I get it. Trump is one lucky SOB! Even as it all implodes. and/or explodes, in the next couple years, he will still be loved and praised by his sycophants and they will surely believe it was not his fault at all. Cognitive dissonance in action. They are delusional. (No offense intended!) (I'm not saying... I'm just saying...!)

Strange and annoying things here in land of smiles

More often, for me, the food comes and then we sit around waiting for the rice. Either way, doh! -
The owner of the condo I rent has agreed to install a new AC and is willing to spend up to 20,000 baht plus installation costs. It is understandable that she wants to go cheap as the 30 year building lease is up in about 32 months and the leasehold condo building on Crown Property land in Bangkok will be demolished. I saw some TCL, Haier and a couple of other brands of 24000 BTU invertors at around this price and as cheap as 17,000 baht. Any suggestions/recommendations for specific models? Thanks. https://www.thaiwatsadu.com/th/product/แอร์ติดผนัง-Inverter-24,200-BTU-TCL-รุ่น-T-MTX-25-60403906

Anyone use these nasal cleaner type bottles?
ricklev replied to scubascuba3's topic in Health and Medicine
If you are mixing the saline solution yourself you have to use boiled or distilled water to avoid any infections. The saline solution salt sold at pharmacies and online comes premeasured for convenience. You add the specified amount of boiled or distilled water. The packets are cheap. Easiest thing is to buy bottles of normal saline solution (9%) but mixing it yourself is fine. Kit mach mai dee! -
Success after paying self-employment tax to get 40 quarters. It took many months but the correspondence with Manilla Federal Benefits Unit was always clear and prompt. There was a long wait (3 months) for the telephone interview, which is the last step before the application is forwarded to the USA for final approval. Retirement Benefits We have processed 3 of 3 steps of your application. We made a decision to approve your application on January 6, 2025.

Transgender Woman Assaulted by Foreigner on Pattaya Beach
ricklev replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
It's not the headline that is the problem. Anyone that has been in Pattaya more than a week knows that the description of what happened is nowhere close to what actually happened. -

Anyone use these nasal cleaner type bottles?

I order the 500 ml bottles with the normal cap, not the spray cap, from Lazada but Watson's and other pharmacies also sell them although not all carry the large bottle. -
My very long last name, unfortunately for Thai native speakers, has a V in it. I groan inwardly every time I am asked on the phone how to spell my last name because I know that when we get to the V it will be mistaken for a B or a Z and no amount of explaining it is a V not a Z or a B will suffice. Not the use of Zed, not saying ABCDEFGHIJKLMOPQRSTU V!!!!! It is hopeless. I have added this interaction to the dang blanged list (a similar list to the one you keep your credit card issue in)!

Yes! It is excellent. A perfectly designed product. I use it a few times a week. You can mix your own saline solution but I just buy large bottles of Klean and Kare 9% normal saline to keep it simple. -
I like an occasional Black Russian but I don't want to pay 1,200 baht for a bottle of Kahlua. Any suggestions for an alternative available at Villa or Tops? I used to buy a Vietnamese coffee liqueur that was okay but really really sweet. I think it was maybe 300 baht per bottle. I would like to find something maybe not quite as sweet.

She believed it to be useful.

Well, I don't know. I took it together with the azithromycin and that worked.

It was an educated guess that I participated in. I could have waited for a culture test. She was right though. The Z-Pac quickly cleared it up.

Went to an MD in Chiang Mai with an upper respiratory infection and she suggested I take Leftose https://www.leftose.com/ , in addition to a Z pack (an antibiotic) as she was fairly sure it was bacterial. I've never heard of it before as I am from the USA and it is not widely available there. i am curious if anyone has experience with it helping? Almost all reviews seem anecdotal.

I am sure it was the same clinic and doctor who accused me of buying benzos from one of her staff under the table or coming to the clinic twice for the same prescription. Completely and absurdly falsely! At least I think that is what she was accusing me of, she was incoherent on each of the three bizarre phone calls she made to me. I was patient and polite and tried to help her. I tried to make sense out of it from her staff who told me there was a problem the FDA (I think) was investigating.

Bit of an obscure question: Has anyone upgraded an old 10 digit tax ID number to the more recent 13 digit number in Bangkok? I am curious what documents I need and if it was subject to scrutiny regarding back tax withholding on fixed accounts/previously not filing, etc. I have had a Non-B visa and work permit for 15 years or so through a university I teach part-time for, but have never filed tax payments as no tax would be due (I should have though). However, the labor department says next year I should include the tax return for renewal of my work permit. They never asked for it before.

I was at the new One Bangkok mall yesterday. It was packed and the layout is very confusing with several buildings interconnected in, for me, odd ways and escalators seemingly randomly placed. I am sure it would all become clear after a couple of visits. Anyway, I started looking around for fire exits and signage. There were a few signs and maybe it met some fire code, but I could imagine the panic and confusion in fire as people desperately tried to figure out how to get down and out.

All my computer equipment is low end, so maybe that is the limiting factor, but is there any difference in speed of pages loading and torrents downloading between 1 Gbps and 2 Gbps? I can't even detect any difference when I upgraded from 500 Mbps.

Interesting. Maybe they do charge the restaurants, but here is another article, although it is from 2020. Maybe they have changed their policy. I am curious. Grab isn’t the only player in town. Its rival Line Man charges customers a considerably high fee for deliveries, but does not charge restaurants any commission on their food orders, except venues that opt in its low-fee delivery programs. https://www.khaosodenglish.com/news/bangkok/2020/04/01/grab-reduces-restaurant-commission-fee-after-uproar/
