  1. Actually, the point of my starting this thread was to find a toaster that toasts well, not one that lasts a long time. By toast well I mean fully browned evenly on both sides. I was unclear about that. However, it is also true that all my toasters have eventually malfunctioned, usually because one bank of the heating elements stops working. All of them have been Thai or Chinese brands costing around 300 baht.
  2. I have an Electrolux toaster oven. The on/off knob is a twist timer to the right that is completely smooth. Impossible to turn with the slightest moisture on my hand and if you turn it off and go slightly too far to the left it is designed to stay on. I have done that accidentally a few times and only noticed the toaster oven blazing away a half hour later. There is no possible way Electrolux does not know about this design flaw. I'm guessing it has caused more than one kitchen fire. There are discussions of it online. So, it seems to me that something ain't like it used to be at Electrolux.
  3. I don't think any land office is going to allow the holder of a usufruct to register a long term lease to a third party that extends beyond the death of the usufruct holder. That is just some foreign lawyer's idea of what the rights of the usufruct holder include and, as far as I know, it has never happened. However, I would be happy to be proven wrong. Foreign lawyers come up with these legal theories and parade them as fact.
  4. I've probably had 5 cheap toasters over the years in Thailand and all were mediocre. Any suggestions for a truly good toaster in 1000-1500 baht range? All the recommended ones on consumer reports etc. are not available here. I like to toast an occasional bagel and whole wheat bread. Thanks!
  5. At that price it is certainly fake, but if it works, it works.
  6. Wow! That is great. Thanks for posting.
  7. Everybody involved was struggling with how to confront an evolving public health emergency, so yes, there was confusion and lies and people looking to profit and conspiracy theorists etc. etc. etc. You want the truth, you can't handle the truth and the truth is that lots of decent people were doing there best and there was no massive conspiracy.
  8. Well, it seems unlikely to me that you bought Stilnox OTC in Thailand. I guess it is possible that someone was selling smuggled Indian Stilnox. Just curious, how much did you pay and where was it? I have seen pharmacists in tourist areas sell people antihistamines for sleep when they ask for Xanax and tell them they are getting "same same" Xanax.
  9. I've bought all my Kindles from Amazon USA and they have always been cheaper and come with Amazon warranty. Not sure about the 32 GB model though. 10. An appointment will make it somewhat less painful if you have to go in person: https://gov.immigration1.queueonline.net/appointment/login.html?v31 Mine was rejected 3 times this week and finally accepted on the 4th submission. Exactly the same. Go figure.
  11. Happy ending to the story: I received this at 5:01 this evening after resubmitting this morning for the 4th time. I'll never know why. Your application for "STAYING LONGER THAN 90 DAYS" has been approved. THIS IS NOT AN EXTENSION OF STAY PLEASE NOTIFY YOUR ADDRESS AGAIN ON : 2024-05-22 (UTC +7) Full Name : Passport No : Nationality : Approved Date : 2024-02-22 17:01:21 (UTC +7)
  12. It is indeed inconvenient.
  13. Thanks for your advice. Like we say in Texas, with a wink and a smile ... Bless your heart.
  14. https://www.bumrungrad.com/en/patient-services/business-center
  15. Bumrungrad Office Center at the hospital does it for 650 baht. You don't need to be a patient. Good service.
  16. Back when they implemented the whole system they had to make a decision as to whether notification would be acceptable or if the notification itself would need to be subject to an approval process. Maybe it was a no-brainer for them.
  17. I have to say though, it is only taking them 24 hours or so after my submission for them to reject it with no explanation. I do appreciate that good service!
  18. I do use the magnifying glass and did check all the dates. 😞
  19. No reason. I have never been given a reason for rejection. Maybe it depends on the office. Mine is Chaengwattana.
  20. My online submission has been rejected three times despite being exactly the same as all other ones and my not having visited any place that would file a new TM30. So there is that...... No need to tell me I did something wrong or that it works perfectly for you. I have been using the online system since it started with varying degrees of success. Usually it works. I mailed it in yesterday but it was 12 days before the due date, not the 15 days required, so they will likely gleefully reject it also. They have cleverly designed the system so if you receive an online rejection it is too late to mail it in. Rant over. I guess I better go in person or have an agency do it for me. In the past I have use Bumrungrad business office but they now charge 600 baht. (No need to insult me for not just paying the 600 baht, although I am sure someone will. Enjoy yourself!) Any suggestions for a conveniently located agency that does the 90 day reporting at a lower price. Thanks.
  21. It takes a long time because the two teenager computer technicians they employ to handle the website are only available after school football practice on Saturdays.
  22. I did immediately resubmit. I have had the same experience as you. Accepted on my 3rd submission on occasion.
  23. Of course! I know exactly how to file and there has been no change since my last filing. I wonder if the men and woman who have the horrible job of sitting in front of their computer all day everyday and accepting and rejecting applications have a written or unwritten quota of rejections required. Actually, my suspicion is that it is somehow related to the February having 29 days this year and causing some computer glitch.
  24. Immigration Division 1: Same address for the last 10 years. Haven't stayed at any hotels or left the country in the last 90 days. How gosh darn hard would it be to tell me why it is rejected? I mean a simple prewritten explanation would take a moment to cut and paste or use a shortcut key. Dang blang it...... Dear ......., Your application for "STAYING LONGER THAN 90 DAYS" has been rejected. Please contact the nearest Immigration Office in person immediately. Full Name : Passport No : Nationality : Kind regards.
