  1. I dropped by Pala at Asoke earlier. They were busy.....which is always good to see in a pizza by the slice kinda place.

102 Baht for a slice of Salami and Olive pizza. Crispy stuff this and good salami.

Fine for a quick lunch or they have a range of pasta dishes one of which being consumed at the next table looked the part. I think 280 Baht each or so. ++

Hoping that the owner is reading this: The last two times I went to Pala it was uncomfortably warm in your restaurant. I guess it was 32 or so outside and not much cooler inside! You must be spending a fortune on rent at that location. Seems absurd to lose customers for a few thousand baht per month in electricity fees.

  2. My Thammasat BBA western students are pretty happy with the program, but almost all are exchange students. You will get a good education there so it wouldn't be a mistake. Admission is difficult. I don't know much about Mahidol, but I'm sure it's pretty good.

  3. Just bought a bottle of Uncle Tom R at Big C. It is really good. I don't know much about rum, but it tastes like butterscotch to me. Do they use additives and flavorings to get it to taste that way or is it really the molasses? Very smooth and excellent in a coke in any case. To my taste, much much better than Sangsom.

Here is the google translation from the distillers website:

Drinking liquor out of style (with the sea Caribbean) using molasses as raw material quality. Refined with a distillation column. Condensing temperature is 78 º c which is pure alcohol, which still has the smell and taste of onion is bagasse. Rum can be used instead of foreign redevelopment well. Rum to drink soft drinks are paired together with all kinds.

Uncle Tom R is suitable for mixing cocktails in the hotel restaurant, or the High-End is home to the guests at the reception.
