Here in the states, I found Kerrygold (from Costco) to be a butter a lot of people, myself included, love to eat. I eat it daily for a keto-ish diet. Is there a similar brand in Thailand? I assume it is imported from New Zealand? And how much are butter prices for high quality grass-fed butter? Tolerable? How is domestic? We try to be on the healthy side with food (organic as we can, food with fewer additives if any) and mostly cook at home - and its cheaper to do so. My wife is Thai and we plan to move there eventually.

Wife and I will have a shared budget from savings, but she works and will take early retirement and not have social security for awhile - if it is still around.

It's a distraction. Flood the zone of information. Chaos works great. Follow the money. Cruelty.

I will admit traveling to Thailand in the past without proper insurance. Found out later company insurance didn't cover being abroad. Luckily, was not on any scooters and upcountry and fairly responsible, mitigating some danger. When I was let go from my last company, I thought I had, by default, 3 months of insurance. Unfortunately, were supposed to call them and opt-in. At the time, I was in Europe and was unaware, not trained, about bicycle lanes. I bike with basically a battery ram, a V-shaped welded arrow on the front of me, nearly nailed me in the ankle/shin. That could have put an end to me ever walking again. Could have snapped the shin right there and the bike rider didn't seem to care. Then after Europe was off to Thailand, solidly, no insurance. This will continue to happen. These accidents. Unfortunately. Insurance or not. And people don't mitigate the dangers by wearing a helmet, proper clothing, gloves. You will see it here in the west, USA, most people don't seem to wear helmets riding bikes, scooters, going at high speeds. Sad its not enforced.

If not Thai, a nobody sort of. Not in Thailand, but abroad and live with Thai wife and we have some Thai housemates. It's a struggle trying to get things done. They know better and need no instructions and there's no follow-up. Mai Pen Rai is all I can say, even if it is your house.

I'm expecting it to be boring and will be lucky if that is the case. We need to keep ourselves entertained no matter where we care.

Thailand is the center of the universe, at least that's the impression I'm given. A huge amount of ego and pride among themselves.

That's how the ladies act in the States. It is really odd. Every man seems to be a creep to them and you just have let them be. It's not even worth it to talk to them in any capacity for whatever reason.

I feel its unsafe for any American to travel there. May as well go to Russia and become a potential political pawn. I lived in Korea for a few years long ago, was fully fluent, etc, etc,

Apparently, 70% of Americans don't have $1,000 in savings. Can't imagine what its like in Thailand and hear enough about their debt problems.

I was in Austria last year and migrants (non-white) were doing much of the work. And lots of them had their own shops, as well as selling on the streets - goods, vegetables. Handymen. Housekeepers. Cleaning people. Moving guys. Checkout stand workers. On and on.

Most of the interesting commenter have simply disappeared over the years. I've been on and off for the last 14 years, from the days of Thaivisa, and people are just stop posting. You wonder what happened to them. People have other outlets and more going on in the world with the internet. This was probably a big place back in the day and now it's just another site about Thailand. There surely were some interesting times on Thaivisa a decade or more ago. Wasn't sure if Thailand was for me after reading the forum topics and posts. More sterile now. There's not much to say, anymore. Or YT channels have covered it a million times. Much of the internet is boring now. No real single community or two anymore. Homogenized as well.

Done fighting the world and tuning out. Let the young people fight for change and justice. Do what you can in daily life to make the world better. Change yourself to change the world. Yep, but sometimes its too much trust (yeah...) with insurance companies. A lot of due diligence is necessary and even then... Suffice to say, most people are lackadaisical about coverage, getting paid, and taking some risk. At their age, they should have medical airlift insurance. Maybe everyone should consider it depending on the price. Insurance is pretty cheap if you prorate it. Mine was $450 for 7 weeks in Europe last year and made sure it wasn't crap insurance. Per day, it's peanuts and was 1,000,000 coverage. Even that might not be enough, but you roll the dice. The details of all these cases seem to be murky and not much information is provided as to why they are in their predicament. Clearly, they were not prepared.

Don't use AN much. Used to for news, but it's either depressing or the same thing, different day. Maybe every few months or less. Have stopped watching the news in general, X, FB, or any other social media now. It's YT 99% now online. Or doing something else. I don't live in Thailand, yet, but regardless...

Good on this end. Hasn’t always been easy as par for the course for most any relationship. Either work through it or move on. Always have hope.

Maybe find a girlfriend to cohabitate with. Teach English online or classroom. Maybe Cambodia can be cheaper for you.
