More details on Thai taxation of overseas income
CartagenaWarlock replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You pay taxes that is not yet taxed or pay the difference between the two if one is lower than the other. For example, you sell a property for 200K USD and brought the entire amount to Thailand (the year now does not matter). In the US some will pay capital gains and some will not. Let's say you pay x amount in the US and according to Thai income tax rules you must pay y amount. If x >= y, you don't pay anything. If x < y, you pay the difference y-x. That is how US citizens pay their taxes (not corporations) no matter where the income is earned and kept. After paying local taxes, you pay the US the difference. It may be zero or more. -
My doctor orders Hba1c and ask me to do the finger prick test. I bought a cheap chinese smartwatch that uses IR based sensor to measure blood glucose. I used it in conjunction with finger prick method and collected more than 100 data points over a month for one specific subject - Me. While the accuracy of such non-invasive measurement is still in question, i found the non invasive measurement is highly correlated with finger prick data to the tune of 0.92 for R (squared). The F statistics is also meaningful in rejecting the null hypothesis - there is no correlation. I heard recently Huawei has launched their smartwatch with IR sensor for blood glucose monitoring.

I don't think it's pension or any other incomes by foreigners or Thais. Any income that is not taxed by another country will have to pay taxes when they bring the money back to Thailand. There was a loophole that one could park their money outside Thailand for one year and get it the following year without paying any taxes and that loophole is closed. As it as simple as that. Now what immigration want for foreigners who live in Thailand using retirement extension, "wify visa" etc. are up in the air.

This will affect wealthy Thais, e.g. who have foreign capital gains or foreign income (except W2) in the US for which they don't pay taxes in the US assuming their own governments will tax them. However, earlier they could relocate the prior years gains into the current year without paying any taxes in the US or Thailand. That loophole is closed. As an American or permanent resident, I assume you pay your taxes in the US for your worldwide income and there will be no further taxes. For other nationalities, I have no idea. If they are already avoiding paying taxes in any countries will be subject to Thailand taxes.

I have a Dtac that came with the fiber package I got from 3BB. I pay additional 100 baht/month. It has 20GB data per month but no voice.I think it may have SMS because I get all the OTPs from two Thai banks and also I get the OTPs in the USA also. -
Germany is a vassal state of the US just like other Western states. They will do what America says. America has decided Germany's MTU 396 diesel engine is a military/defence item. China will develop its own. Just like they developed 7nm chips using old fabrication technology and they keep on improving and and soon have their own 3nm chips in the next few years.

Maybe they think you're going to steal from their store. In the USA I threatened a JCP manager to bring a class action lawsuit twenty years ago. But you have left your home land to seek refuge in a foreign country, may be using a "wify visa" which is a double whammy. So you lost all the power of complaining except in this hate filled forum to bash Thais, Chinese, and Indians. You reap what you you sow.

You will get a 30-day visa exempt entry that you can extend for another 30-day. Or you can get a TV and there is no need to visit immigration, TM30, etc. etc. It's a better option in my opinion otherwise you may end up wasting one day to get an extension though man y people will claim they get it in 30-minute and then come here cry why they did not get it in 30-day. This forum is full of hypocrite people and if you are lucky may be you will get an extension in 30-minutes.
