"Markets" have erased the gains of the last 3 years within a month.
Analyze that.
With pleasure:
S&P in March 2017: ca. 2350
S&P yesterday: 2422
"The S&P is higher than on 3rd January 2019"
Correct, but misleading.
Anyone who bought the S&P between 2018 and now (and was holding it) lost on the paper, if he not bought exactly at the low you stated.

Funny analysis.
On 03. January 2019 the S&P was near the low after a meltdown from 2900 in mid 2018.
If you bought the S&P at that moment - and who ever gets the best buying point? - you have today a minimal win.
If you bought somewhen in 2018 you are at best at your buying price or lower
If you bought in February 2019 or later you lost massivly according to today.

In which universe are you living?
Germany sends 1 million masks and the EU is preparing a huge financial aid to the secure italien banks and economy which is much more important than send some items for public relation reasons.
Do a fact check next before you critizize what you don't understand

You might like to read a bit closer before babbling nonsense. The fact is approved by the German interior minister, the foreign minister and other officials.

This is a convenient excuse for countries that response to the virus late and not having adequate health system to monitor and prepare for any emergency. The leaders of these countries should be taken to task for their failings to protect their citizens. Singapore and Hong Kong are worthy of praise for their prompt policy response and comprehensive health care infrastructure. They have low infections and no death.
This is not an excuse. It is fact that China covered the outbreak for weeks. If reported earlier the rest of the world coud have acted earlier. Simple logic.
And there's not only Singapore and Hongkong doing a fabulous job. Don't forget the maybe most successful, the Taiwanees.

As others said already: It's crazy not to do the run now. The situation obviosly will get much worse the coming weeks and the upcoming phobia here enhances the risk getting caught somewhere on the street and go straight to the IDC in Bangkok, where your chance to get the virus might be much higher than anywhere else.

China isn't capitalising but rather offering help to others.
China would have helped others - the rest of the world - more if they had not covered the outbreak for over a month just the save their bloody face.
These weeks would have done more than a couple of plasma bottles now and their conspiracy theories that the virus was invented by the evil empire US.

Here in Pattaya we had the reported problems with 3BB on saturday for a couple of hours. No issues with Thai based sites and most .com pages, but no connection to many .de websites.
Using 3BB now for three or four years I have to say they with very few exceptions are super stable and fast. Much better than my multiple providers in so called first world Germany.

Actions like this will surely tighten the ties between our western countries which would be badly needed in times of upcoming China and the aggressive islamistic threats to our freedom and lifestyle.

BS! In times like these travel restrictions and lock downs inside the countries and at their borders are an important measure to fight the spreading.
At the moment the crisis is over the border will be open again.
I'm surely not pro EU and it's non democratic buerocrats, but the hate I read here in many posts by Brits is laughable and small-minded. To those:
Your "empaah" is gone. Enjoy hanging around on your small island and keep on hoping there won't be a border between you and Sctoland in the future.

I'm watching the situation here and in Germany closely and will decide from day to day as long as there even are still direct flights to Munich.
Europe may be the epicenter now, but who really believies in Thai numbers provided by people like Anutin or the general? How will we "dirty farangs" be treated here in the worst case?
If things go very wrong I would prefer to be isolated in my home in Germany with its much better infrastructure, supplying chaines and medical system.
We're in the health business. Our four locations in Germany will work until end of next week. After that we are prepared to close and send our staff home. In such a situation there are many meetings to hold and a lot of communication with the employment office, the health department and other state run agencies is to be done. All that would be easier being in Germany but thank god there's skype, eMail and the internet, so I don't have to be there under all circumstances.
Right now the economical impact personally scares me more than the infection itself. These now upcoming problems will IMO last longer than the virus itself.- 3

Unbelievable ????
The US start their bio weapon to hit China, then they are to stupid to stop the outbreak before their own people get infected while not having an antidot.
They must be even more moronic than Thai generals.
Where's my tinfoil hat?

An average tourist stays in Thailand about 2 weeks, not more. Every expat spends more every month just by living. On top of that they buy bikes, cars and stuff they need on a regular basis. I don't think you're staying in Thailand long term. You sound like a tourist to me.
But a tourist who's not so wrong with his sight:
The linked numbers are roundabout the same I read a few month ago from another source which I can't find anymore.

No Germany-bound shipment of masks was diverted to the US: embassy
in Thailand News Headlines

And what has this "post" to do with the topic? Or should we discuss the lying and cheating US airplane manufactors, using passengers as beta testers?
Fact is, the masks were ordered and payed by the Berlin Police Force, then they disappeared at Bangkok airport and made their way to the US. Surely a coincidence.
