Thailand prepares for worst case scenario after Songkran
CartagenaWarlock replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
No need to test. Look at India. And US CDC recognized India's numbers and put it in low risk level 1 country for Covid compared to Western Europe which are recognized for high risk level 4 country. People lacking smartness and living as refugee in a foreign land on "wife visa" whose voices are never heard outside this forum can rant as much as they want but nobody really cares. Follow India's path Thailand will soon be put in Level 1 low risk country and more Americans will flock to Thailand as "wife visa" refugees. -
I don't know who I believe. The US CDC considers India a very low risk (Level 1) Covid country but most Western Europe as high risk (Level 4) or shall a believe a "wife visa" refugee whose voice is heard in only in this forum. The choice is tough US CDC vs "wife visa" refugee. I will go with US CDC.

Has anybody tried chromebook recently? I want a high-end chromebook for around 20K. I see HP 13.5" 2-in-1 x360 with 256 GB NVMe and 8GB RAM. Under 3 Lbs. 10th Gen i5. Touch screen 1920 x 1280. Completely foldable to make it a tablet also. For the past few years I can't remember anything I have used outside a browser. Any feedback on chromebook?

Instead of ramping up booster shots and sticking to the plan, they are dilly dallying with non-sense discussions everyday. Just stick to the plan and ramp up booster shot though I am not still convinced if booster have any effects or not by looking at increased death in Europe with a high rate booster shots.

India has a very low count around 1,000 infection/day. Of course most people don't believe it but US CDC considers India as a level 1 country compared to most European countries at level 4, including UK, Germany, and France. It all depends on how many a country tests and reports and what CDC believes.

Thailand, being a year round sunny country, should be in the forefront of solar energy. They should be producing 50% electric energy need from solar. -
Spectacular ruble come back. Now it is trading almost the same as at the start of the war. How did Russia achieve this feat? By demanding all gas payments in ruble, thereby forcing buyer to put buy demand on ruble? It's now the top performing currency in the month of March. The enormous hole created in the sanctions for easy buying of Russian gas by European countries, specially by Germany so that its people don't suffer. As soon as India realized the nifty trick played by the western countries, they jumped in and abstained from voting in UN criticizing Russia for its invasion of Ukraine and started negotiating with Russia for cheaper oil imports. Now there is a steady flow of foreign currency to Russia. Russia holds around 640 Billion dollar worth of foreign currency in European and USA banks which are under sanctions except the western countries left a big hole for their own benefits. Interest payments on Russian foreign currency denominated sovereign bonds are exempted and US treasuries allowed intermediaries to process payments from those banks for interest payments of Russian dollar denominated sovereign bonds. By increasing the interest rate to 20%, the central bank of Russia almost tempted Russians to keep their ruble in their own banks, instead of withdrawing it in dollar or Euro. Russia also forced exporters to convert 80% their foreign currency remittances into rubles.

Indian medical science is pretty advanced and cost very cheap compared to Thailand. Also, staff, nuuses, and doctors all speak english. Sometimes, I think of getting a permanent Indian visa as a qualify to get one as my grandfather was an Indian who migrated to Trinidad and Tobago. But I already have four passports from four countries (USA, Trinidad Tobago, Antigua and Barbosas, and Spain) and never felt the need to to get an Indian permanent visa. And the damn paper works to prove that my grandfather was an Indian discourage me to start the process.

Authorities Confirm First Omicron XE Case in Thailand
CartagenaWarlock replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
So, covid is evolving to a flu like virus. Increase the booster vaccination rate, though recent death rates per million people in Europe, specially UK, France, and Germany is not very encouraging. USA is doing relatively better. You can't defeat the virus. Don't digress from your planned reopening. FDA (USA) has already approved second booster for 50-years older but there are not enough takers in the USA for the first booster itself. -
Visa Agent Catch
CartagenaWarlock replied to JimTripper's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I'm not doing it as I already have a elite card for 20 years. I think UK residents should have access to invest in S&P 500 also. I was just giving an example. I don't think it is illegal. I have never heard somebody got arrested for obtaining retirement extension through an agent. Read a few reports when an gent was using fake stamps, the agent got arrested. But he was using fake stamps. Not going through the proper channel to get immigration stamp from an immigration office. -
Visa Agent Catch

Why care. 800K invested in US market will return you much more than what you pay to agents in perpetuity while compounding does it magic. You are already spending money in Thailand to help its economy. The spirit of the game is well orchestrated. -

Surin first province to make COVID endemic on April 1
CartagenaWarlock replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
UK, Germany, France all are showing increased deaths/million population in the last 7-days. Only USA is showing a declining trend with only 30% boosters and 66% vaccination rate. Anti-vaxxers are grabbing this stats in the USA to debunk effect of vaccination rate and booster shots in the wake of FDA's approval for second booster shot for 50-years and older. -
