Ants are attracted by electric components.
Many road lights use to get short circuit by ants.
Perhaps if problem persist the best will be to stop them access, at the table’s legs put a plastic cup with water.

Bravo for Pioneer
I bought a DVD player few weeks ago, after a little use I could not use the remote, the problem was from the player.
A Thai friend at first ring the service and he told me : I need to get the machine to Pioneer and a 7 days will be need for repair.
I was not happy with this arrangement, I fax / email the service, and Pioneer call me back to see what arrangement would be possible for my satisfaction.
The best solution we find:
Bring the unit (near my place) to a service shop; the new part will be waiting for me and the repair done will I wait.
Everything went in order & I got my player fix on the spot yesterday.
Pioneer make the effort to please a customer… thank you to them and to Mr choke.

Does anyone know what the extra cost is to have UBC in another room in the house ? We are on the gold package at present with something like Bt1400 a month for the TV and Bt150 or so for renting the box.
i am pretty sure it will be extra cost
if i was you i will look at setting it myself.
Sorry no more info, but i know someone who have it, can look at two different channels on two different locations.
Perhaps more replies later from someone in the know.

Perhaps I am wrong but I read in the Bangkok post few weeks ago, Bank‘s deposit in Thailand are secure.
Not sure about the amount but around:
2008 up to 10 millions
2009 up to 5 millions
2010 up to 2 millions
Start to worry after 2010

I am coming back with my first quote:
Ombudsman
Did anyone contact it in Thailand?
I know they save me a bundle in Australia regarding a accident with a fairly new car, insurance want to fix when it was at the limit of the quota..
Insurance went bully at me
‘you do not agree, your car can stay like it is ‘
The ombudsman went bully at them
‘you fixe the car, I will look into the repair & will make it do it again if no perfect’
I go the cheque few day after..

That SMS is a new craze, since May this year. Many banks use it.
You can get around it by calling the bank and asking them to switch that feature off. After identifying you, they gladly do that, and it's off for 24 hours.
No problem if you do that several days in a row. I had to transfer 50K A$ and then 30K A$. They easily disabled that SMS on 2 consequitive days and it was OK.
To transfer 2000A$ will cost you 20A$ + whatever the recipient bank charges. I have heard up to 600B (which is, conveniently, about 20A$).
You are sending A$ but they come in THB, that means you get a bit better exchange rate (onshore rate).
If you transfer by 3pm Sydney time, the money is there next business day(they exchange money xfers 2am Oz time).
Think Thank for the reply & information
I am award of sending only AU dollars to Thailand (overseas), the rates today are sell 32.09 against 26.27 in Foreign Exchange Rates – Australia, That is around 20% skimming!
I send some euro to my brother, got a bad deal as well, but I could not win there.
If I sent AU dollars to Europe, a bad exchange rate was waiting for them.

if anyone know:
every 7 weeks i ask a friend in australia to transfer some money into my bangkok bank account ( sent dollars ), been doing it for few years, no problem.
My Question: Could i do it myself from my national bank account to my Bangkok bank account on internet ??
I don't see what your question is.
Why not? It's already available. What is the problem?
NAB is among the leaders in that field, if I can do it through StGeorge bank, you should be enjoing that feature too.
thinktomuch, i just logg into my NAB and yes i saw NEW international transfer but before i could see what is all about i got this :
To protect the privacy and security for NAB Internet Banking customers, SMS Security is required for this function.
I do not have a australia sim card / phone.
Anyway how much it cost to transfer like said 2000 dollars ? are they sending the fund in australian dollars ? how long it take ?
I think for the transfer i get i paid 35$ in australia and 200 baht here
thank for the information

My friend told me this weekend, it is no possible to get AU$ at bank or black market, I ask him about transfer, he said bank refuse if it is not something like tuition fees or business.
Perhaps the banks are trying to get less foreign exchange rates into the country? BOT are getting low in fund to manipulate the currency?
But perhaps it is an absurd idea & the baht should be strong because TIT
