2000 positive cases a day and talking about opening the country.
who is going to come ?
Are they still counting on the return of the high spend Indians and Chinese.- 5

Looks like the numbers are fairly stable.
It makes you wonder though how much proactive testing is going on in hotspots or is it limited to testing people presenting with possible symptoms ?
Are they actively tracing and testing known close contacts ? I think it unlikely given the enormity of that task with over 2000 positive cases a day.

If u can't read portuguese. Heath ministry commission approved it. Local FDA rejected it. Looks like another case of "funny business".
Don't worry its 2021 everyone has access to google translate no need to be able to read portuguese.
That was yesterdays report before it was given the boot today by Anvisa.

The fact is: all data about Sputnik trials is published in the Lancet magazine.
Then, the results of trials are here: https://sputnikvaccine.com/about-vaccine/clinical-trials/
I am sure this would not be enough for you... Just live with it.
Just because the trial data has been published does not mean that it is accurate or the methodology is correct. Its just the data that they have presented

Sputnik V has just been rejected by the Brazilian Health Regulator stating "Serious Defects"
Quote:
Anvisa’s five-strong board voted unanimously not to approve the Russian vaccine after technical staff highlighted “inherent risks” and “serious” defects, citing a lack of information guaranteeing its safety, quality and effectiveness

I wouldn't do a thing unless I was granted a usufruct to allow me to stay there for the duration of my life.
Just how do intend to get an unsfruct on something you do not own and are not paying for ? Sisters land, Daughter holds mortgage on property. Am I missing something here?

I know but house prices are consistently priced far less per sqm than condos in the same area.
I am baffled.
May have something to do with the age of the property.

Greed and unrealistic expectations. A property is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.. People can ask what they want it doesn’t mean it is worth that much or anyone will pay that much.

Cant see any major tourism happening now for at least the next 18 months. There is really no safe way to open the country until the majority are vaccinated. If the tourist areas are decimated and like ghost towns now. What will they be like in another 12 months time.

Arriving Phuket: I assume you will also be able to arrive at Phuket via Bangkok (transit), or not? For example Zürich - Bangkok (transit) - Phuket.
What do you think?
Yes I believe you can transit through BKK

GitHub gets its data from MoPH.
There was indeed a huge jump in numbers being tested daily starting around 6 April. Because contrary to what some on this site insist, the MoPH does expand testing in response to rising numbers of cases. It does not, as soem claim, try to limit case detection by limiting testing (which would in any event be a futile endeavor since it would feed the spread of the epidemic).
These are the actual number of tests done per day, from the MoPH lab site (the bottom row with totals is mine, rest is a straight download from the MoPH lab servcie)
Why are the positive test numbers here higher than statistics reported in the media?
it appears these figures are also likely including repeated tests on existing positive cases as well as new presentations and probably testing conducted in hotel quarantine too.
without knowing the percentage of test and positive results from the different cohorts it is not possible from these figures to accurately determine the percentage of positivity on tests of new presentations.- 2

Does anyone know what the positivity rate actually is? It would be helpful to know how many tests they are doing and how many people test positive. Also it would be helpful to learn where the outbreaks occur so that we can avoid those areas. Is this information available in English?
Official sources suggest around 10-15k tests a day. It’s been floating between 10-15% positive
The breakdown of locations has been coming through a bit later. Usually shown by each province

And those numbers at least from UK experience are the result of infections up to 14-28 days ago, so expect deaths to massively increase in the coming weeks
And in India they are cremating twice the number of people who are dying.

They would be vaccinated before starting the job on Monday. With sinovac vaccines that only offer 3% protection after first Jab ?

The UK test near a million people per day - do you think that would make a difference, I believe Thailand is testing about 13k a day and are turning people away
Yes it would make a difference. If people coming forward presenting symptoms get tested they may be mor inclined to go and isolate till they get results. What are they supposed to do if they can’t get tested?? Is everyone who is refused a test supposed to stay home even if they are negative because they can get a test and results.

What a truly revolting statement.
you call the death of an unborn child culling? The poor pregnant girl who died probably had maternal onset issues that disappear after pregnancy and totally unrelated to her general health.

Thanks. good to see someone’s brain is working.
Most western countries are turning around their tests in under 24hrs.
Thailand is saying up to 4 days to get results. We really don’t know what day the current positive tests were done on.- 4

It helps when you have a small population and are far away on an island.
Available resources are relevant to population size and all countries weather an island or not have the ability to close their boarders by both air and land if they chose to do so. So both of your point are moot. The Uk a wealthy country with massive resources and an island is a good case point in the failure in this regard.

No one can predict what the outcome will be just as it was in every other country ravaged by the disease. It seems that the only thing that has truly reduced the spread is vaccinations.
You just have to look to New Zealand and Australian to see what works. They both got on top of it from the onset. Used the initial lockdown to implement strong policies for outbreaks and got the teams and systems in place for for contact tracing and immediately implement sharp lockdowns for short durations when small outbreaks have occurred giving the contact tracing teams time to respond and isolate all known contacts.
