fitting panel type garage doors instead of cheaper roller types helps to keep any curios slithering friends out. Oh ... by the way electronic snake deterrence devices are said by many experts to be ineffective.
  20. Hmm spitting cobras huh?! I think I dated a gal who fitted that description once lol????
  21. The few times I've been; Only twice for 2 year then my first 5 year. I just treated it as an adventure on the island. Get up early drive over and see the early folks going to work, beginning their day. Be at the offices before they open, visit the open air cafe on the other side of the licensing building, buy a delicious iced gafee buran and maybe a kanom treat, go sit with my number, people watch, say hello ... easy peasy. I practice the awareness and remembered the wisdom of the older A.N members about LOS-time and processes and just chill out when I do go to govt offices (don't have to do that much at all thankfully). 'You're not in Kansas anymore Toto'. No super-duper electronic license and Road Transport Office ID phone app's with everything on it; vaccinations, drug-allergies, next of kin, donor info, license record, demerit point count, etc etc. here lol ????????????????
  22. Maybe, maybe if you lot didn't extort and price gouge folks at rates truly obscene and unknown in other parts of LOS you wouldn't have had the rise of Grab etc. People would be and have been happy to use your brightly coloured cars all the day long.
