  1. How was your recovery from the procedure?
  2. My orthopedist said that in his experience some people do not have new flair ups of pain after 1 or 2 shots. I think there's a mind-body interaction going on there. But I agree with you.
  3. Thanks. I've only had one previous shot 8 months ago and my doctor in Chiang Mai thinks another one is reasonable before doing an MRI.
  4. Thanks. I'm already registered there so maybe I'll give him a try.
  5. Where can I go in Bangkok to get a cortisone injection in my shoulder for a suspected rotator cuff tear or strain? I am looking for a place that is cheap and with the least drama about it. Thanks! I went to a orthopedic clinic in Chiang Mai about 8 months ago (Dr. Chanakarn) and the doctor evaluated my shoulder pain and suggested trying a shot of cortisone and seeing how that worked before going to the expense of an MRI. It really helped a lot and I was pain free for many months. Now the pain has returned at a minor level after regular exercise and I want to try another shot. The fee in Chiang Mai was 600 baht. 300 for the exam and 300 for the cortisone injection. I may wait until my next trip to Chiang Mai but if anyone has a Bangkok recommendation I would appreciate it. Obviously not as cheap as Chiang Mai but not 3-4000 baht either.
  6. There is a way to complain about a bad order or report a problem but it is so deeply hidden in the app that it is virtually useless.
  7. I rented a fairly new Aerox in Chiang Mai for a month recently. A slight bit of a rough ride in the city, I thought, but it really came into its own on a trip to Pai and back. I loved it! Smooth, powerful, great handling. (The road is also exceptionally well-maintained and sign-posted these days also.) Kind of made me think it's time to replace my 20 year old Honda Wave. I'm curious if the NMAX, which I have never rode, is better than the Aerox? I guess I will rent one next time but what is your opinion? Thanks.
  8. Big C Rajadamri. No medicinal or psychoactive effect, but interesting to see. Who would have thought you could buy marijuana leaves and kratom at Big C just a couple years ago.
  9. Actually sometimes people want them to put the plastic bag inside the stainless steel pinto. They might be confused about whether you want it directly in the pan or in a plastic bag inside the pan.
  10. It is quite normal for some Thais to bring a stainless steel pinto for takeaway food instead of plastic bags. I don't think they are surprised at all. Maybe there is some other communication confusion.
  11. What are the transportation options on arrival now? I think the taxis there have a fixed rate of 1,000 baht into Pattaya and I'm hoping there are vans available. Thanks. (Chiang Mai to UTP is only 750 baht now on Lion Air)
  12. Yes. It was received eight days before the due date. I showed them the EMS tracking. They were uninterested in any discussion. I was polite and dressed appropriately if that's a concern.
  13. Speaking from personal experience when I did not receive it back and showed up at CW with proof of mailing it, I was told the reason it was not returned was that I mailed it too late and I was fined 2000 baht. I sent it by EMS about 10 days before due date.
  14. Yup. And they may reject it and fine you 2000 baht if you mail it past the 15 days. By golly, it's almost like they have set it up to get those fines.
  15. Yesterday I went to Central Plaza Airport in Chiang Mai. I had two doses of AstraZeneca 4 months ago in Bangkok. They were offering free boosters (and vaccinations) for Thais and foreigners with a choice of AstraZeneca, Moderna, or Pfizer. Go figure. It was a bit crowded but very well organized and staffed by friendly helpful people.
  16. It's definitely a work site now, but I can't tell if they're renovating it or deconstructing it. Not so many people on site also.
  17. Can anyone tell me the history of this building in Chang Kian on Chaoban Road? I know it was seemingly abandoned for many years but I never knew what it was or why it was abandoned. Now they appear to be renovating it into something, but I don't know what. Just curious as I drive past it every day. Thanks.
  18. Surprisingly, Big C carries Kratom in their produce section.
  19. Dear Your application for "STAYING LONGER THAN 90 DAYS" has been rejected. For further information regarding The 90-day Notification Report Service. Please contact the Immigration Branch Office in your residence area. Full Name : Passport : Nationality : USA:AMERICAN Kind regards. Kind regards is a nice touch! I've not left Thailand since 2007 and have gotten a new passport since then. Online has never worked for me and I guess they haven't fixed the bugs or even tried to probably.
  20. Did the notification give any reason for being rejected? If not, the lunacy continues....
  21. I wonder how many 2,000 baht fines for late reporting they give out each day in all the various immigration offices. I'm not saying..... I'm just saying.
  22. Out of curiosity, I tried registering on the old 90 day reporting app a couple of days ago. I've never been able to successfully submit on the website. I entered Thailand in 2007 and have not left since then. I also received a new passport during that time. For the first time I actually got an error message that included some information. It said that my TM6 number was incorrect. I was able to register and submit my 90 day report on the new web version. It is pending. I also mailed it via EMS on the 3rd and it is due on the 17th. That is not within the 15 days they insist on to make everything more complicated when the online report is rejected. It will be interesting to see what happens.
  23. Yes, It is a nice gym with good equipment and a pleasant vibe. Sadly, it's the motorcycle ride there that is most likely to hasten my demise.
