(You have to deal with a lot of static when you post on Thai Visa!)
That's too bad about Houston. I used them a few times over the years.
El Paso honorary consulate used to be quite friendly, although its been several years since I used them. Give them a call though, you never know. I would get the list of honorary consulates fromt the Thai Embassy website and then call each one to check the requirements.

I buy Waitrose brand at Tops and Central market in Bangkok.

Based on your needs, I would recommend Dr. Thara Srikrai at Thantakit Dental Center. He is at their main branch at the Thantakit Dental Building on New Petchburi road. Not cheap, but it is a one stop shop and he is very good. My wife and I just used him for dental implants and absolutely no complaints from either of us. They have their own dental lab so crowns, implants etc. are quick and any adjustments needed are done in less than an hour. We were referred to him by our regular dentist (Dick Graham at JUSMAG).
Dr. Thara did a fine job and the experience at Thantakit was good. Tnanks again for the reference.

I'm guessing its that Walen school guy running this thing. Nice to see someone making their way in the Bangkok world!

Yes, I don't mean to be too critical. Best wishes for your business!

Requiring registration before access to the site is internet business death.
Lots of the daily deal and other internet business sites try it at first and then realize it won't work. Judging from the company's response, I'm guessing they will fade away quickly.

I just wish the buses would reliably stop at the bus stops to pick up passengers. If you take buses here, you know what I'm talking about!

Anybody know where Healthy Mate Tempeh is sold in Bangkok? I haven't seen it anywhere in a while. Tried to google them but the site comes up as infected in some way.
Thanks!

agave nectar
Is agave nectar available in Thailand?
Villa and Central Markets. Surprising, the stuff we are getting these days.

yet again, why does this thread still languish in general? it seems to quite clearly belong elsewhere.
much like Thailand itself, standards here seem to be entirely arbitrary.
You've been eating too much meat!

I think Govinda is OK food, it's just really expensive for nothing really that special.
There is nothing I like about Ethos. The food is bland and the name annoys me. The space is dirty, not air conditioned and poorly ventilated. BUT! That's just my opinion, I know some people like it. Go figure!
The vegetarian curry on rice place in the food court of Amarin Plaza has been taken over by new management (or has a new cook) and is less oily and better quality than it used to be. Give it a try.

The Bangkok Kuhn Churn does not have the buffet. The menu is similar to Chiang Mai but a lot more expensive. Seems to be higher quality vegetables at the Bangkok restaurant though.
I really like Anotai for good quality but it's difficult to get to.

I'm not 100 percent sure, but I think that the 556 now only runs from Makahsan Airport Link Station to the Southern Bus Terminal. I don't think it goes all the way to the airport anymore. I could be wrong.
I've never seen a bus at Makkasan, and I doubt they would add a 30-45 baht train ride to a 35 baht bus trip.
According to http://www.bangkokairportonline.com/node/56, the "Bus Number 556 - Suvarnbhumi - Southern Bus Terminal (Expressway) ... connects Suvarnabhumi Airport to Southern Bus Terminal via Yommarat - Democracy Monument - Thammasat University - Pata Department Store - Southern Bus Terminal."
If it's now going by expressway from Democracy Monument to Makkasan, then it's going to have a very difficult time because it will need to do a couple of U-turns to do it.
Well, I took the 556 bus from Pinklao to Panthip a couple of weeks ago and the ticket seller told me that the 556 buses terminate at Makahasan and I later read a similar post on 2bangkok.com's forum. But who know's, the 556 is a fickle route that's always changing. Still I would put my money on it no longer running to the airport.
There was a notice at the airport that all Express bus routes have ended on June 1st. That's the 150 baht bus service.
Assuming the 556 no longer goes to the airport, there is likely a van going to Sai Tai Mai bus station or Pinklao anyway at the transportation center. Or maybe not!

Airmai. Registered. Return reciept. For non-essential documents. If I recall correctly, you get a tracking number that does work with USA post. Cost is less than 100 baht.

I love my kindle. I hate the amazon logo right next to the screen. Apple gets how and where to place a logo.

Worth the extra money just for the comfortable seat!

Google Happy Cow Chiang Mai
Lists all of all the vegetarian places in Chiang Mai.
Best town in Asia for vegetarians! Lived there a couple of years and it was great having several Farang food veggie places and dishes in addition to all the Thai food.
I always enjoyed the veggie burger at Ohm and the Khao Rad place in the Central Airport food court.

I understand the clinic is important, but to me it's the skill, empathy and integrity of the individual dentist who is working on my teeth that's the critical factor.
I come all the way from Phit'lok to see Dr. Marayat Charoenvej, DDS, at Samitivej, Sukhumwit. I just had a cleaning yesterday. She is the most gentle and empathetic dentist I have ever met. She makes me feel like I'm one of her family or something. When I had to get a crown, she recommended a specialist and then looked in on the whole procedure and kept asking me if everything was okay -- and it was. m You can even e-mail her directly for a special appointment.
Thanks. I will definitely give her a try next time.
