  1. Perhaps I do not have a good knowledge with Garmin units; i bought one few weeks ago.

When you are a destination it is easy to bookmark where you are and easy to get to it the next time, for outside Bangkok, it work wonderfully, but it is not a street directory, it is a navigator.

In Bangkok I did not find it is very good, lanes changes from one way to two ways, traffic or road blocks, none are display in the Gramin, streets assistant I think at this stage is not available in Thailand.

I bought a separated memory card, the shop did load the english map, lots of details in it.

  2. If you like Indian food then the buffet at the Rembrandt Hotel on Sukhumvit soi 18 is outstanding.

I take it you're referring to the Sunday 800 Baht including unlimited cheap vino?

Or are they now doing this all week?

Anyway its a great buffet for sure!

Yes, I should have been more specific. It is only on Sunday, 11:00 to 2:30, Price B 850 Net

Vino ? i went there 16 months ago i did not remember they have wine, is it new ? nice buffet for sunday

    4. If you are looking for a space to store this year's deer, pounds per

cubic foot is a big deal. Freezers can hold 15-20 pounds per cu. ft. For

example, a 20 cu. ft. freezer will hold 300 to 400 pounds of food. Keep this

in mind when you're deciding which freezer to purchase.

    From

    6.5 Cu * 15 pounds = 97 pound = 43 kilo

    plenty for me

  4. I saw some in Makro and some at sinsiamelectronic, one other shop I know have Sanyo 9.5 cu, just wonder if anyone know of other places. Size about 7 cu

  6. Due to months without rain Khao Yai and many of the other places with waterfalls, have very little water.

What use to be majestic waterfalls are nearly dry at this point in time.

Khao Yai has nice large cabins for rent at the summit 100 meters or so from the Visitors Center.

There is also the Grandview Resort with lake, tennis courts, mountains bikes and pool at the Khao Yai Prachinburi entrance.

This is quite a large place http://www.kaoyaigrandviewresort.com/

It is so slow there I am sure you could swing a deal for rooms in your price range. (air con rooms normally 1400thb but as mentioned they are deadly slow)

Not sure how the water condition is at Kanchanaburi, maybe someone can chime in?

I will check the place, this morning i find a place in Khao Yai, i will be there for 10 days from next week, they happy to have me with my pug!

i will post after my stay the name and my opinion about the place for future viewer.

    Thank

  7. I will like to take 10 days off next week, i am looking at three days (2 bungalows) and 6 days (1 bungalow) i am with my Pug (nice small dog)

Anyone know of a friendly pet resort? around 1000 baht a bungalow

    Thk

could be Khao Yai area as well !

  8. Well, perhaps both of you are right, I did not contact them the last 8 months, Whatchamacallit you said in your post ‘Or you thai condo (for Non-O)’

I did show the proof of two substantials properties I own outright (commercial & residential) but they are not in Thailand, perhaps that did the trick, plus my statement from my Oz bank account.

I will email Bill Dunn & his wife Chamaiporn Dunn, very soon to thank them greatly for they help, regarding my O visa, they issue me the last few years very soon, I am doing a retirement visa this time!

I cannot give you a yes or a no if I was going to make it this year, I presume yes i will, I did not receive a email from Brisbane consulate stating the opposite !

    Cheers to all

  9. Thanks. I will follow your advices.. I am gonna looking for a friendly consulate... where can i find it? Do you mean I have to go back to Italy? Or where? I heard about malaysia... I am not sure about it... Thanks again..

Hmmmm obviously you haven't been reading all the advices :) if you're going to apply for the Non-O based on visiting friends and relatives (as far as I know) the (only) two friendly consulates are: Perth (Australia) and Hull (England).

    Add Brisbane (Australia)

I heard Brisbane will not accept Non-O based on visiting friends - however if you can proof you own a condo (property) you can get a Non-O with multi entries. Can anyone confirm this??? I have a friend on the Gold Coast and would like to go there next year for my Non-O visa instead of Perth.

I do not know about visiting friends visa, just know i have a good relation with them, financial is important if you want to live here ! they like to see the prove of that

Why you do email Mr Bill Dunn to ask him ? he is most helpful

  10. In Thomas Mann's The Magic Mountain (Der Zauberberg) HC goes to visit his cousin at the mountain sanatorium but ends up staying for 7 years. For how many years can one claim to be visiting friends?

However, as the OP stated that he has a very good business outside the Kingdom, he may be able to qualify with the right maneuvers for a long-term 'B' Visa of the no-WP kind.

In the application form the last 12 years i never write ' visiting friends ' i just email the consulate and told this person, i have mean and like to live in Thailand, if they are certain you not going to look for a teaching job because you short of money, i do not see the problem.

Anyway that is my case, when you find the friendly consulate, they will give you a 1 year O multiple entries years after years, i am 52 now and just decide to go through the retirment prossess.

  11. Thanks. I will follow your advices.. I am gonna looking for a friendly consulate... where can i find it? Do you mean I have to go back to Italy? Or where? I heard about malaysia... I am not sure about it... Thanks again..

  12. The rules of insurance are really easy, if you have a license plate you can get insurance. No license plates no insurance. Sure you can get insurance for your garage, some low-life criminal takes your ATV you get your money back... But if you park at 7Eleven and they take it there you can forget about filling a claim...

Thank you, it make sense, i will ask the Polaris guy if UTV can have a license plate, motobikes can !

    Happy Thai New-Year
