  1. Now that is quality journalism to be proud of!
  2. I order the 500 ml bottles with the normal cap, not the spray cap, from Lazada but Watson's and other pharmacies also sell them although not all carry the large bottle.
  3. My very long last name, unfortunately for Thai native speakers, has a V in it. I groan inwardly every time I am asked on the phone how to spell my last name because I know that when we get to the V it will be mistaken for a B or a Z and no amount of explaining it is a V not a Z or a B will suffice. Not the use of Zed, not saying ABCDEFGHIJKLMOPQRSTU V!!!!! It is hopeless. I have added this interaction to the dang blanged list (a similar list to the one you keep your credit card issue in)!
  4. Yes! It is excellent. A perfectly designed product. I use it a few times a week. You can mix your own saline solution but I just buy large bottles of Klean and Kare 9% normal saline to keep it simple.
  5. I like an occasional Black Russian but I don't want to pay 1,200 baht for a bottle of Kahlua. Any suggestions for an alternative available at Villa or Tops? I used to buy a Vietnamese coffee liqueur that was okay but really really sweet. I think it was maybe 300 baht per bottle. I would like to find something maybe not quite as sweet.
  6. She believed it to be useful.
  7. Well, I don't know. I took it together with the azithromycin and that worked.
  8. It was an educated guess that I participated in. I could have waited for a culture test. She was right though. The Z-Pac quickly cleared it up.
  9. Went to an MD in Chiang Mai with an upper respiratory infection and she suggested I take Leftose https://www.leftose.com/ , in addition to a Z pack (an antibiotic) as she was fairly sure it was bacterial. I've never heard of it before as I am from the USA and it is not widely available there. i am curious if anyone has experience with it helping? Almost all reviews seem anecdotal.
  10. I am sure it was the same clinic and doctor who accused me of buying benzos from one of her staff under the table or coming to the clinic twice for the same prescription. Completely and absurdly falsely! At least I think that is what she was accusing me of, she was incoherent on each of the three bizarre phone calls she made to me. I was patient and polite and tried to help her. I tried to make sense out of it from her staff who told me there was a problem the FDA (I think) was investigating.
  11. Bit of an obscure question: Has anyone upgraded an old 10 digit tax ID number to the more recent 13 digit number in Bangkok? I am curious what documents I need and if it was subject to scrutiny regarding back tax withholding on fixed accounts/previously not filing, etc. I have had a Non-B visa and work permit for 15 years or so through a university I teach part-time for, but have never filed tax payments as no tax would be due (I should have though). However, the labor department says next year I should include the tax return for renewal of my work permit. They never asked for it before.
  12. I was at the new One Bangkok mall yesterday. It was packed and the layout is very confusing with several buildings interconnected in, for me, odd ways and escalators seemingly randomly placed. I am sure it would all become clear after a couple of visits. Anyway, I started looking around for fire exits and signage. There were a few signs and maybe it met some fire code, but I could imagine the panic and confusion in fire as people desperately tried to figure out how to get down and out.
  13. All my computer equipment is low end, so maybe that is the limiting factor, but is there any difference in speed of pages loading and torrents downloading between 1 Gbps and 2 Gbps? I can't even detect any difference when I upgraded from 500 Mbps.

    Grab app

Interesting. Maybe they do charge the restaurants, but here is another article, although it is from 2020. Maybe they have changed their policy. I am curious. Grab isn’t the only player in town. Its rival Line Man charges customers a considerably high fee for deliveries, but does not charge restaurants any commission on their food orders, except venues that opt in its low-fee delivery programs. https://www.khaosodenglish.com/news/bangkok/2020/04/01/grab-reduces-restaurant-commission-fee-after-uproar/
  15. I should be allowed to ride on the sidewalk, but no one else!

    Grab app

This surprised me, according to Google: "Line Man does not charge restaurants a commission on their food orders in Thailand. However, Line Man does charge customers a high fee for deliveries. As of the first half of 2024, Line Man had the largest market share of food delivery transactions in Thailand, with 44 percent." Lineman definitely does not cater to the expat market. Also interesting is that Foodpanda is not profitable although Grab is, I guess because of their ride hailing service.
  17. I just completed this quiz. My Score 20/100 My Time 52 seconds

Both Foodpanda and Grab screw up bad every once in a while and there is nothing you can do about it as neither offers the option anymore of actually chatting or talking with a real person. So every time you order you have to accept that it is a calculated risk but it usually works great. Delivery from both is cheap enough and convenient enough that it is worth the relatively small risk of an extended delivery time or some other absurd weirdness. In my opinion, that is. I use one or the other every day. They do generally refund my money if an order does not arrive at all or it is the wrong order.
  19. They will probably also throw out any USA strategies for dealing with future pandemics and any funding for implementation when a new pandemic occurs. Why? Because they are ideologues and sycophants in the service of an uneducated, uncaring and uninterested leader.
  20. What a ridiculous scam mattress pricing is. It is impossible to figure out if a sale is really a sale or to correlate price to quality. It's true in the USA too.
  21. It is still working, however they have region blocked it. If I set my VPN (ExpressVPN) to USA or Toronto it works perfectly.
  22. And just like that with everyone's help I figured out what I needed and got a good price. Thanks!
  23. Thanks! I am confused about the cable. Do I need a Type C to Type C to get maximum charging or does it charge the same with USB A to Type C? I think I have a Type C-2 on my laptop. ((1) USB 3.2 Gen 2.0 Type-C® port; 10 Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge)
  24. I recently bought a new HP computer which supports USB C charging. I was annoyed that it did not come with a 65W charger though, only the larger AC charger/cable. Any suggestions for a cheap 65W charger. Looking at Lazada it is impossible to figure out if the cheap ones are real or good. I usually just buy UGGREEN products but their cheapest one is 950 baht or so. I would like to pay 500 or less, but maybe that is not possible?
