As a European and not knowing much about US politics I ask myself if the Donald on the one and Biden on the other side really are the best, the US have to offer.
To me it seems as Biden was a bit mentally disabled. Sometimes not knowing, where is is, confounding his wife with his sister, believing he made climate agreements with Deng Xiauping and pretending he was imprisoned when he wanted to meet Nelson Mandela.

In other similar situations when they see me behind the wheel, they never actually stop the car, they usually just waive me on and dont engage me/us at all.
That's exactly my experience with the few stops I had all over the country in all those years.
But there are too many stories of drugs beeing placed by corrupt police during a search that I don't believe they're all made up.

Sweden, Hungary.. countries with a population of 10M each should - according to you - accomodate migrants from overpopulated countries, endlessly ?
Especially Sweden, Denmark and Switzerland are well known for their right wing, xenophobic governments. And the earth is flat.

You appear to know very little....
That's as sure as you are a fountain of wisdom ????
Just curious: Ever heared of the "Arab spring"? Of the Islamic state in Irak and Syria? That were the startpoints of the "refugee" flood in 2015, not the second irak war ages before.
But it's alwys nice to take the blame on the west, isn't it?
According to Thai saying:
If the farang was not there, nothing would have happened.

Isn't it a bit disturbing that in TV reports they mostly interview and show crying kids and helpless women, not the vast majority of strong young men with stones in their hands?
And btw: If a kid gets hurt by teargas it's parents are to blame for not keeping it out of the center of a violent situation, where "refugees" attack greek forces. Or do you think the greek gas grenades were fired some km behind the "frontline" where kids would be save?

Whilst I agree with most of the points you make, unfortunately, visa requirements, the higher cost of living, and the strong baht, has seen Pattaya fall out of favor with western tourists and expats.
Agree. But I think, this is throughout Thailand not specificly about Pattaya. And yes, Pattaya was - without pink glasses about the "good old times" - a by far better place 10 or 15 years ago.

Why should other European countries pay the bill for "refugees" invited by the Merkel-regime? The EU is not some kind of 4th Reich.
The German government better had consulted their neighbours BEFORE they invented their open border policy instead of letting a million migrants in an THEN demand them to take a share.
It's not up to the Germans to decide what others have to do.

DId it take 12 years for the migrants to reach European borders then?
What should the link you provided tell me?
I assume you are capable of identifying other Islamic majority countries, excluding Turkey, who in total host millions of Muslim refugees.
Jordania hosts many and - like Turkey - gets much financial help for that from Europe. But for sure not the crazy rich Gulf emirates.
Germany alone took a million migrants in 2015. How many more should it be to be enough in the eyes of some hyper moralists and do-gooders?

Nice to see a youngster with a positive sight on the place he decided to be and work. There are more than enough grumpy frustrated old men around.

yes the population is now higher but that's like saying Jews weren't genocided because there's more of them around today
The genocide of the european jews ended in 1945. According to some here the "genocide" on Palestiniens is going on, though - amazingly - the population is growing fast. See the difference?

You could obtain extension now or when you return assuming you return before your current until date stamp.
Are you sure you get a reentry on a single entry TV?

Is it Europe's problem if Saudi Arabia and the rich Gulf states don't grant protection to their islamic brothers?

Here in Australia it has been noted, if they can gain employment, (there is employment discrimination against refugees) refugees are hard workers who seek to improve their circumstances, not just try to live off the pitiful welfare provided.
And what exactly does Australia with illegal immigrants? How would Australia react if it had land borders and violent "refugees" in front?

Are you talking about Siam Bayshore Resort?
Sorry, my fault. It was the Siam Royal View of course.
But Pattaya itself has none of this nature, and is poorly placed for reaching it, compared to e.g. Ao Nang or even Chiang Mai.
You find nice and not at all crowded beaches and some lovely islands near by. You're right about the mountains, I miss them badly. We don't have paragliding here, but those spots I saw in the north were not really worth visiting compared to the ones I know from Europe.
That, and of course that it’s overrun by (cheap) tourists, and so many places just cater to tourists.
My impression is that there are less low lives from Europe in the last years, but yes, it is too crowded. Right now without the Chinese it's quite comfortable and it's easy to avoid the typical tourist places.
Have you ever been to the food court at Big C? Boy that is depressing…
True. Both BigC and Royal garden went down many years ago. Next time try the food store at Central Festival on Second/Beach Rd. Excellent fruit there. If you prefere morr thai style, then visit the Naklua food market.

Try - as ONE example - "Siam Bay View". There's a couple of pool villas priced around 50 million THB or more. One's owned by Swiss friend of mine. Very nice.
Looking for a 600m2 penthouse straight on the beach? I can help.
But I confess, those places are usually not offered for short time rent.
And to the lack of daytime activities:
You play Golf, Squash, Tennis, Badminton, Snooker or something like that.? Welcome.
But you're right so far as there are no places to hug buffaloes, watch the rice growing, discuss with your teethless Thai neighbor the rising somtam prices and other enyoements like that.

Some of the posters here just know Walking Street, Soi6 and Soi Buakao I guess.
Pattaya is a bit more than that:
Far better climate than Bangkok, if you live at the beach.
Plenty of good restaurants in a 10 minutes driving distance.
Shops offering anything a farang could need.
One of the best international schools in Thailand
80 minutes to the airport
Fast and stable internet
Golf courses around and now less crowded
A farang comunity (no, not the tattooed low lives in muscle shirts and flipflops) which you won't find somewhere in the djungle)
Nice beaches a few km outside
Some very nice, high standard and well maintained condos which you will hardly find outside Bangkok, I guess.
Not so bad IMO

Who's number one? Libya? They might cheat and include the victims of roadside bombings to steal the crown from Thailand.

While I mostly get nice reactions when speaking to common Thais in their language I have the impression it's not that good doing so in contact with officials like police, IOs etc. But I might be wrong.
