i like Bangsaen , they have few nice seafood restaurant there , once got some very nice oyster.

in kowsan road , all hotels are over crowded and expensif.

for good value you need to cross the road , and go around the temple , Way Chai Chana song kram ( many guess houses there ) .

best value are a little further ( 10 minutes walk from kowsan )

take thanon Samsen and soi S . samsen 6 .

they are around the 350 - 450 baht a night .

i do not know what tax reports Thailand want / allow , a report with profit & loss, and balance sheet can be read by any accountant (well i hope so).

You will need to see accountant to ask him .

I just know MYOB is a Australian system , and use by many business in Australia .

I use MYOB for my own business in Australia, have a printing company to make the cheque ( A4 ) with the bank authorization and printing few hundred a month for wage and expense was a breeze ( window envelop ), reconcile account and tax / worker / holiday paid etcetera

I did buy few time from MYOB in Australia, just have a copy for the upgrade bought in pantip last year with new GST code .

If you are in Australia , suggest to talk to your accountant , and try the program , take bit of time to setup .

Not sure what sort of business you want to open !

Just out of curiosity SimCity; where do you get smoked salmon in Bangkok? The salmon they have in foodland (only place I know that sells it) sucks big time - old and overpriced..

I got some at Carrefour / makro / villa market / sometime foodland... but the best are from Narai restaurant in silom ..

Generally I get 8-10 plates every time , they have caper and soar cream and a no working pepper grinder ! they have a sashimi bar with fresh salmon, the ice cream ok , salads ok , espresso machine ! I do not take the main course or entry ..just happy with the smoked salmon dinner !

I am nearly in the same situation, I did open a tread regarding new fees charge on atm withdraw.

-Visa is charging 2.8 % on any purchases ( yes new fees ) and withdraw but the echange rate are a bit more as cash .

-I switch to American express they charge only 1.25 $ for cost but the exchange rate are 1.7 % less as with the visa card .

-I will be looking in two weeks at condition for the cirrus / handy card / atm cash withdraw card ( my friend use it here and we did not see the 2.8% fees on his online statment)

-Perhaps I will organize a automated transfer from my Australian account to my Bangkok bank, or ask a friend to do it for me .

I highly doubt the USD is going to remain the king of currencies. One interesting note about the current rise in the Dollar is the parellel rise in gold. Historically gold is a safe haven for a shaky reserve currency...when the dollar falls, gold rises and visa-versa.

However this time around gold is also rising with the dollar...leading me to believe the dollar is no longer supreme...Gold is rising because of the shakyness of the euro...

That must be because so many people think the rise of the dollar is factice and manipulated.

The dollar start to fire when the talk about the revaluation of the Chinese Yuan start and when the NO of the Europe happen the value increase a lot.

Many currencies as been the same against the US dollar.

The Thai bath are at lost , and the euro .

The Thai economy are waking up , with problem about low tourist / cost of the petrol / south killing / dengue fever and more .
