  1. Oh my god! The dreaded "far left"! Maybe throw in "radical" and "socialist" to further attempt to demonize any ideas that most of the country agrees with.
  2. The funny thing is that if you do a representative poll of both parties and ask about each policy individually, such as Medicare for all or higher taxes on the wealthy or strong environmental regulations, it turns out a majority of Americans agree with almost all of the proposed policies of that horrible far left democratic socialist. It's true!
  3. I just completed this quiz. My Score 100/100 My Time 58 seconds
  4. It will be interesting to see what happens when I go to top up my Elder Card then.
  5. 60 is the minimum age for the MRT Elder card. I got it a few years ago with my Thai driver's license. It's too bad the BTS doesn't offer something similar for foreigners.
  6. It's too bad he felt the need to pretend that people would be taking vacations after the 180 days instead of clearly asking if border bounces would be allowed or ask what kinds of courses would qualify for the visa. Would a one week cooking course work? It does clarify a lot, but of course each embassy will assert their own requirements.
  7. Their masters told them to hate her, so they hate. They can't win if they argue policy as the only policy they have is lower taxes on the rich, limiting social welfare programs, and unlimited military spending. Who in the right minds would vote against their best interests on policy, but hate, well hate is the great distractor.
  8. I happened to be walking past the opening of the first Taco Bell in Bangkok at The Mercury Ville and I noticed a young foreign woman greeting customers. (There was a very long line of mostly young Thais waiting to get in and order.) I asked her about the decision only to offer chicken and pork and she (from the USA) told me with absolute confidence that Thai people don't eat beef.
  9. You know, it is possible to disagree with someone's public policy positions without hating them. Who benefits from the division and hate?
  10. I was very much anticipating the bean and cheese burrito of my youth when Taco Bell opened in Bangkok but, alas, Taco Bell Thailand, with their marketing wisdom, decided that beans would not be sold in any form at any Taco Bell in Thailand. It's a damn shame is what it is.
  11. Perhaps consider the possibility that you can disagree with a person's policy ideas and still respect them. Ask yourself why hate is needed. Who benefits?
  12. I am not at all saying it happened here, but I have had a baht bus driver deliberately try to make me fall while I was getting on the truck. It was pretty clear that it was intentional in the way he jerked forward and then braked the truck. He almost succeeded. I had had no interaction with him prior to that. I assumed it was due to him being in some kind angry mental state and did not make an issue of it and walked away. The memory has stuck with me for many years though.
  13. True finally wired my building for fiber and I will upgrade from my 50/20 connection. Does it really matter if I get the 500Mbps or the 1 gig? All I care about is increasing the speed of my torrent downloads, but is there a difference in how international pages load? Thanks. Also, True throttles my torrent downloads pretty severely on the 50/20 plan, unless I use ExpressVPN then I get close to regular download speeds. Do they throttle your fiber optic connection also? I suspect it depends on the location.
  14. OK. I'm not looking for a fight. I'll take your advice and drive with caution. 🙂
  15. Interesting defense of that lunacy. I was surprised because I don't live here regularly.
  16. I went through that intersection several times and also noted how dangerous that lane closure was. Even coming down Sri Donchai towads the moat the cars coming directly into my lane or waiting to was quite a shock. What a strange decision not to provide any warning!
  17. I am sure they will eventually be reaurfaced, only to quickly be torn up again. I am not saying why, I'm just saying...
  18. Too true!
  19. They just get worse and worse! However, I'm not bitching about the Thais. I have definitely been to cities in the USA with worse roads. Everywhere I rode today it was bumpity bump on my 20-year-old Honda Wave.
  20. I didn't realize it was that easy. Thanks.
  21. I'm thinking of renting a Airbnb in Hillside 4 for a couple of weeks and I have a question for someone that lives there or used to live there or visited there. 🙂 Is the only way to enter the parking lot with a motorcycle off of Huay Kaew road? Seems quite difficult if you're coming from the moat direction? Any major construction going on inside or outside the building? Thanks.
