Overstaying is very silly in the country of smart cars, smart phones, smart cops and smart people.
If you want to be a criminal here, better bring a few kilos of heroin to Australia and become a member of the smart government later.

Why should Thailand make the long stay on the low end even more easy than it is right now (just 400/800k or a small monthly pension, the "horrible" 5 minutes each 90-days-visit).
Because those always complaining retirees are god's gift to the country?

Which counties? Certainky not the UK.
Cyprus, Greece, Italy and other EU-countries. It's called "Golden Visa". But for sure not available for retirees with a few bucks pension.

Does your country allow jobless foreigners to stay for 20 years without proving their source of income etc?
I assume you are not working, as if you had been, there are ways to get proper status here.
Right!
Where is the country that makes it more easy for small pension retirees to stay long time? Maybe PH with it's mountain high crime rates an punp gun guards in front of each 7/11? Or Cambodia with it's lack of each and everything except girls? I don't know.

I find it quite funny when retirees tell what they provided to the country.
As if they came here for altruistic reasons.
They came because of the girls, the warmth and because the living costs are (or were) much cheaper campared to their home countries.
No doubt, especially Issan has benefited much. Tens of thousands "stone houses" built by foreigners, whole families depending on retiree's money.
But when did the Thai elite ever care about the poor?

Your home country should have given you some proof.
My home country did. But the question is, if they accept it here.

If they've been diagnosed as infected one would assume they had symptoms?
One should think so, but it's wrong. As soon as PCR test is positive, you're "infected". Symptoms or not.
Another fact, but OT here: In Germany, if your PCR-test is positive and you die within 28 days, you are a Covid victim, even if you had an accident on the street or a deadly heart attack.

129.165 "infected"?
And how many of them are without symptoms?
Before Covid people without symptoms were called healthy, but the times they are a-changing.
15 dead, most of them with "underlying conditions"? A good reason for school closures that lasts more than a year now. Before Civid anyone would have called that hysteria.

The air transport will hopefully be managed by pros who know how to do.
And after that the cooling requirements for BionTech/Pfizer have been much relaxed compared to the first months of deployment.
You're right. It was -70 Celsius before. Now it's +2 - +8 after defrosting, but you have to use it within one month. If its above that it must be used within 2 hours

Which vaxx?
I know my family won't let Sinovac into any of the kids arms.
It's likely Pfizer, originally developed by Biontech. Sure it's not Sinvac, because it is not approved and used in Germany.
I hope the coolin curcuit won't be broken - which is quite dificile - and the authorities here are able to roll the vaxx out before expiry date.
Many of the German gifts to other countries expire soon. The reason is, they can't use it at home because of the still strong scepticism.

Investor visa and similar regulations are no new idea. Canada, Australia, NZ has them and afaik US too. Malta and Cyprus attracted many rich Russians the same way.
For us westerners it's not of much interest but I think we are not the target group. They want Chinese and Indians and for them it could work, depending to the conditions.

To focus on "new cases" (with or without symptoms) makes absolutely no sense, as anyone with math skills for 5 cents should understand:
Many tests, many cases. Less tests, less cases.
Relevant data would show the cases in relation to the number of tests.
Example:
1000 tested, 500 cases. Infection ratio = 50 percent.
10000 tested, 500 cases. Infection ratio = 5 percent.
As I said in another post, the virus does not only kill people, it seems to kill math skills too.
Since the outbreak started, we have billions of experts and millions of epidemiologists.
For all others I recommend to have a look at the study, made by John P A Ioannidis, peer-reviewed and pubished by the WHO
https://www.who.int/bulletin/online_first/BLT.20.265892.pdf
Ioannidis worked with official data (accepted by WHO) and found a infection fatality rate (IFR) of 0.23 (global) and 0.05 for aged under70.
After new data he corrected the IFR to 0.15-0.2 (global) and 0.03-0.04 (under 70).

No anti vaxxer, but listening. And I hear:
This data says nothing. You need to know the percentage of fully vaxxed, half vaxxed and non vaxxed people and set it into relation.
What a BS

Buying a property in Thailand is like buying a car in USA. As soon as you drive it from dealership you lose 25% of the value. Of course people in the past made money. They sold it at the perfect time.
Depends imho on what you buy and where. In my building the prices doubled between 2009 and now. Even with covid you must be very lucky to find one that's on sale - exept the overpriced penthouse and in that region the buyer market is always limited.

Getting a statement from Bangkok bank now takes 3-5 days??
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
I think, the waiting time for a 1-year-statement is different from bank to bank and branch to branch.
Last year I needed one because I never updated my book and Bkk bank Banglamung needed 14 days top rovide it. I was told it has to to be ordered from their HQ in Bangkok.
