Exactly. Most Starbucks in Thailand have very comfortable seating, excellent AC, great music played at a reasonable volume, clean convenient bathrooms and friendly competent staff. I am happy to pay for the experience and so are lots of other people. The coffee is OK, in my opinion, but I am no expert. I think the Starbucks bashing is really about something other than Starbucks.

I hope they have the good sense to institute a shuttle bus service for the hundreds of employees and Thai and farang folks who have business in the different buildings in the complex. (Maybe they have already?) I don't want to put my life in the hands of someone who's livelihood depends on getting me to immigration as fast as he can.

I had a dream last night that I went to pay for something and I had lost my wallet and felt discombobulated. Turns out Apple AirTags don't work with Android phones but Samsung offers a product for Galaxy phones called SmartTab2. Is anyone using it in Thailand? I am curious if it works well here. I have used Foodpanda pretty much every day for a few years now with relatively few problems and I have always accepted any issues with equanimity given the low delivery prices, wide restaurant selection and English format. However, it seems that things are heading downhill with odd screwups happening on a more regular basis over the last month or so. I know they have had pretty severe layoffs and are up for sale and I am curious if others have had the same experiences? I am not crazy about Grab as they seem intent on only pretending they are interested in providing an English interface and menus.

I often think about everyone responsible for that, especially the designer of that buildings landscape architecture. They've actually created something that forces pedestrians into one of the busiest intersections in the city and will eventually kill someone if it hasn't already.

The condo management not allowing short term rentals is a civil law issue not a criminal law issue. I am saying that the regulation/law against short term rentals is not being enforced. Nobody (with a couple high profile exceptions) is getting arrested for short term rentals, although they may face fines or other contractual remedies from the condo management.
